Hi Guys/Girls, General GTPlaneters :).

This thread really is all about providing as much GT content as I can to yourselves and the Gran Turismo community. I produce a wide variety of content to either help with developing driving technique, to conquering a given time trial or track to even just a good hard fun race :). I've split the main bulk of my videos into the 5 subjects below but as you may find I do like to venture out with regards to videos, which can all be found on my youtube page!

If you'd like to subscribe to the channel feel free to do so, but I'm not really aiming to be the biggest youtuber around, as I just want to provide some nice content that people will enjoy!

On that note take a gander at a few of the videos, I'm sure you'll enjoy them and maybe you may learn something, or get that urge to go and do that extra race!!

The Road to GT Academy 2013 is a driver development / Training idea I came up with to help me stay as best I can at the game and also maintain fitness, and to help you guys also improve so you have the best shot at making GT Academy finals and also making yourself be the best driver you can be!

trackguides.jpg

Track guides was an idea brought up by a few people something I should do after I was asked quite a few times braking points specifically. Essentially these guides are short, quick videos to give you a general guide on the racing line on a given track, braking points, priority corners, areas to watch, pit lane information and much more! Simply pick a track that you might want to look at a bit further. E.g. How long will it take me to do a pitstop on Autumn Ring, I'd look at the Autumn Ring track guide.

Currently Available Track Guides:

Autumn Ring: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8wq7fYfvsuk
Daytona (Road Course): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=doi1584bgVM
Indianapolis (Road Course): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lllc7681ItQ
London: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7NhuzC-EPU
Monaco (Cote D'Azur): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67emi0K9elU

driverimprovement.jpg

Similar to the Road to GT Academy series, but specifically looks at areas drivers could improve through any other means. An example would be a look at a specific drivers lap and then how they can improve. This specifically will be starting in the summer period, with more information to come.

GT5 Playthrough (Very good if your looking at developing any area): http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbG5l8Fs0KOYPq1h9XcnkpjrZMyccwyyy
GT5 B Licence: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbG5l8Fs0KOYELK3tGO5PDTlFpcBXPk3v

ttforumbanner.jpg

Essentially all the time trials I submit to will end up on youtube, as it can help improve drivers in the future, or just as an historical perspective. Rather than link the vast amount of time trials they are linked in easy to follow playlists where you can select an individual time trial that has taken place. I also look at lap vs lap comparisons in these time trials because it's all very good seeing a good lap, but seeing how a lap goes vs somebody else with analysis can really help open eyes, and develop you as a driver!

Cheers, had a quick look at your videos, looks like you have quite a following :)! I'll add to the subscription leaving you 1 till the magical 1 thousand :D!

^^Thank's for uploading those video's, should be of help to some people! 👍

*edit*

Just watched the Leaf video (1-4 @ Eiger), didn't think about lifting off the throttle instead of dabbing the brakes...will try it!! :D

It's no problem at all :)! If 1 of the videos helps 1 person it will have been worth while :), for the recording, compression and upload time!

I'm giving each event now a proper look into to improve times I did 2 hours on round 1-1 tonight, managed to get down to a .378 (was 28th at the time) not really doing much more on that one to be fair, as it is a little luck along with precision :). Will be looking at round 1-4 more in depth once I get to it :)

If you have any questions with anything feel free to give me a shout :), will be happy to help!

I watched your GT Academy 2011 DS3 lap, I'm not sure how I would compare because I never attempted the event with my DS3. Judging by how smoothly the lateral G meter moved from side to I'm guessing I wouldn't come close to your time. If you ever see any of my laps the meter is jerking all over the place. :D

hehe, it was a good lap (Well best in EU, possibly world I'm not sure what Samurai got from Japan) there was still 3 tenths I feel to get on the Pad at the time but getting a perfect lap when your on the limit so often in that event was pretty tricky :)! I was at my peak at the time with the Pad so they were some pretty insane runs! I probably would have improved but I had to switch to the wheel at some point and that was it after I made it into the 16's :)!

A good thing to try with the pad is to go on a track, or even current GT Academy and practice precision and slight movements with the sticks, will improve steadiness for sure!

I can be steady when I get into my rhythm but it's so easy to panic and ruin a lap when you know you have little room for error. I'm definitely going to get a rig this summer for my wheel and hopefully you will see me up near the top of the leaderboards more often. ;) Thanks for the advice by the way. :)

It's not a problem, and it is very easy to panic when your on a good one :)!

