Aha, was it that it was... I made 323 mph with an Audi R8 now, but I think the front wheels lifted. I at least felt the car was lifting, but I don't know if it was the wheels or only the dampers...

Save the replay and watch it, and you´ll see!

I watched the replay several times. It looked like the body was lifting... I couldn't see all of the points, because of the view...

Look at it in synchronized mode, there you occasionally get views of your front tyres alone. You may have to watch it several times though.

And just for info; the body may lift/jump without the tyres leaving the ground. Dark Elite refers to this as the "churchill effect". And the lift of the front can get quite severe before the wheels actually takes off.
The easiest way of knowing if you had a "lift off" is a rapid increase of speed just before the finishline.

:lol: nice comment. Sounds like stating the obvious, but there you go :p

The best way to find out if you're wheelieing is to run the replay from the Replay Theatre, and towards the end of the run go into PhotoMode and zoom in on the wheels. Usually that leaves no doubt 👍

I for one don't like sharing settings, not because I'm a selfish git :p but because I think it's more gratifying to get to your speed on your own. I'm sure some others will help you though :)

You bet! In my sig there is a link to a previous page in this thread. Use it! But DE is right, it´s more rewarding to get there yourself. But then again, you can see my settings as a guide!! ;)
 
Just wondering, can I use a pic of the fastest speeds board? Ya know it shows the top 10. I have like 3 cars and I figure that will be vastly easier than taking individual pics and having to run the cars again. And how in god's name did you get that heffer 3000 GT to do that? Those cars are pretty hefty....
 
good aerodynamics and plenty of time on test track, adjusting suspension and gear ratios.. and, after all, it has plenty of torque, just like supra and 300ZX.. and no, I haven't given up on 300ZX.. exam weeks just tend to take my time, so I can't do test runs as often as i wish..
 
First of all... Hello GT, after all this time I finally decided to join this forum thingy place as you suggested, So thanks on your behalf for me to spend some time and tell people my opinions 👍

300MPH is no longer a big deal, personally I have been tuning cars for years throughout the GT series, and reaching 300MPH isn't much of a task anymore, especially with cars that far exceed 900BHP

I don't do much "Speed Tests"
But so far I have got the Minolta to exceed 361.00MPH with the use of Nitro
And the Bentley Speed 8 to 295.71MPH also by using nitro
If I was to spend as much time tuning the Bentley as I did on the Minolta, I am sure the car has enough power to pull off speeds over 305MPH

Remember, if it's over 900 BHP then there is a high chance it will hit over 300, it’s all about matching the gears to the torque so you have constant power from the beginning of the gear range to the end.

As for you people talking about "Wheelies" I have never managed to make any of my cars do a wheelie yet though I hear that in GT4 the Wheelies have no effect anyway.
Common physics would dictate that a wheelie would actually slow a car down in real life as the rear chassis would hit the ground and cause friction kinda like "bottoming out". One would guess that a wheelie is achieved by having overpowered rear downforce and underpowered front downforce, As for the rest, I'm not sure.
 
The minolta after an oil change has 1223 BHP... That's enough to push that car way into 370+ MPH

The only problem is, fine tuning the gears to hit that speed and match the torque line, I have tried months and the best so far is 361 but i'm sure there's many people on this forum thing that have smashed my record clean in half with all the little tricks they know and all that complicated gizmo stuff about glitches and taking advantage of the game's slightly flawwed programming :sly:
 
Well it ihgt be small potatoes but this is what I have got soo far:
Audi A8 Race Car: 301.09 mph
Nissan 92CC Race Car: 300.04 mph

and that's it...
I been trying various cars I have sitting in my garage.
I was shoked when my little POS R32 GT-R pulled 277 mph.
I'm gunna keep playin with the other cars I got, like the GT-one, R390 etc..
hoping to jsut get em to 300 let alone over that. lol
 
Them Nissan race cars are capable of hitting 300MPH quite well actually, tune them to get the BHP into the 1000's then play around with the gears until it hits 300 without NOS, then use NOS to get extra speed on a straight.

The 4 Black Race Cars (2 Nissan's, Mazda & Toyota GT-ONE) are all capable of hitting 300MPH :)
 
ACP, if Nissans racecars are able to do 300mph, why wouldn't you give a try for Nissan GT-R concept LM racecar with 1100 bhp? because that car is has been bugging me for a long time. with such power should easily go over 300 mph, but 281 mph is the best I've managed to squeeze out of it.. and heavier 904 bhp twinturbo supra did over 300 mph rather easily after finding correct settings.. and chubby 3000 GT did the same. please, give it a try, will you?

Speaking as someone with experience in watching this, believe me wheelies make the difference between 350mph and 400mph.

I think what you say about power being the only measure is wrong - the Toyota Seven can't get to 300 and numerous Skylines couldn't do it either - to name just a few high-powered failures.

