only thing in it that's keeping it away from the 300mph barrier is the total and utter lack of downforce.. :irked:

it's a Nissan indeed, but it's bit of a beast. RWD and all.. i wish I could find those missing six miles.

Haa wow the best I can do in theToyota GT One 345.833mph Stupid tires lol...
Lotus Esprit 350 322.671mph.
Pretty cool to see these cars go this fast.

If you want your speed to go on the leader board, we need some kind of verification.. The only kind that we accept are video of the entire run (350+mph records) and a simple shot of the session record screen if its under 350

Other than that, have fun getting new speeds!:)

Nissan R92CP Race Car '92
338.16 mph

Toyota GT-One Race Car (TS020) '99
349.71 mph

Hopefully you can see these Dark Elite.

I think I know what car Leonidae is using because I just started messing with a car that fits his description.

Indeed. I'll add to that by saying that videos must either include or come with a Session Record screenshot.

Nice work Fat Boy Drifter, those images are showing with no problem for me. You like your black cars ;)

Hey Crimson, we were starting to miss you again :dopey: well done with your beloved XJ220! 👍
I love battles like this, tiny changes for tiny changes... It's like the old Nardo wars :D

The Leaderboard will, hopefully, be updated tonight.

After Friday morning (0730GMT), I will not be online until Sunday at the earliest - I'm visiting family, so please expect no Leaderboard updates during this time and avoid posting speeds if at all possible. Thanks.

Ciao a Tutti / Hello to all

Now I'm busy in various races/contest in my forum/board,
i've also to develop my driving skills :O ...

Why, should you be? I did reply to your most recent pictures, the ones with quality so terrible there was no chance of making out numbers on them.. :indiff:

my first pics you accepted, of 215.50

Well.......

Here's some new schtuff:

...to reclaim ma' place as Undisputed King of the XJ220...

With the video just for teh hell of it: http://s61.photobucket.com/albums/h76/jagular14/?action=view&current=GT4003.flv

And now an incredibly fast lap...2:48 and change...and I do break 300mph in this run:

Nice run at Circuit de la Sarthe II. But if I'm not mistaken I'm sure I saw you wheelie on the Muslanne and that's when you went over 300. 300MPH on the Mulsanne is possible without wheelie as I've hit 311 mph (500kph) there in the Toyota TS020LM with simple gearing/downfoce/tubor adjustments. 320 is possible at Circuit de La Sarthe II and I'm looking forward to the challenge

Why hello Earth, long time no see...
Somehow I doubt (although I haven't watched the video) that crimson wheelies, although I'll leave it up to him to reply :p

Anyway, as the observers among you will have noticed by now, I'm back, and happily without any Leaderboard udpates pending... Thanks.

Earth, I was intrigued by your top speed statement so I figured I would see what would happen.

Hopefully without going too far off-topic.

I took my TS020 to La Sarthe II with the same settings I used for this leaderboard (turbo and NOS) and on my first attempt did no better than 304  At the Test Track this setup can go faster than that in 5th before hitting NOS.

About 20 minutes of fiddling with gearing and downforce got me to a top speed of 324MPH on the way to a (very evil and sloppy) 2:47:798 lap. Looking at the replay the nose of the car was pinned to the track until the top of the brow and then it would rise maybe two inches to aproximately its static attitude - despite adding rear and reducing front downforce.

Wondering what was going on I went to the 'Ring. With this same setup my speed stopped climbing at 246MPH at which point I hit The NOS button and promptly crashed under the bridge since I was looking at my speed and not the track. I didn't do another attempt but it was obvious that the car was behaving more or less consistently between these two tracks.

So, the point of all this is how/why is the behavior so different at the test track. Certainly I expected instabilty at Mulsanne due to the bumpiness of the track (which I got) and I really thought the car would wheelie as it caught air going over the brow (not even close to happening) - but the results are so different they make no sense to me. It almost seems as though the aero rules are different at the test track.

Comments / insights / conspiracy theories / wild speculations anyone?

This is still sort of on topic, and we're not exactly spamming are we?

My comment/insight/theory for testing at the Nordschleife, 2078TM, is to pray that you went along the straight backwards - it makes more sense in every possible way! For one, you will only be going uphill for a very short time (before the right turn when you're rearwards-oriented) and the downhill all the way. And on a 300mph setup, you are never going to get around the corner going the right way around the track to make any use of the downhill part - so it's totally useless. I got an Audi RS4 to hit 280mph at the Nordschliefe, put it that way! Try again :p

Maybe I should try my Audi there... Hmm, there's an idea :D Expect results in a few minutes.

I agree with going backwards yielding better speeds.

I decided to go to the Ring as a sort of tie-breaker to see if the car would act more like La Sarthe or more like Test Track.

I am thinking about trying both tracks backwards just to see what the impact of the tracks' slope is.

But what really hits me is the aero difference. At Test Track the struggle is to keep the front wheels on the ground while at the other two tracks it is difficult to keep the nose from dragging on the pavement.
