In GT4 if you needed some quick money you'd just do the rally stage where you'd won the Toyota RSC.
In GT5 you can't win a car twice and the money reward is piss poor.. Few people are going to race that much just for the money to buy cars, and because A-spec is so marginal there are just too few races to do which makes the game boring,. Also online doesnt cut is for everyone.. I'm leading to think PD wants us to leave this game as soon as possible..

Also what should I do with the second X2010 I get when I reach B-spec lvl 35?!:grumpy:

Yep, of course. We now have our driving game back, instead of a pokemon game.

Let me get this straight! I never duped anything, but being able to trade cars kept the game alive for many.
(If I had duped I wouldn't have had only 180 cars while I'm almost lvl 35 right?)

And do you like driving Like the Wind for the 100th time? This game just has far too few events to make up for this, and the credits you get from events is far too low to stay interested as well.
GT4 was much better balanced.

If acquiring cars as fast as possible and trading is all you were playing GT5 for, then yes, this patch probably killed it for you.

Sounds more like Anno would be the game to play, then.

Give PD a break, they only worked on GT5 for 6 years....... They might get something right soon. :ouch:

I've done all the b-spec events, and all the A-spec events upto and including a few endurance events. I now play online, seasonal events and with the wrs up and running that as well. I'm still making money and buying cars.

What started as a flood is now a trickle, but I'm happy with that. If people are looking to get everything as quickly as possible, I can see why they are disappointed, but hey you can't please everyone.

I don't like playing online for specific reasons (I can't hear what other people are saying and that's pretty damn frustrating). Since voice chat came into online gaming I don't really like online gaming anymore..

Offline this game is just crap compared to GT4, no one can deny that.. The seasonal events lost their greatness with the lose of restrictions.. I'm one of them who golded the Focus event at Madrid without SRF and with the restrictions installed.
I have golded Vettel. So I can actually race, but the game has lost lots compred to GT4, and collecting cars ain't as doable anymore, except when you like grinding..
That's sad.

Can anyone tell me what I should do with my second X2010 when I reach lvl35 b-spec? :(

Why do people love collecting cars so much? Go collect stamps or summin. Thia game is for driving!

Nope, this is a game for collecting AND driving.. If it was only about driving I'd rather play Live For Speed, GTR2, iRacing.. Games with better physics..
Also the fact there's a 1000 cars in garage trophy says enough..

Hey if you like collecting maybe try your local model shop. What's the fun in having a garage with 40 different Skylines that all drive virtually the same. Pick the cars you like best, drive 'em, race em. It's a driving simulator, not a card game!!

Enjoy the game with your elitist friends, Heinrich. I'm sure it's much better without all the other people playing.

Quality over quantity, you know :sly:
I wouldn't hang out with someone who's starting to swear and scream like a kid because he doesn't get what he wants.
In fact, I wouldn't have to in real life, either. That's the kind of people that usually just goes home if something isn't perfectly fitting to their taste.

and if it takes an elitist to not rage quit like a seven year old... Well, I'll take the elitist, thanks.

It won't be a quick death for GT5, however it is a instant death for duping :sly:.

I bet PD are awesome at COD, this is a serious multikill that they did today 💡.

In my eyes GT5 died before the patch was even released. My friends list consists of hardcore racing fans and yet at this moment in time only 1 friend is still playing GT5.

GT5 isn't an enjoyable video game. The days of grinding and collecting cars are a thing of the past and these days gamers expect alot more features especially online.

I wonder what percentage of those 6 million copies sold are still playing GT5? Well based on what I know so far I reckon only 10%!

Still this isn't just PD fault. After moving to the PS3 from the Xbox 360 the whole experience on PS3 is miles behind the 360 especially online. Im still having to switch my 360 on so I can chat to my mates whilst we're playing on our PS3s. I would say Sony/PD are about 5yrs behind MS/360 when it comes to online gaming.

If they ever get around to any DLC and ask us to pay money for it, the sales will no doubt be down. Dupers may upset some, but they probably won't be around now to boost sales.

I presume all new copies of the game will be shipped with an updated manual, because it states that you can give cars to your friends. It does not say cars valued at less than 1,000,000 credits! Does the Trades Descriptions Act or anything similar apply to video games?

Well based on what I know so far, 95% of people play this game, your assumption is based on what, your friends!?
Sorry to hear you have bad experience with online on PS3, but for me it works great, i was maybe once disconnected from GT5 online game.
Other then cross game chat i don't see how PD/Sony is 5 years behind from M$/360.

For me this patch doesn't kill game at all, i bought it for racing, not trading cars, and collect 1000+ cars, that i will never even drive, just to earn meaningless trophy.
What kills games are trophies."Must get that trophy right now, have more then my friends." And when you have 1000+ cars trophy, of course gamers will try to cheat, and dupe cars. And when that is over, game instantly sucks.

They're on a killing spree :D

It's the longest killstreak in the history of gaming .

