The 1.2L FIAT 500 (new) bugs me. It's got like 60hp. Why not change it to the much more powerful 1.4L version? Visually they look the same. Then we could street tune it into something similar to the basic Abarth 500, or race modify it into something even faster. The many flavors of 1.4L get anywhere from 100-200hp right from the factory (or official upgrade kit).

Also, full support for G25/27. Why not? The support is really already there, so what does it take? Seems like most of it is just a picture of the wheel itself.

I'd get rid of leveling, the whole idea is out of sync with GT, it's contrived, redundant and panderous. I'm damn tired of skinner boxes in every single game I buy.

Although I don't have much of a problem with the standard cars I suppose after hearing what some people are saying about certain inconsistencies in their quality it would be great if that could be resolved. Also I'd find a way of adding wheel customization and possibly even small front splitters as these could both be quite simply added on to the models when purchased. Also bring back Midfield, Swiss Alps, Tahiti Maze and Opera Paris!

1. ALL Standard cars upgraded to Premium
2. ALL tracks from GT1-GT4 that didn't make it to GT5 brought back (SSR11, Midfield raceway etc)
3. Full selection of NASCAR drivers and ALL NASCAR tracks
4. Obvious favorites such as Spa, Sebring, Road America etc.
5. ALL tracks have weather and night racing.

I disagree that bumper cam is cockpit view without the cockpit in that your POV is forward of the cockpit here. If it were the same as cockpit that would mean that you have up to several feet of car in front of you that is invisible and you would hit stuff on a regular basis you would also be able to see the car pulling along side you when it gets to the front door or more but in bumper view you are positioned forward to the front of the car so there is no invisible car in front and you can not see a car that is 3/4 way along side you.

Hood view is the closest to cockpit view. It is also forward of the cockpit view but not as far as bumper view. Roof view is same as cockpit but higher.

Agreed, bumper cam is too far forward and too close to the ground. Actual cockpit view gives you the most realistic feeling of weight transfer, especially for drifting etc.

I actually didn't mind the roof cam from GT4 but a hood cam would be better, and cockpit cam better again

Edit: back on topic, I;d like to see a clean sheet of cars. Any of the standard cars that are considered worthy of collection should be fulll modelled with interior etc. and new models should be constantly developed (this is more for GT6 than GT5). Also more world tracks would be nice, as well as proper rally stages (tight, lined with obstacles like trees etc.)

Not changed but Added:

Standard mountain courses with narrow roads. Racing from Point A to B (uphill or downhill) w/ weather and night cycle.

No I'm not talking about rally races. I'm talking about actual paved roads.

Got the game today, played it about 2 hours :

positive :

- handling ( almost perfect )
- sound ( better than I expected, not perfect but way better than in prequels )
- grafics of premium cars and day/night circle

negative :

- grafics of certain tracks : Trial Mountain, Deep Forest, Grand Valley. I wouldn't say that they look horrible, but certain aspects like cheap looking 2D trees ( even bad looking for 2D trees, you know, not even compared to 3D trees ), 2D low def forest wallpaper 10 meters outside the track etc etc are a big letdown. Those "standard courses" are GT4 tracks in Highdef with some added effects and a few additions here and there. And they didn't really age that well.
Some textures even look horrible, like the gras outside the tunnel afte rthe blue bridge in Grand Valley - that's like Ace Combat 10 feet above the ground.
Also - pop ups, sometimes massive. Saw a whole building pop up in Special Stage Route 5 ( last corner before the start finish straight )

Boottom line : Awesome game, but certain aspects need polish. Big time. No deal breaker but annoying never the less. I guess you'll get used to it pretty fast, but I still don't like first class and second class cars and tracks. Because after driving your premium car in toscany into the dark and then driving a standard car in trial mountain makes the flaws so much more obvious.

Sorry for that telegram style but it's 11 pm now, stood up at 5.20 am, will stand up at 5.20 am tomorrow, need some sleep now ;-)

Have fun with GT5 ! I know I will despite the issues I mentioned.

Sorry for picking on your post among others but this isn't a wish list. Be realistic!

Who said anything about being realistic? The thread title is "Things you'd like changed in GT5". I'm simply stating things I'd like changed/added. Just because I'm not being realistic doesn't mean I can't say what I'd like to have.

But, the changes/additions I stated are better left for GT6.

Online keeps crapping out on me...
It keeps freezing. Happened to me and 3 others.
Fix it Kaz!

In the last half hour this happened 5 times to me , too. Don't know whats going up there :sly:

Time for bed now ^^

... tuned cars can be used online :)

Yeah that's totally realistic

Edit: If this is just a wishlist thread then it probably should be locked because honestly, what's the point in it?

I want GT5 to cook me dinner while I play.

Hmm, hard to comment since I don't have the game yet but from the info I've been reading and videos I've seen:

- some sort of one lap standing start time trial on the Top Gear track w/ a seperate leaderboard (as previously mentioned). This HAS to be implemented some how!

- Bring back qualifying. Wasn't qualifying in GT1? If you skipped it you started at the back but now you have no option, you're ALWAYS at the back and this has just bugged me for the longest time!

- Also about GT1, wasn't there a pre-race menu that gave the information on your opponents like what car they were driving, BHP and stuff like that? Hopefully this is back and if not I'd love to see this return.

-bring back dealerships with the used car lots and one make races. I'm getting mixed info on this and it appears this is gone (with just one used car lot w/ 30 random cars). Gonna miss that town map.

