I hav'ent posted in this thread for a while, but I've been trying to get various (Tommykaira ZZII, Supra RZ, Sallen S7, BMW M5, TVR 350C) road cars to get to 300 mph, but I can't do it :( can someone help please?

don't think i'd get in the 300mph club yet but i still got stage 3 N/A tuning to go on my VeeDub Nardo concept :) at the moment with Nitrous it can do 430 km/h (i'm in Australia) thats 267 mph. almost there, almost.

Wish me luck :)

1. get the Mitsubishi 3000GT '95
2. fullspec it
3. tuning: rss tyres, softest possible suspension, longest possible gearing, no downforce, no asm, tcs 1, nitro highest power.
4. race it, go through the curve as high as you dare and time the NOS button well.

if any problems shorten the gearing a bit and try again. it should get to highest gear somewhere in the curve.
if i can do it you can too.
good luck.

George, easiest way to get into 300mph club is to check the member list and find fastest roadcar on it. I'd say that you'd have best chance using Mitsu 3000GT or Lotus Esprit. but, be careful with Esprit, it tends to get very nervous in the corner.

Ignore that.
And definitely ignore Opendriver when he's tired :p

Although I confess complete ignorance to 3000GT tuning, I know that's not the fastest way :sly:

Not even close. The '95 is slower than the '98 if you don't know what you are doing. The '98 is more of a beginners car. In addition, you need to gear the car in a very precise way, so you shift to 6th exiting the turn. If you gear the car right, TCS isn't necessary, and all it does is slow you down. And if you use min. downforce, you won't make 290. In addition, I've been playing with the idea that the 3KGT is faster when it is heavier, so that may also be false. Tires and suspension are right, but not complete. There is more to it than that, and you also have to adjust ride hieght and camber.

That's what I'm talking about, in a slightly more explanatory way :p

For the record, none of my fastest cars have minimum downforce and none of my cars ever have traction control :)

Neither do mine, I learned that when I was chasing after the LSR

Downforce on the other hand plays a key part in top speed; you have to get it just right. For example, if you take all of the downforce out on the GT1 and go race it, you top speed will be about 5-10mph slower. But if you give it a little bit of downforce you speed will increase, why? Go ask PD for the anwser,im sure they wont tell you...

But yes, you're quite right. Endurance racing has told me that downforce is the most important setting there is, after tyres. The importance of tyres, now I mention it, is often overlooked too (and R5s all round isn't the best way to go)

... and DE is supposed to know as he is our steward and has recorded a 350 mph speed, whereas i'm only in the 330's.
excuses for sounding like a wise guy, i was just trying to get a new member started.

:sly:

Actually, the only reason I'm not up towards 355mph right now is because of time constraints, and video recording isn't too easy for me. I'll get there someday to challenge Viper, the master pilot of R8s!

Leaderboard Updated
I'm working on it, Crimson... Sorry about the wait...

I just did 318.30 in a black GT-One :sly: Thats not the greatest, looking at all the speeds from the GT-Ones in the 350's. But hey!, I think I did pretty good. lol...this is my first post, too :dopey:

Can someone help me with settings for the ZondaC12S 7.3? I got a speed of 299.7, which is very disapointing. Does anyone have good settings for the car to have it achieve about 305-310mph?

Hi, my first post here. :D

I hit 354.75mph earlier today in a Minolta 88-CV. I actually have to run front downforce at absolute maximum just to keep the front wheels on the ground.

Anyway, not bad for a newb. My computer with a video capture card is not currently set up as I've just moved back from uni for the summer, so I'll sort out a screenshot and video (I've saved the replay) for tommorow.

Puts me #9 on the board once I put the verification here :D
