4 thousandths? Loads of room

Did you like the tune? Would you like it tighter or looser on direction changes? More or less rear traction on the exits?

I built this one on the DS3 in an hour this morning and only ran 20 or so laps in it with the wheel after. Felt pretty nice but I think there's a bit more in it yet.

I think you got the balance nearly perfect m8,
it's loose enough to make the turns fast,
but still tight enough for the downhill section.

I would experiment making it looser but that could be horrible going downhill.

Cool.. if you want to try it a bit looser all you need to do is move the ballast back 5 points... or 10 for even more loose. Leave everything else as is.

I don't nomrally bother with 4WD or Rally... but I think because the car is MR, it always had a better chance... and I think I know pretty much exactly what to change on this one to change the feel.

Might turn my FF down a bit next time though... really shakes my wheel on 10.

Speaking of taking people off your friends list.

Here we are, after all the humbug, and we are still 'friends', yet at the end of the last TT when I went to check where I was placed on my friends list I found I had moved up a place without bettering my time.

Apparently Adrenaline had 'unfriended' me, which means his loaners were unavailable to me.

I checked back but there had been no animosity between us since we became 'friends'.

Not crying about it, just found it strange. Perhaps I was getting too close to his time, ha ha.

Sorry, I cycle friends rather frequently, and I assumed you were finished with the Takata by then. Due to the website, I have people constantly sending friends requests and I try to accept them all, regardless of how short the period may or may not be.

In the off chance I actually participate in a TT, I usually spend 10-60 minutes total, within the first day or two of being released and I don't ever return to keep track of my rankings, friendslist or otherwise.

I publicly post my lap times on this forum, so it's not like I can hide who's beaten my laps times simply by deleting them off my friendslist.

Adrenaline is in the WRS Registry as a Division 2 driver so I doubt very much he is worried about any competition from you. Trust me, he can hold his own quite well. Not alot of people are aware of Adrenaline's skillset as he very rarely takes part in these time trial events so I wouldn't go underestimating him otherwise you may find yourself in the same situation as you are with me and will only end up embarrassing yourself. :sly:

The WRS is great, just not my cup of tea. It's the same reason I don't 'tune' many cars. I simply grow bored of running laps alone. I've taken part in the WRS only twice, after a pathetic 'qualifier' at Nurb because at the time I didn't know the track. In week 2 I finished 23rd, and in week 11 17th, both of which were D1 Bronze times. There's far more people in the WRS now, so those rankings are easily inflated, but I haven't participate since then.

I have no false beliefs as to where I stand in the community, I'm beaten online often enough, and I've seen how far off of the alien lap times I am, to know that I am no where near as talented as some of the amazing drivers in this game. I can't always run a single golden lap, but I can string together 10 laps of pretty-damn-good on a regular basis. I race in online Lobbies 99% of the time, so I'm easy to find, race, and beat if people feel the need to do so.

Just made another withdrawl from my talent bank. Currently sitting at 1:19.401. Thats going to be it for me for today. Still waiting on that ass whipping Dalone promised me.

Has fantastic stability and cornering, requires some throttle control but it's a corvette so that's normal... It put me top 200 and runs low 1:20s all day, the power and weight are misleading, you can't put down 650hp on sports hards so might as well have the aero instead!

This is a great tune! I'm not able to get in the 1:20s, but I can do 1:21.4xx, and for me that's pretty good. I might be able to get into the 1:20s if I put in some more time.

Thanks for a fun ride!

Got a 1.22.053 in your vet desperado its a nice car thanks mate
Glad to hear it didn't kill you and that you liked it.👍👍
Nice job taking nearly 2 seconds off my time in it as well!

If your in need of credits try the Bluebird I have shared in the Compact car seasonal. Will win all but the Eifel custom track race without excess drama, that last one you'll have to work a bit for.

