It's a shame, but it's definitely a wheelie. My Audi R8 still stands at 333.39mph, although I have got it to 333.95 I only managed it once. Some tuning and maybe 335...

It would be nice if rac3rX was just a bit more modest about his achievements, because they aren't that great, and modesty would be much more appropriate.

I have to say I like Couttsey's style a bit better. You seem to know what you're doing Couttsey, and you do it nice and quietly (and quickly), with evidence to back it up. Well done.

When I saw rac3rX's settings for the Speed 12 I knew he was dead wrong about chassis settings, and that's why it was so easy to go past his 304.14 speed with 305.55 in just a couple of runs. He wasn't even close on that one. Every single chassis setting chosen was 'slow' in my book. And his gearing choices were well wide of the mark, too.

Ozmac, I think you're quite right. Couttsey definitely knows what he's doing, but he lets the speeds speak for themselves... Hats off to him.

I never even looked the Rac3rX's Speed 12 settings, as I don't have the car, but I have recently found a nice TVR V8S, so I'll use that to get the Speed 12 and get 300 in it (if I can!)

hey ozmac,
what do you mean by his "slow" settings. i'll have a look in mo at them.... but wot are fast settings to you ( not the specific settings but for example high springs or low rebound, something like that.) if you can without giving to much away( i still like a challenge)
cheers

"Hello boys, I'm Baaack!" *imitation-quote from Independence day*:dopey:

now I'm well rested, and ready to jump on the seat of my Black LM supra. Today I WILL succeed in my topspeed run, I know it for sure..
but, don't hold your breath while waiting. :nervous: :dopey:

only thin i wish is, that i would have DFP, becayse keeping this beast on proper line in the curve is just pure pain on DS2.. oh well.. I'll manage without it, i think. laters, and wish me luck.

Dude, you guys are lame, there is NO wheelie. Show me a Pic with wheels off the ground As I see they there.

And Courtesy21's Run shouldnt even count then as we dont even see the wheels (Why is that?) from the over car view. This is getting lame.

HERE is a Wheelie

I find it interesting my set up was soooo far off when you only topped it by 1 mph and mind you it was tuned 6 months ago, lol I havnt even touched the set up since lol, as the real LSR is more of a real target.

ohh.. I'm crying out loud.. :ouch: I'm away for a short while and flame wars have been scorching this thread.. chill out, buddies? no more flaming okies? still, we're talking of game.. and we play fair game here. like i had to notice few weeks backwards when I thought I already had done 300 mph, but i was lacking 3 mph.. because I didn't make the calculations enough accurately. I just needed to keep trying, not whining and pointing out others mistakes.

just my 0.02 cents. *jumps back to his black 6.2 mile Supra and disappears to horizon* :sly:

I will have to say after close review, That I agree, there was a little "wheel off ground" action there.

No arguments about that.

So I took the GT-One back to the Speed Test, and made a few adjustments to keep her front down, and keep the speed up, and I was able to pull off a sweet 355.45mph clean with all wheels on the ground.

Click here for 355.45mph LSR Video

I also Snaped some Pics to show the wheels on the ground at diferent points of the straight.

Rac3rX......First of all I would just like to say I have plenty of respect for anyone on these boards/forums. Second, I would like to say that I feel your comments as quoted above are totally out of order. DE has kindly and willingly enough decided to be the judge for all the 300mph+ speed records and It's pretty obvious that anyone who attempts to get into the club or gain a higher position on the leaderboard are all treated the same with regards to "gaining" that privilege.

I myself am quite happy to let someone have a go at beating my record and rather than get big headed about it, I take it on the chin and keep trying to improve my attempts.

As for your comments regarding my run that beat your previous record, all I can say is that at least I try my best to proove that my runs are as genuine and original as possible by taking the time and effort to record a video as well as show that my downforce settings are at maximum to therefore reduce the Churchill Effect. The benefits of recording the in car view is that at least u can use the nose of the car to see how much it goes up and down but with the way you recorded it, the camera zooms in/out too much and does to much moving which can sometimes make it harder to focus on the wheels. (Wishes the game had wheel front wheel cameras lol)

Finally rather than end this message with a sour taste, I will say that I still have respect for Rac3rX, let's just keep amending our skills and keep battling. Thanks :)

Im sory if you took my comments as an attack at you, they werent. The run was disqualified for good reason as the wheels did leave ground, the benifit of the "Out of car" view is you can actually see if there is contact or not (As you can see in my lastest vid, my wheels were on the ground the whole time, I even snapped some pics for yah) the over car view shows the car bouncing and we dont see if the wheels break contact, adjustments to the Downforce are not the only way to get the front wheels to break contact, increasing the ride height in the front higher then rear and playing with it will also cause the same effect (This just makes it pointless to point out the Down force setting, however I commend your effort.) I also Like pushing the Bar thats how we got to 355mph.