Just a few things I'd like to see. Hopefully down the line we'll get some sort of patch with new features or cars. I'd love to see that! I'm so excited to get the game, Gamestop is shipping it right now and I'll have it tomorrow! yesss :D

Read my post again. I believe I clearly stated that I realize I wasn't being realistic. However, what was the harm in it? Maybe I didn't explain it clear enough? The post I made was NOT A WISHLIST. Instead, it's simply things I would like to have changed or added to GT5. If you want to call it a wishlist, call it a wishlist for GT6, not GT5

But, it's no biggie.

I'm not worthy of having such a fantastic chef.

From all the races I've done so far, it appears that you actually get put in the middle of the grid, which makes for some interesting starts 👍

What's the problem with copy-protected data?

If it wasn't copy-protected all teh noobz would just dupe their saves, gift the cars to a friend from another PS3, get the cars back, earn billions without ever having a girlfriend.

Copy-protection ftw!

Shadows and camera focus need to be polished out.

Yep. Was making a track on Toscana Tarmac @ 18:00, and during a testdrive all the tree's shadows had horrible pop-in.
Also, when you turn the cockpit view using an analogue stick, the exposure changes momentarily.

And maybe I havn't discovered it yet, but I didn't find a 'track day' / free roam type of online mode. You can free-race on a server, but *any* person in the lobby can start a race, and everyone in free-race gets reset and put on the starting grid for a race. 👎

Also, GT5 clearly shouldn't be played on a 4:3 SD tv. I've mentioned earlier in the thread. The chat-feature in online mode takes up a third of the screen, and it is shown during races as well, very distracting, hardly can see the track.

:banghead: I hope your ps3 dies 2 weeks after getting the game. jk Who cares who has what and when? The only reason I would agree is because of online play right after the game is released. After a month or so all the hardcores will have everything they need to be competitive.

i agree or they can give it to another PS3 they own, and keep trading back and forth and make billions

PD need to make it so your save data is uploaded to your PSN account so IF something happens to the PS3 harddrive it is on your PSN account & the game redownloads it

a XML file should do it correct me if i am wrong

Would love this. Not sure if this is what you mean't by it but I'd like to (in addition to being able to set the time of day for any race you create) be able to jump into matchmaking based on region and get the real time of day for whatever region of the world you're in. It'll require that some tracks be upgraded to have time of day as well but we'll see how serious PD are about creating the ultimate racer through patches.

- Livery Editor
- Ability to use paint chips on any car body/rims as many times as you want
- Ability to gain credits from online races
- Ability to race people for pink slips
- Some sort of marketplace or auction house
- Ability to turn autosave OFF

Fantasy suggestion: A free run mode like Test Drive Unlimited's. I noticed some weird white city in the background when I booted up GT5 recently and it had a bunch of cars just driving all around a fictional city. What if PD were able to somehow incorporate a little open-worldness into the game over the life of the title?

Alright, that last one is something of a pipe dream, but those emboldened points I think are definite musts. I know I'm leaving something out though, but I'll remember it later.

Would love this. Not sure if this is what you mean't by it

eg start a 24h enduro race at 12:00pm 5 hours later the sun is setting
3 hours after that it is fully set and dark(so it's now 8PM) you race for 10 hours at night now it is 6am the sun is starting to rise 2 hours after this their good light now being 8am you have 4 more hours till midday

* Adjustable weather/time released on all tracks.

* Surprise DLC of more tracks

* Surprise DLC of premium cars (both new models and those std iconic cars that deserve the Premium treatment

* Ongoing patches to correct some of the well known glitches.

Hello,

So as many of us are aware GT5, like any other game, will update periodically. What I am concerned with is the contents of said updates and how soon we can expect the updates to come. Furthermore, I was wondering if PD would hear our requests as this is a game to please the fans more than any other in the series.
Tell me your thoughts on this subject and what you would personally like to see included in the updates; there is always a chance our requests will be heard and put into the game :)

Personal requests:

- A few more car makes such as: Koenigsegg, Ascari, Gumpert, and Porsche (which probably won't happen)

- A generic interior for all standard cars

- Full support of Logitech's G25 and G27 wheels (meaning ability to assign buttons etc.) and idle reving when using the clutch. To clarify what this means is when using the clutch you should be able to let out the clutch slowly and the car to pull forward a little without applying the gas pedal in other words the engine at idle should stay at 1000 rpms not 0 or whatever it stays at now.

I'm really not trying to complain, the game is quite brillant. I think that updating a few features such as the last two requests I had should be pretty easy. I really wouldn't care so much if the car makes above weren't included.

Thank you

There is an update due some time in December. The exact contents are unknown, but Polyphony might make the details known closer to the release.

Furthermore, I was wondering if PD would hear our requests as this is a game to please the fans more than any other in the series.
It is known that Polyphony observe the forums, usually for feedback once a game has been released. However, if anyone here actually works for Polyphony is unknown; if they do, they haven't told us (personally, I doubt it).

I would not go holding my breath in the hopes that Polyphony will listen to specific requests. If there is a particular car or circuit or feature that you want to see included in the game, this is not a platform to post it so that Polyphony can see it. We are not a direct line to Polyphony Digital for you to phone in your requests. Rather, I suspect that Polyphony look at the forums only occasionally, and will only do so to get a general sense of what worked and what did not. It's not a case of "hearing requests" so much as it is looking to gauge reception and reactions among fans.

In fact, I have half a mind to delete any post (in this thread or others) that attempts to communicate with Polyphony Digital directly. We are not directly associated with them, and we have no way of monitoring their activity on the forums. There is no way to tell where such posts or threads will be seen by them, much less read or acted upon. Thus, any attempts at reaching them directly through the forums could be considered useless posts and/or spam, which is cause for being deleted and infractions being issued to those responsible.