My best times with the leaf not putting anymore time into these spent between 30 mins - 60 mins on each of them still time to get especially with 1-4 and 1-5 but you'll see my technique (Different to all the leaders) good luck with them:

^^sweet! Thank's for the upload's, now I won't have to go back and forth with the in-game replays. :D

haha no worries, I figured alot of people would prefer youtube videos to having to constantly switch between screens in GT :P!

Hey Tidgney,

great idea with the Videos. How do you make them? do you film from Screen, or have a kind of converter? I would like to set some Videos online too.

Regards

Daflow

Hey Mate,

I have a capture card (Blackmagic Intensity Pro) so my Playstation plugs into my PC and I record it using the software it comes with. You can get other capture devices to! But the expense increases with the quality :(. With this I can livestream but currently my room is to small, but I'm moving house, and my bedroom size increases by about 3 times so all good then :)!

Here are my latest videos for all of round 5 puts me 10th worldwide overall on round 5 not to bad for about 1hr 40 mins work!

Round 6 Videos for your enjoyment :). There's 2 of Round 6-3 because I do use the full limits of the track if not penalised so both just the track and the concrete version is available (Read the descriptions as well for the full reason). 6-5 is without hitting cars (As that is a penalty which sometimes doesn't and sometimes does apply so I don't do it as PD didn't intend this) and still maintains a high position on leaderboards with a 1:04.767. Enjoy!

Just to add some additional things;

- Apologies for the delay of Round 6!
- Now aiming for rank 1 in the UK on total times as done in this leaderboard (http://www.mygranturismo.net/rankings.php?sec=1) which means new best time videos will be being uploaded over the next week :D!
- Any questions feel free to give me a shout!

Hey all,

Some updated times for you (Also updated on the first page), with rounds 1 and 2. I know 1-4 has already been uploaded but listed the first 2 rounds again with all improvements and current best times! This puts me upto #1 in the UK on total time again (http://www.mygranturismo.net/rankings.php?sub=overallTop5000_1&start=0), I'm not putting hours on end in here just enough to keep that spot :). Currently working on Rounds 4,5 and 6!

As always any questions feel free to ask!

Are you gonna post anything from 8-5?

Yes sorry for the delay been a bit busy, and just trying to get the handling of the car right as I don't want to use Active Steering, but it will be posted tonight at about 9pm BST

Cheers, does AS help in any way? I've seen people short shifting to keep the rear in check

Erm I think it depends on your driving style, I certainly don't like it so won't be using it, it's best just to see and then play it by that.

Latest time (31.5):

Nice video Martin. I started to use the 3rd gear exit method yesterday, & reduced my lap by 1.10 seconds. But do find the car to be very different from last years car, which I was practising in for a few weeks. This car has poor grip to power ratio, and is very similar to a wet track. I will be happy with a top 500 UK place, so just a bit more to do, hoping for a high 1:32. Good Luck, I see a 31.0 coming for you soon.

Nice one it really does aid traction on the exits, you can exit in second and probably gain 0.5 mph - 1 mph but the risk is so much higher for that extra little bit. Hopefully I'll get my .0 or less tomorrow :)

It's finally here,

The Tutorial on rounds 8-5 in GT Academy, apologies for the delays but when it takes 9 hours to upload 2 hours to process, and 4 hours to compress you can see why it takes such a long time!!!

The video is fairly long so if your after a specific corner feel free to just check the timestamps in the description and you should be able to navigate to that particular corner very easily. I watched it fully through myself and I'm quite surprised how engrossing the video is!

Anyhow any questions you have feel free to ask! Otherwise Enjoy the Guide!

Hey guys,

It's been awhile but I thought I'd start playing, and uploading some GT Videos again since I've now moved house and things are starting to settle down!

Anyhow Every Monday I'm going to produce an episode for a video series that I have called The Road to GT Academy 2013. But if there isn't another GT Academy, I'm going to attempt to start rallying or get into motorsports by any means. Anyway I have begun with just an introduction and some info about what happened to me at the 2012 national finals.

Enjoy,

Just a small video of when I and a few other people got invited to the British GT Round at Silverstone, to support them, celebrate Janns birthday and to compete in a competition.

This footage is just of the racing that happened, but still enjoyable =)!

Hey All,

First episode the the road to GT Academy 2013 is up (The first one had a time bug on youtube so ended the time but continued to play so reuploaded this morning).

First episode is Braking / Accelerating!
