The...what?
Neon sign....rules....neon sign....I can't see the connection :nervous:
He was replying to suchayo, who had said this:

I think it's better if you put the rules at the top of the first post DE, and put link to the leaderboard at the very top with a very BIG font too. maybe with blinking pointy finger, disco light, and "You must read this" sign.
Anyways, I have broken the 298 MPH barrier with the S7. I'm starting to think that this will be slow and painful like the 2D was at first. All we need now is for Ozmac to come back and beet me to 300 MPH with it like he did with the 2D. That would be great. And, also, version 1 of the Ford GT (of all of them, it was this one. How weird.) has also broken 298 MPH.

I knew it had something in it!
I still can't understand why though. It has 40 less BHP and somewhere around 200 more kg. than the other two versions of the road car (which are deadlocked at nearly identicle 297.78 and 297.81 MPH for Version #2 and #3, respectively). It's pretty weird.

Still, I'm going to try :)
Good luck. 👍

As depicted here?
nice arrow :).

This mean, there could be other weird car, where it has less hp than current 300mph car, but capable to be faster, interesting...........

Personally, I think is has more to do with programming errors related to the Ford GT road cars than it has to do with the GT4 physics engine. Their are many more oddities between the 3 different versions of the road car than just that.

I see, it could be data entry error too, meaning there could be inconsistency somewhere between displayed hp and actual hp, or weird wind resistance, or downforce, etc.

It's interesting because there could be sleeper car. Seem slow, but actually very fast ........

Thanks Opendriver (Post #2935)

As for the suggestions for the rules... Well, I think you're right in saying that people are just skipping straight to the last page and ignoring the first post, except FERGU$_MANERGU$ who shows that he read the first few posts but somehow ignored the rules. Hm.
I don't want to edit the thread title, it still stands as it has for ten months now (Really that long now :sly: ) and it sounds nice and grand as it is. Perhaps I'll put a note at the top of Post #1 referring to the rules. I don't really think having the rules at the top would look good.
I could link to the rules from the leaderboard, but nobody seems to look at that either.

OK, here's my plan of action now...
  • Thread title remains unchanged
  • Note placed at top of Post #1
  • Leaderboard link placed at bottom of Post #1
And if there's any more problems, I'll link to the rules from the leaderboard as well.

The neon signs might be a little over the top :p

Good to hear of your breakthrough with at least one GT, Toronado... Keep it going! It does seem very odd that it's that one, though... Another anomaly in the physics engine, I guess.

We're heading for the 3000th post mark..
We are indeed, I wonder who'll get it! :p
By the way, I like the new avatar! (But what's with the trigonometry reference?)

Hi Bigracer, and that's a good entry with the 3000GT! Nice and easy open format here, we just post photo evidence in the thread (Session Record screenshot). Look forward to adding you to the leaderboard :)

DE

so, i'm back, free from school with a lot of time for new records *gg*

zocker_16, it's a hard fight with the SL 65, but even if you beat my record, i was the first to make it real.....
good luck with the S7 and the Ford GT opendriver & toronado!
nice idea with the rules and the signs D.E., go for it!

and here are the pics of my records: Lotus Esprit - 310,89; TVR Speed12 - 310,89; VW W12 - 301,19

Nice going Viper, exactly the same speed in the TVR Speed 12 as the Esprit! There's a bit of a power and weight gap :p but both make me proud of British engineering!
Good job with the VW Nardo W12 as well, that gave a certain pair of tuners a lot of trouble first time round :p

Leaderboard Updated

DE

Well, both the Blackpool racer's (Speed 12) and the Lotus' speeds are third, as you know, but you'd have to gain almost 6mph in the Esprit to get the top spot from Toronado. With the TVR, however, Sucahyo's record is a mere 0.94mph ahead! Go for it 👍

DE

Leonidae
couldn't it just be the cars inertia that causes it?
Possibly, but I would think that the cars 40 BHP deficit would more than make up for it. In addition, the fact that the other two versions are nearly tied confounds me.

post a new one niallz06!

thanks D.E., i'll try to improve my speeds, maybe a new record will come.....

Having 40HP or not can cause some speed-lack Toronado, but don't you think that this difference is a bit too much for 40HP??

aww man my record diddnt get posted
Yes it did...

Slot 112, Mitsubishi 3000GT '96 @ 312.99mph. Yours.

Having said that, it's now down to Slot 113, as Bigracer's two first speeds are now up 👍
Leaderboard Updated

I won't pretend to know why these GT anomolies exist, it's got me confused...

No :( It was ages ago I've started a new game now.

Don't put me on the board if you don't believe me it's ok

DE, im going to start to make templates to post for new users that jump into posting so quickly. So all of the "new" posters, I urge you all to reads post #1 and folloe all of the rules.

@GM- Yes you do

One thing missed out of Post #1 could stop people constantly asking who to PM (Who started the thread? Pretty unintelligent question anyway), so I'll fiddle Rule 1 to make that one clear too.

But the low BHP one (Version 1) is the fastest one of the three!
Oh, and Saleen S7: 298.47 MPH.

OH MY :censored:ing GOD!

I got the S7 to 294.55mph, no more! :ouch: :grumpy: :guilty: Its pretty annoying when 300mph is right in front of your eyes and you just can't make it....

Maybe because I forgot to give it a oil change when I first bought it. It's got 895hp with NA Tune-up Stage 3.
