Hi, buying advice...
I currently have a g29+mod truebrake and am thinking of upgrading to the fanatec dd. However, I read that the classic bundle offers the two-pedal pedalboard with hall sensors. Speaking specifically only of the brake, is it true that it is a downgrade from truebrake?

Day 2 at La Sarthe (almost 500kms done)

All the "easy" improvements have been made.
I feel more safe now with this margin.

The lap was with some errors, biggest one was saving a huge spin on the exit of final chicane, that lost me easily a tenth or even two. So there's something to gain for sure.

The optimals are in the mid 09s, but let's not kid ourselves.
Now the grind begins hoping for a one goodish lap... or two. Let's see.

I felt wrong cheating on my lovely BMW M6 at Tokyo and felt grubby playing with the Supra so this evening after trying both the Nissan GTR and Mazda (I fell down a rabbit hole there- they are pretty decent though, got into the 1:56's with both) I returned to the Bavarian beast and having studied the replay of a rather talented Japanse chap in the top 50, went to work to beat my Supra time and restore the worlds natural order.

Hey presto.... 3 tenths off.

Here's the lap, I lost quite a bit of time in the final section, so I might just have to go back, if there's time.

Ok I lied 🤥 @911RSR is responsible for that for 0,001

Don’t make me do this again! 🤣 View attachment 1456727View attachment 1456728
Holy moly! I was expecting you to strike back, but it only would needed 2 thousandths or maybe 3 hundrets to beat me. Was it really necessary to be 3 tenths faster??? 😭 That doesn't leave me much hope. 😥
Now i need a real miracle to strike back! But i'll try, might take some time, but i don't give up so easy.

Very well done mate!

Probably, or similar. I would recommend getting the load cell pedals should you upgrade to the DD wheel base.

Morning folks,

Man this thread is going as fast as some of you lap 😂
Congrats to all of you pushing Le Mans and Tokyo, some seriously fast times on the board!

I wasn't planning to return to any of them but noticed my .134 at Alsace already went out of the top 100....(104) what in the h** is going on there.... why is everybody so fast? 🤣

So in order to secure a first page I needed to lap again, took out the garage Fairlady and yeeted the crap out of it with succes 🤣
Last corner could have been better but happy with the lap.. 52.089 but still ...0.79% and only 71 🙈🙈🤣, but should hold 😁

Thanks!

It´s very frustating, my main handicap is that I get nervous on the last 2 chicanes when I know I am on hot lap, and probably loose 3 tenths or invalidate the lap.

Also the 1st sector I cannot nail it. After that I am pretty fast.

As I told you on PSN, once you have a hot lap use your ghost 0.2 secs ahead to get faster instead the "alien" ghost.

That's exactly how i feel and do as well!
If i invalidate the lap, it's usually in sector one (+ Tertre Rouge) or at the very end of the lap.

Usually i restart the lap when i invalidate it in the 1st sector. But because of that, i have less practice with the final sectors. Maybe i just turn all the time displays off and just go round and round the full track.

A tiny smidge off my time at Alsace, hopefully cementing my top 600 place, and that'll be it for me, I need to accept I cannot nail the sharp right hander at the top of the hill well enough to get a good run down the other side 😩

Have enjoyed it though

Managed to slash the slashy timey thingy on Tokyo yet again!!!! I was ohhh soooo close to 1:56 but alas it was not meant to be, did over 30 laps and many were invalidated which is frustrating. But oh well you win some you lose some.

PS5 - Controller User - LEXUS RCF GT3 car - Replay avaiable if anyone want to see it.

Day 3 at La Sarthe.

Right then, big error on the exit out of the last chicane is now corrected (while listening to stream of FP2).

Appears it costed me 3 tenths.

So what's next?

Endless torture at Tertre Rouge, Arnage and Porsche?
Y'know, I'm feeling a bit masochistic as of late :dopey:

After countless laps and aborted laps I managed to sneak in under 3:13:

Optimal is now 3:11.777, zero chance of reaching that or gold LOL

When I did this 3:12 lap, I was on track for a 3:12.5 but messed up around Indy and Arnage. At the end I decided to load in @Tidgney's ghost. It made my first sector faster than before and without an actual reference I felt that I was at least as fast as my best lap - until I "decided" to perform a pirouette when exiting Indy :) It was enough for today though, there's still a week to make meager improvements :)

Also, I'm absolutely sure now that you guys play a different game or your GR010 have different attributes, because mine is a POS compared to yours :D

Returning from a bit of a break to hit the 2 trials ending this week. Didn't put too much effort into either of these as they weren't really speaking to me and I ran out of time.

Obviously Tokyo is going to be a track limits killer, so immediately I was hesitant to go for anything more than a safe gold. This turned out to be the case as all but 5 laps over a 150km session were invalidated due to wall taps, both large and small. My main weakness around this track is the T2-5 combo which really requires the perfect inputs to get the most out of it, otherwise you can easily loose 2 or 3 tenths in that section alone. Also the final corner was proving to be quite tricky for me, which is particularly annoying when it influences the following lap as well. Getting the right braking point, turn in and exit at once seemed to be very awkward, I suspect due to the tight but open exit. In the end, my best lap might've had another 2 tenths in it if I really nailed T2-5 and the final corner, but also I lost a tenth in T6 as I missed the apex slightly and subsequently delayed getting on the power so had a mediocre exit as well. Happy with a top 400 as I know how competitive the Gr3 trials can be.

Onto the 370z around Alsace Test Course. Immediately, I'm not a fan of the test course in either direction. The rollercoaster corner is just a very strange addition to the track and I'm not a fan of how much you have to cut the left hander to get a competitive exit here, if you get it slightly wrong, the kerb launches the car off into oblivion. I've also never been particularly good at getting the long right hander correct in any variation of Alsace, so already 2/3rds of the track is a weakness for me, leaving just the hairpin first corner which I also found to have a bit of an ambiguous braking point. So there it is, I don't like anything about this track, and the 370z is a very meh car, so nothing special about this combo that would bring me back.

At least I'll be getting a cool 4 million credits tonight, which is much needed as I am currently very broke trying to buy all the cars in the game.

Onto Le Mans!

Last night I decided not to improve my lap in the 370Z because I didn't want to waste 2 and a half hours of my time trying to beat my brother. The only prize I'd get for that is bragging rights - not a larger payout. No point subjecting myself to such stress if it won't result in any sort of meaningful gain. I'll let my brother have this one.

Took the 4 million :D

Interestingly they haven't replace either TT so its just the Le Man one now.
I guess there will be another Time Trial and only later as usual. But if not I like to hint the interested that next week we will start a new round of the ATAQ group and everyone is welcome to go with us to Brands Hatch... (Informations can be found in my signature)

That's one reason why I need the 4 million credits... 😁
