After having my picture refused by Dark Elite :crazy: I had to have another go at the Gillet unfortunately i couldnt get the pictured speed again :sick: however i looked at one of the replies i got to a previous post and someone had said fiddle with the suspension settings so i said to myself me why not. Anyway after a quick mess about with the camber and toe angles I was shocked to get 306.41!!!! finally! im getting close to the record....



just need to find an extra 2mph or so to beat that record.

Also whats the record in the Caddilac Cien?

Thanks, im now on a mission for the rest of the week to find the extra 0.97mph i need to beat the Gillet record lol. oh and by the way i got 310.50Mph in the Caddy so im getting close to that record to....



Gonna go and kick my brothers of the PS2 now lol and have another stab :sly: (one of the advantages to being the oldest :) )
 
Here's my 300mph with the GT-One, got 318.



I also tried it with the 2005 Z06 (C5) Corvette but got around 230 became impossible to control and I found myself spinning and flipping out of control regularly.;)

When talking about super high speeds like 300mph, the torque and power needed to keep the car increasing speed is immense because air resistance grows with the square of speed. Just to put this into perspective, the power required to go 200mph is 37 times more than to maintain 60mph so just imagine what the resistance at 300mph is and how much power is needed to get there.
 
DE, AFAIK 1888kg is the dry weight of Veyron. add the driver and transmission fluids, coolant, differential oil, hydraulic oil for the wing etc and oyu're beyond 2 tonnes with ease.
 
you need to achieve 493km/h in order to get to the club. read the first post of the thread just to avoid mistakes.

Ouch. I just knew that as a weight figure, I guessed without driver, but I didn't think it was a dry weight. Now it's even more of a triumph over physics, don't you think?

Just about given up on tuning the Tommy Kaira, I know what I'm trying to do with the car but getting it to work is another matter :ouch:
Even to get it to this stage I've had to completely change the gearing and used some pretty weird settings.. I hate to imagine what it takes to get this car to 370+

Congratulations with the speeds though; you're a good tuner and so I'm sure that soon things will click for you. I don't think it'll be too long before we see another 370+ speed. 👍

For me it's more of a case of learning to walk before running, and cheers for the props.. reading that was sort of like being up for receiving honours.

I'm probably going to pick up where I left off on the Escudo first before trying again with the ZZII - someone posted on my setup saying they managed to take it to 305mph with hardly any changes; I'm sure you'll understand that I'm fairly sceptical but I'll try none the less.

Once again cheers for the PM and i'll take that into account, looking forward to seeing the 380+ run.

380+ takes a very decidicated tuner, as the financial outlay for that kind of speed is astronomical; when you start to purchase specialised tyres that wont melt, reinforced body panels and advanced helmets to stop the drivers head exploding from the sheer velocity, you soon start to rack up a huge bill. :dopey:

Well, you are currently the closest contender to achieving it (on the 4WD side of things that is). I think you're also currently the 2nd fastest tuner in the UK and one of the top 5 quickest in Europe, so any props are certainly deserved. 👍

I just noticed that your BMW McLaren F1 speed is a new record for the car. It puts me, ShadowDiabloS and yourself a mere 0.09mph apart, so things could soon get pretty interesting.

I've tried everything I can think of from an oil change to slight adjustments to the gearing, different lines and different places to start using the Nos but nothing seens to work :grumpy: I suppose I'll just have to keep going around and around and hope I get lucky :)

Results: First run 309.17mph and then second run 309.67mph. Now that would be new record speed but since its not my setup I don't want that record. So Pyrelli get back to test track and try it once more if you can match my speed. And yes front is bouncing little bit in the end but nowhere near to wheelie.

If it's got too much mileage, then it'll lose hp permanently. it might be time for a new car. Some of us here, when attempting for records, might go thru 2or 3 cars trying to get past them.

Ah, nice speed and glad to hear that it worked :)

If I'm honest I got a bit frustrated today looking at the setups, by the fact no-one ever gives feedback or in some cases even realise what they're looking at.. admitedly far from perfect but I guess it takes a fellow high speed tuner to know what they truly are.

I'm quite taken by your honesty and cheers for letting me know how you got on with the setup. Incidently, just this morning I made what appears to be a more stable setup which I'm going to put up soon (if I remember I'll send you a PM to let you know). I assume that you was using different gearing to get that record speed so I've probably got a bit of work to do first, or maybe it could just be that my car control sucks (using a well used DS2); either way, I'll take it back to the track and see if I can get any more speed out of it.

Edit: I second what Crimson said, I've been through quite a few Skylines and ZZIIs, as well as spending the time to look for a low mileage Supra. Sounds sort of vain, but new is always better.

That's what I told myself when I couldn't get a GT-One over 330mph in 2005 ;)

Anyway, nice work, Pyrelli - I always feel a certain attachment to the McLaren, one of only a handful of cars I broought to the Club myself :)
Keep pushing the Tommykaira higher - like MS says, it'll start to click for you in the end. 👍