If you think you can get the 88C-V to 370mph, then I'd be happy to see you do it ;)

You may be right, but they're probably not in line with our rules so if you think you can get the Land Speed Record, go for it :)

Leo, I hadn't thought about the GT-R LM. Could be another high-powered failure :( but I'll give it a go.

As for pictures of the leaderboard, I suppose it is allowable but certainly not preferable. Normal rules for 350mph+ apply, though.

Oh, I've just noticed I've done over double the miles ACP has and less than half the percentage :lol:

That speed actually isn't very hard to get its just a matter of tuning and persistance. :)

P.S I've been practicing and shortly I will attempt a 370mph speed in my Toyota GT-ONE Race Car!!! (This is gonna be tough)

I will have a go at the Nissan GT-R concept LM Race Car and see what I can get, A lot of speed is lost thought the heavy use of down force, Spoilers can actually "Spoil" your speed (Heh...) in terms of trying to hit high, at speeds over 250MPH even having your Spoilers on half their total power is more then sufficient to achieve enough grip to the road surface, Any car can hit 300 if it's power exceeds 900-1000 BHP, Although I failed to mention, this is only possible IF the car supports a fully adjustable gearbox, I have never tried getting a car over 300 in Arcade mode, and the ONLY time I ever play in Arcade is with friends, on 2 player. So the gearbox is Essential to be able to tweak the numbers to match the torque's "power band". Anyway, I'll see what I can cook up for you.

Also in regards to the Minolta, If I can hit 361MPH though just spending some time tuning the gears, I could probably push a little more out of it if I lowered the down force, tweaked the last gear a little more & made the suspension stiffer, though honestly I don't think the game has a course with a big enough stretch to get the full potential out of any car. Well the Power & Speed tests are 10KM in Total (Whole course including corners), where as the Nurburgring Nordschleife track has a 10KM Straight and the Sarthe II circuit has an 8KM straight, so these are perfect places for high speed tests, Though be warned, the Sarthe has a bumpy road, so Softer suspension is advised.

As for going for a record, I'm not here to Compete, just help out around the community because my friend reckons it would be good to share some pearls of wisdom with other peers.

As for my Mileage, Yes, I spent no time on Arcade (because that adds to your A-spec Points & mileage) and I won almost every race the first time round, so I haven't had to re-do any of them (which would clock onto mileage if I had to re-do them), the races I Did lose is where I start the race then realise I left something in the oven, or walk away for some small job and forget to pause it (silly me)

Yeah, they make a diference. (384mph is the Wheelie LSR also in the GTONE.)

The Ring and the Sarthe Straight dont have a bank turn that allows you to get up to 290mph before entering the straight, and them being not perfectly flat there is not enough stability on either track to gain the speed, only the Test Track will allow it.

Why not a 361mph 88cv is impressive. Not a LSR but I think its the fastest Speed posted for a 88cv Vid would be needed though.

And the LSR has been stable for a while, Id like to see it bumbed up a bit.

Maybe read back in the thread a bit, as most of the Top speeds on the board have been confirmed with videos.

Id love to see some Set-Up's and methodology of achieving the speed you get in detailed reports, but only if you get a LSR, otherwise its not really worth it. (My Opinion, maybe others would be interested in it, just not myself)

This is now becoming quite tiresome. I'm sure the moderating team has quite a good idea of what is going on as regards two new members who seem very familiar with our systems, and us... I'm not about to say exactly what I believe to be happening but I'm sure it wouldn't take a lot of thought. I hope it will end here, we don't want five pages of spam to back up the five pages of flaming we had before.

That's quite impressive speed for GTO anyway.. anyways, the horsepower rating tells me that it isn't a 6.2mile one, like the one I have. i think I could go faster.. :sly:

At first I was like GTO?? That ugly jellybean POS? No way it did 300+ mph, lol.

Anyhow, nice to see the GT-ONE hit speeds like that, I stand corrected on my judgement of that car. Would never of expected it personally because it's pretty difficult to match the gears to the torque line but congratulations to whoever made that record anyway, although it's not a car I use much, it would seem I should fiddle around with it more often now I know it's capable of pulling speeds like that. Old Terminology here to learn I guess... "Never judge a book by its cover"

Nice speeds on the Mitsubishi's guys, Very impressive indeed.

Who are the 2 new members that are causing problems Dark Elite, if they messing up this nice place then take their IP addresses.

If they keep being troublesome, then give the IP's to me and I shall try help you guys out since my friend "GT" is on here, I would like to keep this place free of "Assholes" like anybody else would, On boards like this, people should work as a team to help keep the place enjoyable for everyone.

Anyway guys, I hope you all post in this thread often because it's the only one I visit, Music site, college, restaurant and other things have to be organised as well so I have no time to "Explore" more of this place and post around.
