Follow the first vid... get his front thigh out enough to tip him forward, bend his front knee, then once you get some momentum, alternate QP and WO... this gets him to do the "high step." But you have to vary the timing a bit as he goes on to keep him balanced... which is nigglingly, insanely, incredibly difficult.
 
I have got the high step pattern going and its going well and its like all of the sudden the physics realize I'm getting a pattern gong thats working and they change all of the sudden and he starts doing wacky stuff again. I gave up on trying to do it well, I just do it and laugh now.