Thanks mate and wow that car is some work when the back end kicks out, I love it :-)

The rear end kicking out and the way it shreds the tires is why I think it might actually be quicker without the Supercharger. Less power and torque should make it easier to keep the rear in check and put the power to the ground more effectively. Of course regardless it's never going to hang with the newer models as it just doesn't have as much grip with the skinnier old tires.

Just a little tip for those of you having trouble with the Vette and its ass end kicking out. When setting up the trans, try a FG setting between 2.300 and 2.500. I usually go all the way left with my FG setting but with the power of this car and the tires used, going all the way left is just going to cause to much wheel spin in the lower half of the gear box. I've found that the above settings offer a good balance between helping to eliminate wheel spin while still having good acceleration.

Lol, no, that would hardly be the case. You know, you really amuse me with some of your comments. Like I said, He is a D2 driver and I seriously doubt you offer him any competition at all.

You know, I'm not sure why, but you seem to think that everyone is scared to compete against you. Not sure why because I sure haven't seen any amazing TT finishes from you. I think you are just full of yourself.

Ha ha, that's enough self flagellation for today Cargo.

And I note your new times, impressive, doubt I can match them, but I'll give it a go all the same.

Well thank you, appreciate the compliment. But whats the matter, a week ago you were such a big shot, calling me out and telling everyone on this forum how you were going to give me a real ass whipping if I ever showed up in these time trials. Well, here I am, too late for you to back pedal now. You're the one that started this, not me. I was just going along minding my own buisiness and along comes Dalone going to give me an ass whipping. Come on big boy, I'm just getting started. :sly:

In all seriousness, when someone calls me out like that, that I know is no better than me, I take that personal. I myself could not imagine doing that to someone else because that is only opening yourself up to alot of embarrassment. I don't claim to be the best or even consider myself to be even close to being as good as the top guys, but I'll be damned if I was going to let you call me out like you did.

Now, I hope this puts an end to this for you and we can peacfully move on. Even if you do improve your time here, like I said, I still have some talent left in the bank and will make another withdraw if I need to.:sly:

My goodness, you really have taken everything to heart Cargo.

Cargo; ""But whats the matter, a week ago you were such a big shot, calling me out and telling everyone on this forum how you were going to give me a real ass whipping if I ever showed up in these time trials"""

Well that's not exactly what I said, or implied.

But surely you understand that all the 'ass whipping' comments' were tongue in cheek.

""""""Tongue in cheek ...
When a statement is "tongue in cheek" it is ironic, slyly humorous; it is not meant to be taken seriously, however its sarcasm is subtle........""""""""

I'm sure most here understood that and I was under the impression you would too. Anyway, I'm really only interested in the game, the racing, and getting better results.

And of course trying to catch you. See you at the races mate.

Great set up on the RS200 Chris 👍 jumped in your shared car for some laps and it handles so much better than the diy set up i put on my own car the other day

Thanks for the share mate! will run some more asap ;)

Stotty I'm interested to see this RS200 tune if you're able to post it up. I'm only succeeding with the Lancia S4 at the moment. Happy to post my tune up once i've had an opportunity to fine tune it more.

I'm dying to set a lap in the Z06 right now but my PS3 is occupied right now :grumpy:

Firmly in the 1:19 club now.
Proving to be darn tricky this one.

If anyone is interested...

Engine: 594bhp (Stage 3 engine)
Power: 88.8%
Weight: 1401kg (Stage 3 reduction)
Ballast: 180kg @30

Spring: 11.3 / 11.2
Ext: 6 / 6
Comp: 5 / 5
ARB: 4 / 5
Camb: 3.0 / 2.4
Toe: 0.01 / 0.00

LSD: 15/39/12
Brakes: 5 / 5

Transmission: Reset to defualt, Set final to 3.280, Set Max Speed to 180, then set individual gears, then final ratio.
1st: 3.033 (should be all the way to left)
2nd: 2.290
3rd: 1.755
4th: 1.409
5th: 1.148
6th: 0.984 (should be all the way to right)
Final: 3.376 (173mph at the top)

I am pretty consistant in the 1:19's. Carefull throttle control needed, just cant quite get the rear in step.
Actually managed to get 154mph at the end of the straight at last.
i do wonder is there a reason for getting engine stage 3 when there are better hp/pp options out there.
I also do wonder why in some non track specific vette guides it mentiones specifically gettign things that don't influence pp in any way like flywheel, but omit driveshaft for example. Is there a specific reason to not getting what i see essentially as free upgrades?

