Hi mate!Wow what a stunning lap, and P4, amazing. Congratulations!
I wonder one thing, do you in this position see where you can find that extra time to be even faster? And how and what do you do to find those miliseconds? And what would you do to find extra time if they have not saved the ghost so you are on your own?
Congrats again, great lap!
Of course, there is always a way to go faster! On the whole this lap is pretty clean but there are a few places that I wasn’t happy with; a car and tyre combo like this is a bit difficult to understand because of the complicated power delivery and the strange characteristics of the tyre model; trying to figure out whether taking the grass costs you time or not, exactly where to shift rpm wise, whether to use power understeer rather than letting the car roll, using partial throttle during corners to aid rotation.. there’s a lot going on here. Even using kerbs to get the car to rotate more and kill that power understeer.
As for my lap; this car seems to need 2nd gear exits for a lot of the slower corners which is tricky to pull off without a big slide, this is the first lap that I got a good exit out of the first chicane, but the second I get a bit of oversteer which cost me some time. Same in the third sector where it’s not obvious when you can get on the power on the right hander before the double left under the bridge including how much grass to take; most of the third sector is a bit of a mess of trying to figure out when to get on the power anyway, especially the lead up to the final long right hander.. do you go full throttle with understeer or is it quicker to use partial throttle on corner exit? Then in that long right hander is it better to keep it tight to the kerb or do as I did and go a bit wider and try to get the nose tucked in to get on the power earlier for the relatively long run to the finish line.
So yeah even if you can identify where you are losing that bit of time, actually putting it to action is another thing entirely and sometimes it’s just a question of keep practicing until you get the muscle memory when it comes to braking force, throttle application etc etc
