I hope the Aliens are busy at Spa for the next day or so, the Lago Maggiore time trial has been infuriating, I'd done so many laps so close to Gold without ever quite getting there. Then finally, I decided to try a ghost that was around 0.5 under the Gold target, and within 6 laps Bingo!

Seems like it will take sub 2:40s for gold.

Why is it that you often can’t see the top replay in these TTs?
Yeah, how it decides which player has their replay available is unknown to me. Before I learned from @Evilmuffin where and how to view the replays and not just load the ghosts (for the ones with replays) I recall trying to go to their profiles and gallery and their laps weren't shared there, so it's not something the player is doing for the replay to show up. @Famine do you have any insight?

I often do one or two laps only then reset and go again, or reset midlap when I've made a mistake. End of session if I've improved my PB, I save my best lap replay.

When I do the same, but then exit without completing a lap (i.e. exit after a restart but without then finishing that lap), my best lap replay is not available to save.

I would assume drivers who get a top ten time have their best lap saved automatically by the system.

So my guess is that the scenario leading to my best lap not being available to save is what leads to some top ten times not being shown.

Just a reminder that on Thursday morning the 20th at 5AM eastern time US, Gold time was 2:42.283 lol
WR has dropped over half a second in the last 20 hours......by the same person. That's a steep drop when it's already 6 days in.
Last night I was 1.9% off, now I'm 2.26%. I need to find another 4 tenths to get below the 2% mark. Obviously more if I want to stay there.

Coming back from a week of vacation - pretty good timing with two relatively easy TT on Broad Bean and Maggiore. Claimed gold on BB, my Maggiore time of 51.623 is safe as well, so focused on the newest addition - Spa.

Felt a bit rusty in the beginning, especially in the wet. I was around 2:40.6xx for quite some time, but then something clicked and started gaining a lot of time, particularly in sector 2. The time was slowly coming down to low 2:40s, but around 300 kms paid off in the end - I finally got a great lap for my skills, where every sector was near to my records - 2:39.187! That was somehow my first lap below 2:40.

That lap at the time of setting put me 350th on global and 1st on friends leaderboard 😎.

For a comparison of difficulty level between ongoing TTs - both my Maggiore and Spa times are around 2.2% off the top time, but granted me P3629 and P350 respectively.

I have one more observation - there is striking difference in feedback that both of my pads give me, especially noticeable now on the Spa TT. Triggers are much stronger on one of them and I found myself quicker on the other one. However for some other combos I liked stronger feedback more. Is there some pad specific setting hidden somewhere in GT7 or PS5? If not, could that be a pad revision difference? One came with a console, the other one I got later on.

0.083 from gold 😓

It won't be enough anyway. Need to find 2 more tenths somewhere...
I feel like your avatar matches how you're feeling about the TT.

Meanwhile, I went back to Lago Maggiore for the first time since last Wednesday. Wasn't expecting expecting to pick up anything, but I did go from a 51.337 to a 51.321. Not much of a jump in time but worth almost 100 spots in the overall rankings to 820th.

Drove spa today with NO assist at all. Managed a 2:39.515 with a below average 3rd sector....but I did managed the best first sector time ever (a 43.029). I think I'm getting a hang of it, should be able to get into 2:38s with more practice.

Probably going to go a bit easy today....left knee hurts a bit.

*Edited for typo: 43.029

This is insane first sector! I was happy at 43.7 lol. With TC1. How you do it? Do you change gear 6-5-6 through the corner?

It matches so accurately, also psychically, I had to use a towel to wipe my sweat lol. And now hoping the WR doesnt change, did gold yesterday at 2.40.040

After an amazing Lake Maggiore, I've started to learn "How to stay safe at Spa" :)

My first laps are more a training about the car and the settings (as I know Spa circuit pretty much).
For now, I use intermediate tyres and TC2. I'll probably down to 1 when I'll have a better feeling and better laps.
After few sessions (3 laps in a row, mostly), I'm in 2:44.007 with a first sector in 0:44.5xx generaly.
There are plenty rooms of improvement and my final objective here is to gain 2 secs to get a secure silver. It should be doable with a regular practice.

For gold and as it is for now, I would need to gain near 5 seconds, which is clearly impossible.

Since Saturday I'm sitting in the Spa box waiting for the rain to dry, and for the brand new PS5 to be available for me.
Tomorrow should be the day (plus some deltaT to download the game)

I see lot of improvements from all of you. In my last session I improved a bit, but I'm still in deep bronze area.

I'm expecting at least a 2s improvement just because of the PS5 (better graphics means shiny liveries, shiny liveries means being quicker, this is undisputed rule#1)

Now that the gold medal is secured at Lake Maggiore with a time of 0'51'623, it's time to rework the Spa circuit.
2'41'881 at Spa with the impression of being all the way with the TC at 1. It's going to be hard, even very hard, to approach 2'40 to get gold. I have all day tomorrow to do it. I feel that there will be a lot of off-tracks and head-to-tails 🤣🤣🤣
