Just curious :)

Because I don't like having a huge backlog of things to catch up with, and I don't like to keep you guys waiting :p
There are all sorts of reasons, this is the main one, so if I ask that you don't post new speeds could you please take my word for there being a good reason? If there wasn't a good reason, I wouldn't bother saying it, so please don't go taking your own initiative. :dopey:

By the way, I'm back ;)

CCX, your photo (Post #4699) is unfortunately not acceptable as verification because it does not show the car name, thus I can't put it on the leaderboard. Sorry about that.

Opendriver is completely correct in everything he says to you, spishack316, and he saved me a job, so thanks :D

LewyMan, thanks for converting to miles per hour for us, that speed is now going on the Leaderboard! Welcome to the 300mph Club, let's see if you can fight your way higher up the 'Board 👍

Do you think he's who think I think he is, Opendriver?
If you're talking about who I think you're talking about, no (with a fair amount of certainty), he isn't.
That made sense

Opendriver
There DE, I gave you some room to play around with:D
You did, thanks mate :p but as it happens I didn't need it...

Thank you to my guys for keeping things under control while I was away, and for this I give you a little present... I'm sure you were all becoming rather tired of the radioactive yellow by now, and so I give you the...

here's my other pic to it. sorry about that.

bad pic. sorry.

315.50 MPH

Evil photo, but it just about covers it ;) I can read the car name easily enough. Could be 316.60, could be 315.50 or a mix of both, so obviously I go with 315.50, as it's the lowest possible and what you said anyway. I'll put it on the leaderboard soon :)

Thanks, just doing my part as a member:tup:

That format for the leader board is easier on the eyes, I would have to be like
bigeyes.gif
to read the damn thing!

EDIT:

DE, if you dont mind me being creative, I just might think up a logo for the club(kind of like the debate thing, but a 300mph-ish style

Can't get my Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 Turbo (J) '95 over 279.45MPH. Grrr I spent hundreds of thousands tuning that.

EDIT: I just looked at the leader board I saw it has been done. I'm working on it. Ok I've got it to do 281.38.

Thanks Opendriver, I hoped it would be much easier for you guys to read - I'd got used to it, but apart from it being radioactive and, dare I say it a little childish, it was old :p

Hmm, sounds like a good idea. Not sure how we could come up with regulations for people using it, I wouldn't like to see everyone on the leaderboard with one, but there's no harm in making one :) Go for it!

GT4_Rule
So you knew who I was referring to?
I'm perfectly entitled to use the name here, it breaks no rules for the board at all, but I don't want it mentioned in our thread again. So, let's just say our 368mph 'friend'?

MK1, glad you saw the Leaderboard to prove that it's not impossible to get the 3000GTs over 300mph - in fact, they're not averse to 320mph! Keep on pushing, try some odd setting changes and see what happens ;)

lthiele
has anyone got the Viper GTS on the leaderboard yet? i once got it past 280
You know damn well how to check that by now :dopey:
Oh, and by the way, that GT-R Proto link in your signature is extremely old and pretty inaccurate.

Okay sorry, but I wasn't aware that you we're away, and also I wasn't aware (then) that no posts were allowed. But I know for future reference.

Awesome as, thanks man, great to be a part of it all.👍
Can't wait to crawl up the 'Board :)

No harm done, LewyMan, thanks for co-operating :p I know it wasn't as easy to spot I was away, I'd simply edited a post so as not to bump attention to the thread, so I'll let you off this time ;)
It's just a guideline, you know. Makes my job a little easier, but your speed was the only one so it's no problem 👍

Just doin' my job :)

Well I've been fine tuning the 3000GT & testing it all night but still, my best is only 283mph. Getting there, 285.36mph.

If your stuck around 280 at the fine tuning level, then something is fundamentally wrong with your setup. I say this because I hit 314.xx mph the first time I took the 3000GT on the test track, just guessing the settings.

I'd suggest trying something radically different rather than trying to gain 17mph through fine tuning. Often you'll find that something you thought would work fastest is actually not that fast at all, and has been cripling the setup from the start. Most likely it's your downforce settings holding the car back.

You'll need to purchase the spoiler/wing to adjust downforce on the 3000GT, just in case you did not know that. In fact, any car that can have the wing can be tuned to go faster once one has been fitted (which is a possible hidden clue, given that the wing only increases maximum downforce, and does not lower minimum).

Anyway, good luck, I'm sure you'll get there! 👍

Like I say, MK1, try some odd or random settings changes to see what happens - you haven't reached the point at which you can start fine-tuning yet :p

And MS beat me to it, being slightly more helpful ;)

DE

Hey MK1,

Although I may get chastised again by DE for giving away more tuning tips than he thinks appropriate  I'll say this.
In your tuning approach keep in mind that cornering and, to lesser extent, acceleration are critical components of maximum speeds on this track. When I first started with the 300MPH quest I tried Boneville Salt Flats type settings (0 downforce, N1 tires, etc) and got nowhere until I noticed that each less sticky tire made me slower.

Dark Elite: no problem for looking after the club, as opendriver said, it's our job as loyal members 👍

opendriver: nice idea with the logo........i'm curious with what you'll come up!

keep on going with the 3kGT MK1 👍
