If anyone joins and shows interest you can direct them here by telling them to google "GTPlanet 86 Racing Series". The first result is this thread so they can't miss it.

That's cool and a very easy way to find us.

Some pictures from the last practice race. I did a 2:36,0 flat so getting better each day. Still hitting a wall every lap so enough to improve.

Has anyone pulled off a 1:32 (Edit: 2:32) lap yet? With or without tire wear?

(I don't know what's faster - low fuel fresh tires or time trial mode with no depletion.)

If everyone would be so kind as to send Rinsky and I friend requests on PSN that would really help going forward. Lobbies will most likely be private which means you need to be friends with the host to get in. This is part of reducing the connectivity issues that may pop up. Thank you for your time.

How are you guys a full minute quicker?! ;)

That's hot lapping it and not my race pace that falls in between 1:35 & 1:36

I sent out friend invites to everyone this morning.

@Rinsky - I would like to take-up the option of starting at the rear of the field for the first race (gives me the chance to follow you guys and pick up a few things along the way)

* Using the G29, did a custom race with Tire Wear: x2 and Fuel Consumption: x4 - managed a 2:36.023 with an optimal of 2:35.385

With that time starting up the back is definitely not necessary. It could be in fact more difficult having a lot of slower drivers before you ?

If you have trouble with dealing with drivers join our practice lobbies. But of course you can start at the back upon your wish. Just letting you know this.

For experience in take overs starting at the back is of course ideal. But if you are a lot quicker I do think you should be careful. There are enough drivers above 2:36/2:38 in this pack.

Just wanted to let you know that starting from te back could be more difficult. Dont want to influence your decision. This can be seen when we do a reverse grid race. Usually there is (a lot) more chaos when the slower drivers are front and faster in the back.

You can join our test session tomorrow ? And see and decide afterwards ?

@Macboyilija - It's an option I would like to take-up as it's also like an advance practice if ever for the reverse grid races if I manage to stay awake that long..
* Yes, looking forward to the test session as it will allow you guys to see if I will have lag issues.

Remember there is an official practice session tomorrow with Rinsky as our host. Apart from that their are private practice sessions almost everyday. If that is the case we will mention it here so you can join.

This should have been a private message but if you want we'll do it. We have another driver that wants to do this so they will be last and you would be second to last since they asked first. You still have time to decide though, are you sure?

Can't wait to see where I stand :D Hoping for a full lobby!

Guys check this link to see how it all can go wrong. And you can see what this Racing series is based upon !

https://www.supercars.com/videos/20...1000/multi-car-crash-mars-start-of-toyota-86/

I am sure we can do much better :)

I just watched that video the other day 👍

i also enjoyed this one: you can even see what gear he uses at each corner and compare with your own :D
the real series does lap times from 2:39-2:41, so we're 5 seconds faster thereabouts. (we also dont get hurt when we crash; physically anyway :O)

That guy has some pace! I'm dreaming that our race would be close to this clean, It's possible if everyone is on their toes and really mindful about their surroundings and overtaking spots.

Yeah I think in a game we push things as little Beyond what they are willing to do in real life. Like you said we don't get hurt but they do.

Last night me and infineon got off work early because of a part shortage due to the hurricane that slammed North Carolina. So I had a chance to sit at his house and play around with his wheel some more. I'm 3 seconds slower on the wheel than the controller but I'm also very new to a wheel.

Anyway my lap times ran in the 1:37 to 1:39 range from being cautious and that seemed to put me right in line with the real Series.

I'm pretty confident that if you get more practice with it, you will be a little bit faster with a wheel than a controller. At least that's what it was like with me, slow in the beginning.
