Been putting in some practice, but I can't break 1:52 at Dragon Tail. Anyone want to upload some video that shows their inputs please :-) I'm ranked AS so hasn't been fun the last two days, need a better reference for how to drive. Thanks
Still having oversteer issues with the cars using my ds4, but doing low 1:48's with the Viper. Check out the tuning thread. Those guys got some nice setups.
You can change set ups for quite a few areas like camber, downforce, etc but yes the BOP is there for weight and power. You can't apply a tune in Sport mode...can you? I thought that's why the BoP is there.

No u can make setup adjustments (last week it was locked..this week u can change it) , BoP only limites the power and weight of the car
Oh, thanks! Well then, perhaps that will aid my qualifying times getting a bit lower so I can start more towards the front! Time to browse the tuning setups elsewhere on here!
Thanks for the video. Yeah exactly, if you driving too smooth your driving too slow and if you driving too aggressively you driving too slow. Got to find a healthy in between, I just can't do it on these races. I spent another hour and a half at dragon tail and barely got a 1:52. I was in the top three in qualifying and all the other three tracks from last week, now I'm in the bottom three. But then again I am in a Dr of B&A with a s sr....
be the turtle not the hareI still haven't won a single online race.
The trick to put in good lap times is to drive with less grace and instead really push it aggressively. The game doesn't punish you for going almost off track so you need to take advantage of that. This is why you see a lot of the top players completely destroying the curbs. Their driving style is just a small step away from actual cheating.
An example of the track in question:

Tune the Diff!! Very overlooked part for DS4 users. Reduce the Accel by 10 and reduce the initial torque by 2 or so. This will ultimately make the car understeer more on-power. But isn't that what you want ?Still having oversteer issues with the cars using my ds4, but doing low 1:48's with the Viper. Check out the tuning thread. Those guys got some nice setups.

I'm new to the game (less than 5 days played) with very minimal experience in driving sim (played some GT 5 in college but never took it too seriously).
After this past weekend, I was able to get my qualifying time down to 1.50.5 (currently driving with a controller on automatic), however I genuinely think I could shave at least a second off of this after watching that video above as I have been way too gentle through the chicane and I've been overbraking/on gas too early into the S bends throwing my line off.
I'm driving at B/B currently, but it's been matching me with some SR A's so I might get a promotion soon.
My only feedback is that a lot of these guys that have qualified in front of me with sub 1.50 times can't put 4 solid laps together without a mistake - I've finished top 3 at least 10 times and won 2 times putting up consistent 1.51-1.52 laps. There aren't too many passing opportunities on the track if you know how to defend inside lines so even without insane pace you should be able to finish top 5 if you drive consistently.
Granted this is at DR B where qualifying times right now are usually high 1.48 anywhere to low 1.53 (I've only seen a handful of 1.48's at DR:B) top qualifiers are usually 1.49.xx with 1.52 putting you around 10th.

FYI I've probably driven that course at least 70 times now, and when I first started I was sitting around 1.56, then just started chipping the seconds away until I plateaued around 1.52 - then in race I drove a 1.50.8 so I went back to qualifying until I went at least that fast.I managed a 1.52 once, then over a second off that ever since. Top time i saw in my races was about 1.46. Can't believe i could be so far off the pace. Will need to see where i can change setup as didn't realise that was possible in Sport mode with your own cars

If you're on a controller, use the GTR, turn traction off, ABS to weak, and gearing you can use manual or automatic upto you.
Just popped in here, read over the posts with you guys talking about "the fastest car, racinglines, aggressive driving, knowing the track, good tunes" and more. All of this is important. I noticed though that hardly anyone ever mentions the driving assists he uses ( similar to almost every new GTS thread ).
Another GTP member and great driver had a test this morning and found, that the countersteer assist gave him almost 1 second on Dragon Trail.
So I think if it comes to laptimes we should include mention the driving assists.
Pretty sure I said take all the assists off, seen as it'll give you buckets of time.
As for he countersteer assist, I haven't even seen that, are you implying that he should turn that assist on and he'll gain time?