I disagree, out of 30 of my friends in GT5 about 5 of them are not playing, they are at about level 5 so they probably didn't like it from the start, it's the same with black ops well that's got more at low levels that don't play tbh.

Not everyone will like GT5 and it's the same for all other games, I can see where your coming from but I don't think it's concrete evidence for what you are saying.

I made the switch from the 360 to the ps3 a few years back now, I see no difference in online on either apart from you have to pay for live, each to their own though, I don't have an issue with the fees as it's still cheap, IMHO the only thing the Xbox has over the PS3 is it's user interface, I've never liked the XMB on the PS3 but it still works and the only thing that swings it my way for the PS3 is the blu ray.

Atleast I still have all the cars I duped before the patch :sly: and the 'Ring... Plus some nice biweekly online racing with a great group of racers... No big fuss here... ;) Greatest thing of all.... Got both Ferrari F1s in right before the patch, which I didnt know about, in. Ultimate IBTL right there ;)

Highly amusing...

Duping gave me 1 new car per day to drive (without hours of grinding) which would mean 2+ years to get all remaining cars. Hardly getting cars "as fast as possibel" now is it.

Please stop lumping the traders being stupid with X2010s in the same group as dupers who simply want to enjoy driving.

I do however find it funny that people prefer grinding for cash over experiencing different cars.

Maybe if I had more than a hour or two per day to play I might not mind this change.

GT5 should be about driving enjoyment and not grinding...

Give the patch a try, like the game and like every previous patch. See how it works for you in a few weeks. Maybe you won't like the game anymore. In that case there will be plenty of fun games being released this year. Maybe you will like it and you will have months of fun ahead of you.

I have learned from reading most of these threads that the assumptions right after a patch (or game release) are not always right. Let's just see how this patch works out.

Exactly the same as me...👍
The WRS is more than enough reason to buy the game...online is hit and miss.
I haven't raced an offline event for about a month, but still buy about 3 cars a day....:)

Appearently, a lot faster than you would otherwise, isn't it? There would be nobody doing it if it wasn't advantageous to them.

Since when does this involve the need to have a whole garage full of highly expensive cars?

I do however find it funny that people prefer grinding for cash over experiencing different cars.
First of, the two aren't necessarily mutually exclusive. They only are if you want to grind as effectively as possible, but that's not what someone who 'Just wants to enjoy driving' would do, right?

Maybe if I had more than a hour or two per day to play I might not mind this change.
Meh, I'm usually spending even less time with GT5, probably two hours per week. If you're having so little time, why bother gettign a crapload of cars? Unless, of course, you want a new one after driving a car for, like, 10 minutes.

GT5 should be about driving enjoyment and not grinding...
It is what you make it out to be. There are many issues in the game that can't be changed, but this is one issue that comes down to your attitude.

If this was about the XP grind, I'd be with you. But for the credits? Not really.

Yeah :D There needs to be a new measurement for this one. 'Epic kill' would be apropriate, I think.

Yeah I think epic kill sounds right :), the killstreak reward should be a pack of skylines with rocket launchers driving around killing everyone

I have to aggree with you.

I don`t want to do the Indy98k over 200 times to get the money for a 20mil car.
It just makes on sense. I still dont understand why making the Indy98k 2 times (8 mins of racing) rewards me more then doing 60laps at Grand Valley in a lvl25 event.
Edit: Oh, for my "enjoy driving" friends. There are just a handfull of interesting A-spec events. Even those are ruined by some stupid decisions.
Dream Car Championship - It could make some awesome racing, but PD just throwes in a Jaguar Group C car.
Historic Race Car cup - They included a Toyota 7 and 2J, two cars which are way to powerful. Racing with a GT40 against a Mark IV, 330P4, XJ13 and a 2D would be epic - but PD ruined it.

Hm, Im a lucky one, I already got almost all cars I wanted, so I can still have fun online. But I still wonder what those blokes without internet are doing in GT5.

GT4 was much better balanced.

You do realize that the game has a near-infinite (well, as long as they want to keep churning out Seasonals) amount of events to do, right? And the credits you get from the Bonus races are quite high?

GT4 was no better balanced. It just allowed you to grind more quickly.

This patch might mean a quick death for GT5?
Hell no! 1.06 was brilliant. 1.07 is a bit meh, but seriously, did nobody expect PD to do anything about the exploits? We used them while we could, now we can't anymore, so be it.

On the online side of things there are now plenty of ways to gain cash: increased online rewards and remote racing. The only thing lacking is offline cash, which could be cured quite easily if they just add a system like GT PSP, where a custom event pays cash. 👍

For people playing offline only: don't get the update, you don't need if you don't play online.

It would be handy if we could sell expensive cars... I dont understand why they dont allow that...

True, but this was the case before 1.07 as well. And they're not going to remove that feature, because it's intentional. GT PSP didn't even have a sell feature. I think this is part of their big plan.
