Road cars can't do a wheelie glitch as far as I know. On my (previously record) run of 323mph in the 3000GT only got the front end of the car really up. The wheels stayed on the ground, although the suspension was bouncing up and down.

That's what I thought. Tommorow I shall continue my quest for 300. I've actually gotten 310.XX in my 88C-V (my S7 is a different story, though). I'll post the proof soon, just need to get around to uploading my digital camera pics onto my PC.

So far, it appears no one has gotten a Saleen to 300... and I may not either. Can't seem to budge the brute past 290.70 mph. I'm so close! :indiff:

That thing can reach 294.xx in my hands. Have you toyed with LSD and the weight distribution, as well as ratios for 6th gear, etc?

I haven't been able to get around to the S7 thanks to the still-not-budging RX-8 LM Car. :grumpy:

vw nardo concept
300.42 mph

If you want to, you can check out the settings for the 88C-V in my sig, just to see how a typical setup are supposed to look like for a fast run.

The Saleen however, is yet to pass the 300 mark. Due to its lack of adjustable downforce, it is very hard to get the right aerodynamics to it. I have managed 297.xx, and I can´t really see any more in it. But I´m sure someone will eventually make it!

Yeah, downforce seems to play a big part in top speed. My saleen can only do 289, and thats only about 30min worth of tunning

I officially renounce the Saleen S7. It can rot and burn and explode for all I care. In addition, I also renounce all three versions of the Ford GT. There is no tuning consistency between them, making me have the impression that they are all glitched in some way, including the race cars.
Now, I go back for the Road car record and No NOS record.

Go for the road car record! but not the no-nos record:sly:

No one shall dethrone me!!!!!!!!!!!!!HAHAHAHAH
j/k go for it, I dont care that much, I curious of what car you will use though

dont be so sure that the S7 cant do 300 :sly:

was taken on my phone
this was done in free run mode though, did a few laps to make sure the settings were ok and did a few runs but kept coming short then managed to get an indicated 302mph :D
tried it in top speed mode though and it still isnt doing it!!!!! i swear all i need is another 100-200 metres and it would do it EASY!!! :(

i missed 10 minutes of eastenders doing this too :(

I did the same thing, but with mixed results
First I did a few laps without nos and then Idid it on the back straigh on my 4th lap and got 295.

If it has the room, it can get there

That is a perfect example of the Max Speed Test being way to short. And unfortunately, unlike the previous GTs, any attempts to travel backwards to gain the needed distance voids the test and the game won't record your speed when do make a proper lap.

i wouldnt say its too short, in gt you get a good 3-4 miles which is the same in a real life top speed record attempt(usually a 1 mile run up,speed then measured over a mile and another mile to slow down) or ( 1 mile run up then measured over a 1/4 mile and then another mile to slow down)

Yes, but real record attempt set-ups also lack a gigantic U-Turn that robs a car of potential speed.
true :p but if you test most of the cars most of them are limited by drag to around 250mph on the engine without nos which is the speed i can easyly carry round that corner ;)

It remind me on how they "improve" the ride height aero effect. In GT2, car faster with lower front ride height, everyone think it is a ground effect. PD thinking it was not supposed to be like that so they change it, in GT4, car faster with higher front ride height. Funny how they reverse it .

Guess what the ride height effect are in GT5..................

are we faster with higher front ride height in GT5 300mph thread ;)?

This make it interesting, PD want us to remember to tune the car for cornering too .

Too right there. Surely no one in there right mind would try and take a corner while doing, in some cases, 270+ MPH. And most certainly does the corner rob you of speed, it can also screw up your setup, usually with irritating amounts of downforce etc. just to make the car make the 30 degree hairpin, which really limit the cars performance in conjuncture with GT4 Physics.

But what can you do.....

I'm going to try and get a BMW M5 to 300 mph :dunce:

If it's not that, it's gonna be a TVR 350C :dunce: :dunce: :dunce: :dunce:

Well after hundreds of attempts using the M5, I got to 273 mph.

I'm not goning to go near the 350C, it'll proably go around 220 with NOS and best setting

What? My post has evaporated into cyberspace? Damn! Well, I'll paraphrase...

dear DE!
no pun or offense intended my 300mph mate! sorry if it seemed so.
it was just that it looked like some roadcars were missing but i forgot to check for roadcars in the racecar list.
and off course the tvr is not my car, it was just a manner of speaking.
cheers and thanks for all the work you're putting into this section of gtp.
Don't worry, my fault. Sorry if I was a little short with you earlier, I must have been in a pretty critical mood. I'll get your two new speeds on the leaderboard, the Nardo as well - nice job with that, by the way 👍

I'll not try to reply to the stream of debate on the Test Course, but for the record, I've no problems with it :p

I think if I get a spare minute, I'll put down my 350Z at Monaco and try to regain a certain old record... *evil grin* :)

*flicks back a page*
*goes back two more pages* Was it that long ago? Sorry Bigracer! :dopey:
