Don't have the T500, but I bought an el-cheapo "Thrustmaster Ferrari Experience" wheel last week. It doesn't have force feed back, but I'm still massively faster than with the DS3. It set me back only 49 bucks. It's the best compromise between being frustrated with the DS3 and using the advantages of a wheel (mainly better throttle and brake control). If you want to do some serious racing, you're better off with much more expensive options though. Just look at what hardawre has its own section in GT5's options menu. That's all wheels that are fully supported. If you're getting one of those you really use all the advantages there are by using a wheel.
