Hi all drivers.
I think Polyphony forgot 2 things in this new update and DLC, they forgot the black and colored carbon fiber hoods and rims for standart cars, I don't know if you have the same opinion as me.

Peace to all, :)

How do you know they forgot these issues, they might not have even been on there agenda.

The only thing they forgot in my view is to make Spa relevant in Aspec or Seasonals. Hope they will include Spa in both modes in another update.

1) Point-to-Point courses in the Course maker.
2) DRAG RACING!

I don't think they forgot it, as it was never announced that they were going to include them.

Why do you want parts for standard cars? I mean what do you think the car would look with the high detail modelled premium rims or carbon hoods? Yea, it would look silly as hell.

No more work on the standard cars. They are now very fine with the added cockpit view. Only the FormulaGT should be upgraded to premium to have at least a "wannabe" F1 class in the game. 16x red Ferrari's on the track is too boring. 👍

I am more for carbon doors & trunks for premium cars. Parts to make our premium cars lighter & faster. And of course, wider rims!!!:D

No, no, NO! You guys definitelly DIDN'T GET the right idea... I agree that premium wheels on standard cars will look weird, but if you could use standard rims on standard cars? Like it was on GT4? That's the idea! 👍

The idea is:

- The ability to change rims BETWEEN the standard cars, just like was the USED WHEELS feature on GT4. Not modelling more wheels... just making them swappable.

- I the case of a carbon hood for standards its just a matter of adding a hi-def carbon texture on the area where is the hood of the car. That's not much of a work.

You guys really need to stop being harsh against the standard cars and give some respect... a lot of us use them and have fun with them... so, why not give'em some love like some already received?

C'mon... open your minds... :) the standard cars are a reality. They are inside GT5 and as the biggest part of the community uses them and enjoy them TOGETHER with the premiums, they must get some more work.

And of course, this doesn't mean that we want PD to stop working on premiums, they can work on both. And again, I bought my game with 1000+ cars, I use every single one of them and I want them to work to give me a better experience with ALL of them :)

My conclusion is: ALL that we, "standard defenders" (LOL) want is to have the same features that we had in GT4. Not more, not less. That's it. So PD, you give me standard cars, ok I like them, but I want to change their rims, I want to use them in photomode... that's it.

Ok, you have a point there. Maybe add the info to the first post to make it clear for everyone. :sly:

I haven't played GT4, but as you said it was possible to switch the standard car rims there, yea it's kinda silly that it's now not anymore possible in GT5. They should re-add this option. :dopey:👍

Yeah, it was very consistent and worked like a marvel! :)

We had lots of nice wheel options, such as BBS, Falken, Volk and we had the option to buy the "used wheel from the day", every day a selection of wheels from various cars were given as option, they we could do some nice mixes such as M5 wheels on M3, etc, etc :)

^^ Omg, really? That's awesome & I just love the "wheel of the day" thing. :D:tup:

Would be also awesome for the premium cars. Some of the "selection" of wheels for some cars is really horrible.

Just thinking about the murcielago wheels on ...? :dopey:

It was like this... damn, its hard to find GT4 menu pics now and almost impossible to find GT4's GT Auto videos :(

MY HOLY GOD, It's SO HARD to see these GT4 pics because it was SO MUCH BETTER in this aspect... damn, all I want is some steelies to put on my standards :(

All of you, tweet Kaz... again!

lmao,
I only put a BBS RS on the beetle 1300

How about corrado steelies or widened old school BBS on a MK1 GTi?

200 wheels! Wtf?👍

Would make the tuning of my cars, to find "the right wheel", a very time intense thing.

Thats ONLY the used ones, but you could only choose between 10 each game-day... but it was easy to advance a day... plus we had 9 brands of wheels with a lot of them.

Yeah, go on twitter now and ask Kazunori-san. Already did it today. lol

You sir, need to get new glasses, seriously. Yes they look a tiny bit better than in GT4 thanks to updated reflections, but they are the same models, as in same poly count (if you even know what that means). Saying they look as good or even the tiniest bit close to the premiums is just being ignorant.

Well, **** it, if you like them, then good for you.

That's my point. It would be 10 times more polished if it hadn't been ruined by the standards in the first place.

Um.... Polyphony did update them with higher polygon counts... That's all though so it's not just a straight port. Plus if they had not included them you would be complaining just as much about the lack of content in the game. :| Oh only 200 cars? Oh woe is me!!

I don't even really see why premium rims would look bad on standard cars. The actual replacement premium rims don't really look as good as the rims that actually COME on premium cars. Close, but not quite. And imo the bodies of standard model cars blend in perfectly with premium bodies when you're actually in race.

So I think the current rims in GT5 would look fine on standard model cars. The old rims are really the only thing that looks bad on standard models. (though there are some standard cars that have nice looking rims).

Same goes for carbon hoods. There's no reaon it wouldn't work with standard models. It's just a skin.

What's important in GT, after physics, is building your own collection of cars that represents you and your taste in cars. And just being able to change rims and hoods on standard cars goes a long way towards every car in your garage being your own.

Rims on standard models is my personal greatest wish for the game. And it has been since day 1. I think if people could have done that from the beginning, very few people would have even cared about the diference between standards and premiums.

Never used twitter, sorry. :sly:

Only registered there once to get acess to a game beta (the BF:BC2 Beta I think). I bet that's how twitter & facebook getting so much "users".

I agree on 98% of what you said, being the 2% the part where you said that standard rims look bad. They've got some improvement since 1.10 if I'm not mistaken and most of them look great. The oldschool rims with chrome details such as the ones on the Honda N360 look really awesome. :) I think 80% of them look better :)

And yeah, wheels for standards ARE my biggest wish on GT5 since day 1. I'm with you on that.

Or Banded Steels 👍

That isnt ALL The used wheels, Porsche Fuches arnt in there

Ooh man that would be perfect, but on MK1 I would put a porsche rim

GT5 isn't GT4. It'll never be as good a game. All we have now with GT5 is the latest graphics, a load of useless features like suits and helmet, photo mode, but no game (longer than a month to complete).

IMO, Standard cars look better in motion on replays than the premiums because the lines in between panels and on other features of the car appear as white unrealistic dots and shapes in 1080p. What they should of done, and i'm sure it wouldn't effect most players, is made all cars look premium in garage and gt auto and round them off a bit in replay and game mode.

It would retain being able to change wheels and stuff on all the cars as the Playstation could cope with the capped graphics in game and replay mode.

Polyphony are way too ahead of the technology of Sony's Playstation. It's not easy on the eye for me. Too sharp, sharper than real life?
