Just want to start a thread on things we would like in GT 5 or GT 6. I miss the menu system from GT2. I don't know why but I loved the seperation of car brands and everything being available as an un-used car

Just thought about how much I miss Complex String after posting the thread. I miss the dealer specific races they use to have as well

I miss being able to RM most of the cars in the game.

Used wheel shop D:
And yeah there were so many used cars in GT2 that could be bought new... I like the variation. Second hand premiums would be cool.

The ability to win a car more than once in a racing series such as in GT3. You would find yourself racing a particular series multiple times to get all the car / color variations and made grinding somewhat fun. They kind of addressed this with level tickets for the seasonal events but they are still one and done unless you are grinding for credits only.

A real miss for me and something I would like to see return if they were to reconsider the A-Spec portion of the game as you probably would see a lot more people playing it again as opposed to online events only which is basically what is happening now.

Many old cars that don't exist in GT5 along with the tracks from old GTs and level 5 turbos, one car events, intercoolers, more HP, max speed for every gear, RM for many more cars. Regarding these misses, GT5 is still best than all, mostly because of its physics model, interior view, transition in time and weather change, improved sounds, compatible peripherals, online racing, color system, trading cars and items.

This and tracks like seatle, midfield, the old Rome track and a massive choice of wheels

Midfield Raceway and I would love to be able to drift Apricot Hill in GT5

I agree with Italicized, but correct me if wrong, we have the bolded ones? I got the Peugeot from a 92 b-day ticket.

Midfield, Tahiti Route 3, Rome Night, GT2's car buying process, Wheel Selection...

In fact, Polyphony should just remake GT2.

Currently? I miss the GT3 HUD. The one in GT5 is incredibly annoying for someone who compares the tach to the speedometer to learn shift points like I do.

Even the GT4 HUD would be better.

*The track day feature from GT4. Like free run but with oponents to keep boredom away. Since it's free run it's uncompetitive so cars only battle for fastest lap time.

*Qualifying. I hate starting at the back of the pack when my competition is as barbaric and slow as GT5s AI.

*Race modifications. Turning a nice car into an all-out racing machine??? Yes please!!! Strip the interiors, remove the catalytic converters, add the widebodies and the ridiculous spoilers, apply the cool graphics, get the sequential gerboxes...well, you get my point.

*Being able to win a car multiple times and actually sell it. Grindig for cash cows has always been a massive part of GT. Nobody remembers GT4s DTM? How about the Costa di Amalfi one where you won a 250k cr worth Toyota SUV? Don't you have memories of doing over and over the a race in Seattle in GT2 so you could sell all those Shelby Cobras and get an Escudo? Petty please... :D

*The map from GT4. It was brilliant. It has so much more feel than simple menus. I liked travelling to Germany, getting into the only Audi showroom in the world where they sold an R8 LMP, buying some parts for it (Why are tunning parts of generic origin in GT5? :lol), and then getting into a one-make race. The Dealership map system was much better in my opinion, and a classic from GT1, GT2, and GT4.

*Tracks. So many great ones have been lost. I'd specifically like Complex String, Seattle, El Capitan, Citta di Aria, Costa di Amalfi, and Apricot Hill. Also, I'd be absolutely spectacular and astounding if PD made two fan proposed tracks that blew mi mind; one that merged SpecialStage Route 11 with SpecialStage Route 5 and one that joined the Geoge V and the Opera Paris tracks from GT4 running trough the whole Champs Elysees avenue. Ohhh...just thinking about it...

*The Tuners system from GT4. You could go to Tuner Village in said world map and depending on your car brand get car parts from actual tunning firms. What was even better is that they had parts that dealership tuners hadn't like the Stage 5 turbos. Each one also had it's own showroom. Enough could be added to cover the spectrum of most GT5 cars.

And well...I guess that's it for now ;).

Old Rome, god how I miss that track. I used to hate it in GT2 tho. Seemed like every other race was on Rome haha.

I miss Seattle a lot, and Midfield, Red rock valley etc... Awesome tracks.

I miss the old a-spec races from GT2 & 3, the old manufacture races and the used rim shop. And my old Ford Mondeo 2.5i 24V V6 Ghia, amazing car :)

My thoughts exacly. I'll even say that they could use the tuning system from GT1-GT2 where you had to go to the dealership for your car's manufacturer and tune it there where the tuning was done by the manufacturer's official tuners (like TRD for Toyota or STI for Subaru).

Not to be that guy, but I don't see why we should miss having to go to dealers to tune cars. All it ever did for me was make the menu system even more convoluted than it already was.

Definitely the obvious ability to RM absolutely every car in the game, regardless of how repetitive some of the finished results were, but also those utter lunacy cars - The HKS drag monsters and the mid-engined Honda CRX LM.

I also (kinda) miss the tuning house cars of old, remember the old TRD MR2 with the roof mounted air intake?!

(EDIT: Just been looking through the cars lists in the GTPlanet libraries and boy were there some good ones in GT2!)

Looking at the library section of GT2 is quite a good idea and reminded me of something else I miss. A separate GT300 tournament!!! :D That and Jag XJ15 + Lotus Elise GT1

Way before we got Makoto & Cargo's cool lounge musice we had this, and it still oozed awesomeness :D.

And you are not that guy. I feel the same way, it's a lot more user friendly in GT5.