I've yet to watch all of the videos you are posting Rac3rX, but the first one is a wheelie no matter how lame you think we are... Rules are rules. I will never ever be able to watch the 'THIS IS A WHEELIE' video you posted because of transfer decelerators anyway...

Thanks couttsey, and you're absolutely right, I do in fact think that the bumper cam is far better for checking wheelie-ness, not an external video that keeps changing shot. Unless you don't know the car well enough to know what angle it needs to be at, of course.

UPDATE - Rac3rX I've just watched your 355.4mph run, I don't like the small streaming video or the background music, but the car is not wheelieing so it counts. It's as impossibly close as it can ever be, but it's just about on the ground.

Keep on going with the Supra Leonidae!

Curse you Ozmac! You stole the French car record! Granted, your set-up for the '04 was probably miles better than mine for the '03 (I used only three gears on my run), but it still isn't very nice. At least the road car record is still mine...

I noticed the Pics were with the Dials Down, Soooo, I took some with the Dials up

I also Went tinto Picture Mode in Replay Theater and Snapped these Pics for you.

This Pic was while Hitting 355mph

Rac3rX said (about his Speed 12 "slow" settings)
"I find it interesting my set up was soooo far off when you only topped it by 1 mph and mind you it was tuned 6 months ago, lol I havnt even touched the set up since lol, as the real LSR is more of a real target"

Chill out, man. I was just having fun with you. Obviously you have lots of tuning clues, but I couldn't resist the temptation to use the word "slow" to describe someone so immodest about going fast. But, PS, was your 304.14 time in the Speed 12 done going in the correct direction?

And as for Mr Toronado of Sweden, where they make the fish, I'll get back to my drawing board some time this week and see if I can extract a little bit more from that rotten Lotus. I guess that makes me a bit "slow" for the next few days, too. But in the meantime, well done!

*comes out from his hideout* is it over?
and I'm still that annoying 0.15 mph away from 300 mph barrier!! :banghead:

wtf I am doing wrong.. i think i shall post my settings here tomorrow.. 'sighs* I'm on the edge of giving up.. :indiff: :(

Drop your spring rate as low as possible (Soft)

Drop your ride height low to the ground

put your auto to Max (mostlikely 25 for LM Cars)

And Drop your Final to like 2.500 to 2.800.

Leo's trying to get his road Supra over the barrier. Everyone seems to hit a wall in the high 290s. I'm gonna have a go tomorrow after Bob's finished Sarthe II for me (I did 6hours, that's enough...)

And then I'll be on 100%! Hurrah!

Edit: Goddammit, he's just done that driving into the wall thing! If he's behind when I get up for work in the morning...

Well, he'd better watch out, that's all...

I dunno, if you want a job to be done properly round here...

& GL with that, and welcome to the 100% Club when you get there.

Thanks, man. I think this is my 3rd attempt at this darn race. I'll probably end up having to do it all myself anyway.

If you still have trouble with it, just throw my set up on the Audi or Minolta, and let her run on level 3 turn off the TV and forget about it R4's up front R2 in the rear.Next day Race Done.

Back to the great chase!

Sorry, Toronado, but I was in your slipstream, and managed to slip past again on the straight...

311.75mph this time, thanks to lower order gearing tweaks mostly (I kind of ignore them sometimes in the obsession with 5th and 6th)

Rac3rX, dropping the ride height as far as possible isn't always the best way because it causes the Churchill Effect to do more damage. If you have springs to miniumum in a low car, then leave some clearance but in the Supra it shouldn't matter. Maximum auto gear is 25 for every car in the game, by the way.

Ozmac and Toronado, I think I'm gonna have to throw an Esprit into this little battle we have with it :) I'll get one sometime soon! :sly:

I think Leo, being that close you can just work on the NOS timing and be away... Or look at the powerbands and shift the final drive a couple of hundreths towards it... There's always something left out! :)

Leaderboard still pending update, I may have time now but if not it'll be about 1630 (GMT).
