ALFA GT
*overly large image*

HERE IS THE SCREENSHOT FOR MY RECORD!!!!!

PS. As special thanx goes to opendriver19a who showed me how to upload the image to my post...
Right. That car can't even pull 250. You gamesharked it. 👎

ALFA GT, that is completely impossible. I'm not one to reject things straight away, but that is totally and utterly beyond belief. It takes highly skilled tuners hours to get that car over two hundred and fifty.

And yes Toronado, you're right about that stupidly outsized image.
(I notice no apology for the quadrillion stuff  no worries about that. And 4.5million is a perfectly reasonable spend for the R8! I would've thought that, with it being twenty-four hours and all, you'd remember which race you'd done :ouch: )

Nicely done Opendriver! Seeing as it's over 350, it'll need a video for verification, but well done! 👍

You can't gs that kind of stuff in GT4
Just money and liscenses and wins.
Cars can't be modded. THe coding was never cracked for that stuff.
There is a super turbo cheat. I know you can't hybrid cars, but you can use these:
Double Acceleration

I'm guessing he used double or triple acceleration, because you can't even wheelie the car that high.

Sorry about the grammar issue. So far in approx. 30 minutes ive gotten the VR-4 up to 285.53. Ive got nos timed almost perfect and im pusing the gears around. did u guys use supersofts? My current settings ar as follow
Suspension:
F R
Spring rate:4.4 2.2
Ride height: 96 96
Bound: 1 1
Rebound: 1 1
Camber: 2.0 1.0
Toe: 0 0
Stabilizers: 7 7

Gearing: Autoset=25
Final=3.845
N20=70
Hold r2 from 3rd-5th at 7000rpm let go. 1st and 2nd let the comp do
get out of 5th at 240
I'll fix it for you:
Suspension:
F R
Spring rate:4.4 2.2
Ride height F/R: max/lowest
Bound: 1 1
Rebound: 1 1
Camber: 2.0 1.0
Toe: 0 0
Stabilizers: 1 1

Tires F/R: SS/SS

VCD: 50

Gearing: Autoset=25
Final=3.845
N20=70
Shift the car yourself. Set it so 5th goes by at 285 ish. Hit the nos at 265 (you should just be coming out of the turn.) Start at the top of the turn on work your way to the bottom at the apex, then let it slide back up. Shift to 6th at 283 MPH.
Stuff changed is in bold. Theres more than that, but that should give you about 305-310. What year is yours and is it a 10 KM (6.2 mi) special?

Oh yes it was...

Even at that, there is no way he could have reached that speed while staying within the rule of no wheels leaving the track at any time.
Yes he could, that's actually surprisingly easy.

I don't know why we're debating this really, it's blatantly cheating so we needn't worry... Although I didn't think there was that much you could do, Toronado...

I'm going to have to get going again up past 300mph... I haven't posted a speed for months!

How do you use those codes?

Don't quote massive posts, please!

Using a GameShark or similar cheat device, you go to the 'Enter New Code' (or similar) option on the cheat device's menu, and type them in.

Well, i've managed to get my Minolta to go to 567.10 KM/H (~352 MPH) without it doing a wheelie (thank god, i was having some trouble with the wheels earlier). I guess yet another speed in the Minolta would appear as old news as this car has already had more time in the limelight than any other i know of in the game. I wouldn't have the slightest idea of how to post a picture or video to verify my speed, although i don't really mind as the record NOS speed exceeds 368MPH anyway.

Good to hear you've overcome any problems you might have had earlier on Formula :)

There's a box below the message area on the Advanced Reply screen, that can be used to attach images, but a video is required to verify 350mph+ speeds.

how to do the wheelie glitch??? and do you noe how to tune the car to the max speed? i noe in front pages there are some tips but can sumone give clearer tips in steps cause i not very sure about car tuning. thx. and how to upgrade the FGT and how to tune the FGT to Max speed? wats the FGT max?

anyway i did a 271.6 on the first run with my 2j. i am confident it will go higher if i correctly tune it.

1. I object strongly to the wheelie glitch, thus I'm not going to tell you about it.
2. Yes, I like to think I do :p
3. The FGT can't be upgraded.
4. The FGT won't ever reach 300mph so don't waste your time!

That aside, , well done with the Chaparral 2J. So far as I know, nobody's got it anywhere past 280, it seems a lot less capable than it's older brother the 2D. It can't take NOS, and it's downforce isn't adjustable so it's hard to get it to 300mph. Keep trying anyway if you like, it'll be interesting to see if it can do more than we thought. 👍

DE

can anybody tell me wats the glitch about and i jus wan to try. no harm telling me :) . how to increase FGT speed to the max lets say 250mph.

can give some tips about tuning the car to max? jus tested my pescarolo 04 and i got 291.9. still trying

Well, I'll let someone else enlighten you on the wheelie :)

The FGT is a car I'm not experienced with, but I've heard it's a push even to get to 250mph! As I hate B-Spec in any situation, I haven't got the FGT yet, as it'll take some free time to get all twenty-four hours done at the Nordschleife. Thus, I can't give much advice on the FGT car.

As for general tuning, make the car as soft as possible and as high as possible at the front. This covers nearly every setting there is. And it also can cause wheelies in you're careless.

DE

DE, a couple of things.
  1. Don't doubt the 3-Speed king. I've gotten the 2J to 287.XX (I'm not near my PS2 at the moment). :)

  2. Looking back at old posts to find a picture of a wheelie I knew was posted by Rac3rX for helping Hleb, I came across this post here. It seems to me that this Lycanthor was also known as Rac3rX. The fact that the screen grabs look identicle and were stated as using the same tools to make them, in addition to basic post structure, I think I can safely say "Lycanthor" was known other than Rac3rX. Just to let you know.
@Hleb: A wheelie is when the game tires to simulate aerodynamic lift caused by air getting under the front of the car. The game doesn't do this very well, so not only does the car not go crazy on a flipping madness...thing, like this:
CLRflip1.jpg

(that's 3 times I've tied that image into this thread DE  )
Instead, the game does this:
img000540xu.jpg

Now, for some very odd reason that probably has to do with physics terms I wouldn't understand (or maybe it's less rolling resitance, or maybe it's just a bug), when you do this, the cars acceleration rapidly increases. So if your flying down the straight and your car just randomly doubles it's acceleration, it's most likely due to a wheelie. Production cars cannot do this (at least the majority, I haven't tried every production car in the game of course). Based on my experience, you either need stupid amounts of power and torque (like the Pagani Zonda C12S 7.3), stupid amounts of power and some downforce (like the Lotus Esprit) or both (like the Mitsubishi 3000GT) to pull 300MPH. That is why it is so hard to use cars that don't have downforce at all (RUF CTR2, max speed: 294.76 MPH) or too much stock downforce (Saleen S7, 298.71 MPH). But none of the production cars with downforce added will wheelie, barring (maybe, as I haven't tried it) the Nissan R390 GT1 Road car.

so only a few car will do wheelie? eg. like?

high in the front that means putting the wings as low as possible? and downforce as high as possible in the back?

About all cars that pull (adjustable) downforce should be able to wheelie, although roadcars are less proned on it, and thus harder to wheelie. Maximise rideheight in the front, ddrop it to lowest inthe rear, all suspension set as low as possible, min DF front and max rear. Got it? It´s highly overrated as an experience though.

i used the pescarolo to try wheelie but still cant. anyway can anybody teach me how to win the FGT championship wheere there are all kind of diff f1 cars...

You have to reach 250mph before the car starts taking off. As for the FGT championship, do the 24 hrs of Nürburgring and win a FGT and then it´s a piece of cake.
