Hi guys. I'm looking to get a Thrustmaster TX Wheel and some of them already have the latest firmware already installed. How do I check to see what version of the Firmware is already installed? Do I have to plug it into a computer or is there a way of checking it on the wheel itself (like with Fanatec)? Thanks.

Yes, you need to: download drivers to a PC from the Thrustmaster support website, follow instructions installing them (don't attach the wheel via USB until it tells you). Once the drivers are installed, the main configuration window shows you which firmware your wheel has. There's also a firmware update function both in that screen and in a separate application it installs to your start menu.

It's easy to hook the wheel up to a/somebodies laptop, takes about 5 minutes to get the whole process done including firmware update.

Looking to get a TX soon also. Thanks for the info.
Do hope it is the correct firmware is installed on purchase as have heard horror stories of updating causing problems with the wheel.
