Welcome to GTP, and that's a pretty good first run. You'll need a screenshot of the speed to official-ize it, though.
Yep, he PM'd me as he said. The Update I posted just before was his speed.

It's good to have you back, I-Runner, the roadcar destroyer ;) Keep 'em coming! And we have a new car, the Mistubishi FTO SuperTourer - It'd been in my mind to test that for a while, but you beat me to it! Nice job!

Hi MasterStorm, pretty neat first-time speed, and thanks for following all the rules... Hope to see verification soon 👍

thanks for roadcar destroyer ..

i think that the FTO limit is very high (±302-304) , so you can improve the speed 👍

And you can imagine my face when i've seen the front wheels of ZZ2...up :boggled:

At the end i checked carefully the replay for ZZ2 and FTO ..before to post the speed ..

EDIT
i've posted another speed this morning (3000gt '98) @ 322.24 (post #3206)

I was messing around with the downforce and gear on the woodone supra and pulled a 296 out of it. In the right hands, this care is more than capabale.....

Heh, I'm down to 14th now. Used to be 11th...:grumpy:

Anyways, my exams are done. But then my computer breaks down. Now I have to use the library computer - jeez, how I hate my computer.

Can someone help me with settings for the ZondaC12S 7.3? I got a speed of 299.7, which is very disapointing. Does anyone have good settings for the car to have it achieve about 305-310mph?
naaa-naaa nananaaah

i tried the weird looking zonda for you. this car has no adjustable wing. so what did i do in contradiction to the 300mph club? i reversed front and rear height (front min/rear max) and gave it a spin. this is what i got:

301.78

it's only the second best time but i'm content.
so, paganiman: you give it a try and see what you can reach.

also, i gave the mitsu 3kgt '98 another spin. now i'm at

310.40

so DE please insert the first one and make an adjustment for the second one. taaa!

ps proof will follow but now i cannot connect my nokia to the pc to upload :ouch:

I'm gonna have to stop "not playing GT4" and start "playing GT4." I want my 3KGT record back! And the no-nos record. And if there's time, probably the overall (most likely with the same car). At least my Esprit record is safe and sound. Ha ha ha!

I got 301.90mph with both ride heights at minimum. Im trying to get to it beat the record for the fastest 7.3:sly: , which is 310mph.

Maybe I'll give the FTO a shot, I-Runner, not to take anything away from you but just to see. And I haven't held a record for a while :p

After the proof.

 at Opendriver... Maybe I should try an Esprit sometime! 👍

Thats IF you do ;)
You almost sound like you don't trust me... :nervous:

Guess thats fair tho as I am new here and my post may have seemed a bit... bluffy. :)

Here's the required stuff...

Screenshot is to verify the exact speed, as it only gives it to one decimal place at the end of the video. You probably all know this already anyway.

It would've been better if you let the video run until the 'Session Record' screen came back, to eliminate all possible doubt/scrutiny. You see, the decimal figure just after the run is quite inaccurate, and people could post a picture of a better speed because of this. I don't doubt your speed, but it's just a tip for next time...:)

Great speed btw! Look forward to seeing a challenge from you!👍

As I said in my initial post yesterday, I didn't have the PC with the video capture card set up, so getting the session record part wasn't really feasible. I saved the replay, and this morning I recorded it from the Replay Theatre instead.

Also interesting to note is that often the speed shown as session record, and the speed in the records screen can differ by 0.01MPH, with session record being the faster of the two.

Hoping these little factors wont affect the validification process. I will try to get it all in the video next time. :)

Don't worry about it mate, It looks pretty good to me (now where's DE got to...). I can't be bothered with this fancy capture card stuff, just record my TV with a digital camera. Easy as pie.

Heh. Now its setup, I should just be able to switch over the output cable on the PS2 in future.

I really think I'm approaching suspension and ride all wrong... you may have noticed in the vid how much the front is bouncing about. If I can get that sorted I think I'll be able to raise my speed a little, though currently everything I try is slowing it down.

I have a solution for bouncing: don't use race cars. :sly: real topspeed chasers use Roacars, because there's more challenge in them.:D

I'm curious. What is the lowest powered car to reach 300mph, and how much did it have?

Really hit a block with the 88C-V today. Really not sure how I'll make the 12mph difference to challenge you FormulaGT.

I'm stuck in a situation where my suspension seems unstable at the high speeds, but the only ways to make it more stable (reducing front ride height, stiffer front suspension, raising rear ride height) all lead to lower speeds. I reckon if I can stop the thing bouncing and just stay 'up' in the air (albeit with grounded wheels), then I may be able to garner a few more mph. It may be that the bouncing is got by everyone, but I really have nothing to go by.

I'm also thinking of totally redoing the gearing. My exit speed on the corner is only around 285mph, which maybe seems a tad low. Again tho, no knowledge on what others are getting here.

On a more positive note, I'm getting close to taking the Pescarolo record. I'm currently at 343.71mph, but I have a few more avenues to explore before i'm done there.

when I make a speed I already now that someones will be faster than me...
but this is the good part of these competitions .. 👍

I think the FTO Tourer (693hp) ..but i'm not sure !

My top speed, probably the last, .. for road cars :)

Possibly the 3KGT, which has like (don't quote me on this) around 878-ish. Or maybe the McLaren F1 GT-R, which has around 830-something. You generally need 900 to do it though.

300ZX is one possible too, with 880 bhp. but I think there are some sub 800 bhp cars that have done it.. 💡

I was only joking Storm, thats why I ;) ed

:)

Just attempted to get 300mph out of a 10 grand 3000GT, Stage 3 NA Tune made it go up to around 370bhp

Heh, I want MY 3000GT record back too...I never thought someone will overcome the 2mph increase in my speed compared to the older one...
