As I play more and more online races, I've noticed no one uses hardly any of the other cars that's available for racing.

Example: DB9, IS-F, XK, Mustang, M3, R8, Tamora, Speed Six, 512BB, Viper GTS, GT-R Proto, SL55

Why don't people race in these no more. It would make the game more interesting for online play. Now it's all about being the fastest on the track

well ATM there are no races for those cars hell the only pro race where you can pick what car you want is 800PP no way a normal car could compete with the winged wonders.

The high PP events sucks... for me it´s more luck then good drive to do 5 perfect laps @suzuka 750PP it´s all much too fast...

The Fuji Pro Event is nice...

I hope we´ll see more low PP events @ the next online events... so we can use the slower cars,i would also love to race with the 350Z,TVR,135I asf... only one 500pp event will be great...

yeah i agree i love driving stock cars or cars that are slightly tuned... i think the winged cars are much less fun to drive! Thank god for the Fuji event though drifting with the vette or ferrari is the best i have had online so far!

If i were to be racing, i would usually be using none of the mainstream cars (the ones that are being spammed in races) as i like to differentiate myself. But im mainly in a M3 if im not doing the Fuji pro event.

I've driven in the XK and it's so so. Love the interior

<<Like the DB9 better. Still I like the XK. I've seen one in person and it is gorgeous. I think one of the problems is that the low PP events have all been cut down. I don't race anything online that doesn't include professional physics... couple that with mainly High PP events and you lose a lot of car choices if you want to be competitive... but why don't you try organising some kind of event? I'm sure there are people that would like to race those cars... Heck, I would.

That's why it's up to the drifters to popularize those cars

Recently I've started drifting the GTS a lot. If I tweak the suspension a little bit more, it might be my all-time favorite car to drift :dopey:

Hello? Correct me if I've been wrong all these years, but isn't that what racing is all about?

Yes but sometimes you want a race that doesn't force people to pick the best cars performance wise. Where's the fun in racing if everyone keeps chosing the same car at least change things up a bit. One night I was at Daytona Speedway, everybody was driving Ford GTs while I was the only one in the race that was driving a R35 GT-R, now doesn't that sound boring. I understand one-make races but when you can choose more than one car then at least pick the car you personally want to drive, where's the fun in racing if all you cared about is winning all the time? Sometimes racing can bring people together to have a good time on the track and make new friends.

Good going for you Goracle 👍

Hopefully when we get private rooms we can have cool stuff like make-only races. A Lancia only race at the Eiger for instance... That car just isn't going to be competitive with more modern cars but it's still fun to drive.

I'm always switching around in car's, Although I don't really like some car's, although I race in almost every car i can drive!

I would like to race in PRO physics with NSX-R against 16 similar 300PS cars, but there are no online races like that... only dull fantasy tuned monsters on HSR and three car race at Fuji which I'm loving actually.

that's why i would love to see some lesser power race cars^^ for fun^^ i don't drive all the cars but it is nice to see some other cars on the daytona's and fuji events^^, a few days ago on the daytone speed there where all gtr and ford gt i was the only f40:) besides that it was a great race. what i meant with "lesser race cars" are things like the swift and if gt5 is there Seat leons, alfa 156 etc^^ i would very much like that^^

i dont really complain about the car choices, i use the F430 or GTR in the Fuji Race. Corvette Tuned or Fort GT Tuned in PP750, and when i play single player in arcade i use a M3 or Sl55 for some drifting fun.

GOK has a good point, though not one that hasn't been expressed before.

All I can add is that if it isn't all about the winning, then you shouldn't worry about using a different car even if everybody else is. That, and the R35 is well within reach of beating all but the quickest drivers in the GT LM if driven properly ;)

There should be handicapped races that take in to account your race success rate in non-handicapped races. If it was balanced well, more successful drivers could be given the slightly weaker cars and the field would be varied and more balanced.

Either that or some randomiser!

By the way, I bring out the Ferrari 512BB sometimes, for fun. It's not all about the winning for me, it's about having a good race, perhaps driving above expectations and being competitive in your class :D

That is what PRIVATE racing is for. I only play online for PRO mode.. and I always seem to see 700PP plus, sure its fun to take a Mustang GT there but you have no chance in winning, its like bringing NEON to a F1 race...
That's why I think Private rooms will be more fun and can tell other racers on what cars to use, so more fun.

All these thoughts we have about this and that, will end as soon as the private lobbies are available, you will be able to create a room where you only could drive a specific car.

I really couldn't care less what cars other people are driving, don't see what difference it makes to my race. I concentrate 100% on my performance and the track. Everyone could be on lawnmowers for all I care.

Well I think PD have to mix up the events in Expert mode online, so we can use most of our cars in the game.

Hopefully they will keep modifying the PP ratings of the cars until they get it "right". What is happening is that the PP ratings aren't accurately depicting the performance capabilities of the cars - thus each race eventually ends up with a few models you can choose from if you want to have any chance at all of a win. I'll go out and run cars I know I can't win in on occasion, but what most often happens in those cases is you get wiped out by someone who doesn't know how to pass cleanly. A good example of this is the Ford GT road car on HSR 800. I would love to drive that car there, and can actually turn a pretty good time when practicing on my own. The problem is that this car absolutely requires slowing down on the straight, then powering through the corner. Otherwise it will just understeer into the outer wall (even with R3 front R2 rear). Since most people are running the Amuse, which can brake later into the corners, they are continually wiping me out. I have to climb into the Ford GT LM or the Lotus Elise IIIr so that I can move my braking point far enough forward. And, in the case of the Elise, I have to get a commanding lead or I'll lose the race on the straights every time due to the power difference.

So it is a natural progression that we see over and over and which I certainly hope gets resolved eventually by more accurate PP ratings.