Someone with a G25/27...

Is the pedal spring the same strength in the brake and clutch?

In my haste, I forgot to check and I've now got my pedal set completely stripped... if they are the same strength I can just change the units over, if not I need to swap the return springs 1st!

Thx for a quick reply ;)

Like others have said before. It is slightly weaker.

He may have already had the engine tuning on the car and didn't want to bother breaking in a new one.
Also it depends on what your trying to do with the engine. Engine tuning can help produce a flatter power curve at times and it also may produce less torque than other upgrades depending on the car in question. If the way he has tuned the car results in a flatter power curve and/or less torque then it will most likely be easier to control thus yielding quicker lap times.👍👍

that makes a lot of sense, thanks

Here's my tune, consistently running 1.19s, still some gains to be made if you can get it through the corners quickly.

Easily pulls away from Amo's ghost at the start, but loses it through the corners. Also gains some ground on him going up the hill.

If you improve your time by modifying this tune, let me know so I can try it as well!

My best time with this - 1.19.488

edit - 1.19.332

Corvette Z06 (C5) '00 (standard) (36,000 miles on the clock)

Engine: 734bhp (Stage 3 engine)

Ballast: 121kg @50
Aero: 0 / 20

Comp: 8 / 4
ARB: 6 / 4
Camb: 2.0 / 2.0
Toe: -0.08 / 0.12

Brakes: 5 / 7

Transmission: Reset to default, Set final to 3.333, Set Max Speed to 162mph, then set individual gears, then final ratio.
1st: 3.148 (should be all the way to left)
2nd: 2.372
3rd: 1.855
4th: 1.499
5th: 1.246
6th: 1.069
Final: 2.671

Fully modified, add all parts including rigidity improvement.

Tune does not work well on the (C5) '04 premium version (which has higher power, but is less stable through corners)

ps. 100th post :)

I have tried Killers and Cmjg's loaner ZR1 (C6) 09's and cannot better my own ZO6 (C6) 06's time.

My ZO6 ghost kills them both on the straights and even when I level up before the last r/h turn the speed of the ZO6 races to the lead.

I would add that I couldn't even get close to my ZO6 ghost until I took off 'all' the ballast from the ZR1, same like I run my ZO6.

I'm wondering if you guys have considered tuning a ZO6 for this one, I see nearly all in the top ten are now using them, the first 6 anyway.

The way they changed reminded me of the swift change during the last TT when old cars suddenly became quicker.

Anyway, I'm going to put my ZO6 on loan in case anyone who doesn't have one wants to try one for comparison.

Meantime I'll try Jimi's tune above on my ZO6 C5 00, which incidentally is a shocking pink colour.

And congrats on your 100th post Jimi.

Boys, boys, enough with the 50 shades. I have some terrible images burnt into my retinas now what with CargoRat standing with his trousers down, bent over, waiting for an ass whipping...and now I got Dalone's tongue in somebody's cheek.. please guys, for the sake of the children...

Ass whipping/ cheek. Wow, that's a whole new ball game Sir Alan and one I intend to stay well clear of thank you.

So, for those poor children's sake I hope we can put it to rest now, permanently.

Can't wait to give it a real good go toady, so glad I'm not in work. My boss been trying to ring me like I'm really gonna pick up so he can try get me in work when it's granturismo day :-)
