photonrider Pretty much. My previous best was a 1:44.0, which I got the lap before. And before that, it was a 1:44.2, which was the lap before that.
Well, this is the idea, Andrew. You chase your own ghost, and that makes you faster. You do a slow first lap, then overtake that ghost, then the new one again, then the latest one, and keep going . . . till you reach that point where the variables are not based on your skill, and the car, itself, but on other factors as whether it was a good day or bad day, or maybe you were just feeling pumped at that moment. There is a window there, finally - sometimes a large window of may 3 - 5 seconds if the external variables affect a person a lot, or maybe a small window of 100ths of a second if the driver is unaffected by those variables when they sit down to the wheel.
Some days one is tired - that's the day you take a DTM for a leisurely thrash around the Ring, or an LM to Spa, and just enjoy driving (while making money
)
Other days, one is pumped, and it will be lap after lap at a #TT, totally zoned in, sweating buckets, enjoying taking those corners like you owned the track, the car one with you, leaping around, zooming forward, stopping precisely where you want it to . . . and you've shaved another 10th off a second.
And that's big . . . that's like making Time stand still long enough, even just for a moment, so that you can actually dance around milliseconds.
Chasing one's ghost, or even another's, is the fastest way, and a very good one, towards a better time.

Super excited to get home and try some of the TAKATA DOME settings people are suggesting here. I've struggled to make any good times with it, but I can see people are running quite different setups. So far best I can pull is around 1:48 with the Xanavi Skyline.
Been about a year since I did any driving but just got my table set back up. Looking forward to competing with everyone.
That's a pretty decent time - IMO, anyone who golds the event is a worthy player. BTW - did you only recently start playing GT5 - or did you only recently come Online?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but there seems to be a large performance gap between the '03 and '06 where the '03 is much better at an equal PP, is it just the car's physics? I can't seem to get the '06 right. I have an HSV and will be trying that when I get back to the console. Thanks in advance for any help, my PSN is the same as my name here.
, top speed at around 279/280 kmh, surprisingly most of the top speed on some corners before braking are a bit less on my raybrig nsx lap, but I didn't cut any white concrete and a lot messy overall ... only 1:46
