I’m in a safe gold with TCS1. 2 was strong enough that I was losing significant turbo spooling just going over bumps and kerbs but 1 seems fine. I lost a lot of time getting wheel spin out of the two 2nd gear corners though, if I go back to it I’ll try kicking it up to 2 just for those.

Deary me, definitely not enjoying this one too much.

Originally set a 46.692 over the weekend which was in gold by 0.5%. Logged in last night to discover that my time had fallen outside of the gold range by 0.01% :scared:

After plenty of invalidated laps, and having to do extra laps in between fast laps thanks to the run up at the final corner, I've arrived at a 46.473, which still does not feel like a safe gold.

Don't really like anything about this trial, the run up at the final corner (P2 is doing a reverse 180??), having to use the handbrake at the tarmac section, the inconsistency of the way the car reacts to tarmac compared to gravel, everything about the line through the final corner. Just gross

Being 2.53% off the gold time and being 305th is really discouraging for my safety within the gold range. Giving me flashbacks to the GR Yaris at Lake Louise and being pushed out of the gold right at the final hour, one of my 2 silver trials :banghead:

Hopefully the new trial tomorrow is a little more enjoyable than this

I really don’t like the new rally cross TT. Yesterday I struggled a lot just to get into Bronze. I even had weird handling when applying handbrake, the car would often stop and lose the ability to drive. I couldn’t understand why it was so awful so I decided that was enough and moved onto other races.

In other races, breaking was a bit off and found I was losing drive again. Long story short, I found out my brake was registering a constant 14-18ish% and I was running with brakes all the time. That was causing the loss of drive and other weirdness.

After working on the brakes for a bit, my driving found a bit of Viagra and perked up. :D

Tried the TT again and it is surprising how much faster you can go without constant dragging brakes.

I’m still not good at this one so I think I’ll settle for silver. BTW, I found that starting, by backing up to the barrier and then doing a 2nd gear hand brake standing start works best for me.

However, considering i think my brake has been getting worse gradually over time, it makes my prior golds in the previous TTs more of an achievement. Guess I’m better than I thought and also makes me wonder if I can improve my Le Mans further? 😀

How many of you use any or all assists? I've been trying with all variables, no bronze in sight yet on Le Mans. I'm using the car supposedly the fastest and the easiest [?] since all the top times are set with the Nissan 92cp.
In general I think people only use ABS weak for this. Not an easy TT for sure.

I finally got the job done at Le Mans in a 3:28.404. The next lap I was up by 6 tenths before I screwed up, so a top 1000 is potentionally possible. But after trying at Le Mans most evenings for the past two weeks it is definitely time to do something else in the game.

Noob question: sometimes when I hit a kerbstone I hear this 'gamey Mario Kart-esque' soundeffect. What is that supposed to mean and can it be turned off?

No assists for me but the most 'safe' options if you are going for Bronze are the Porsche or Sauber, both are much more friendly to drive in my opinion and should be good for bronze/silver

EDIT I do use ABS on weak

ABS weak and TCS 1 on the Nissan, thanks to change TCS from 0 to 1, I'm currently gold by 7 tenths.

On the Yaris, ABS weak TCS 0, but CSA strong, currently gold at + 2.95%, but not secured at all, I still need to improve.

There is likely to be another tie-in with the World Series Final, as there has been for every round. TTs associated with two of the three rounds featured the Red Bull X2019 Competition. So don't be surprised if we see that again, hopefully at a track more suitable to it than Grand Valley was.

If they do go down that route it'll be Nurb 24

Good point. Goodness, that will stretch the field - really difficult, long track in a car where the true aliens' edge is usually amplified.
Very streched field..... because everybody skipps it 🤣
That would be my worst nightmare combo and I would be sooo bad at it, PD would have to pay me to participate 🤣

This Rallycross TT is torching me

cannot take the first right hander full trottle
forever wheelspin out of the tarmac chicane
and most of all
cannot replicate from lap to lap
cannot figure out what I did differently when I somehow extract something positive in a turn

I'm so skill gapped here that my skill accupies the same space of an electron in a H atom :dunce:

I'm not giving up yet, but lapping with no clue like I did in the weekend is frustrating

After getting knocked out of gold this morning with my 46.658, lots of struggle all in sector 2. This morning I was able to get .7 in sector 1, but could rarely dip below 34 for sector 2. This afternoon I was able to get sector 1 in .6xx with a best of .615. Sector 2 was still a struggle. Then the miracle happened with a 33.7 which put me into hopefully gold for good!

Nice job on hauling it back into gold. I'm hoping that our ~2 tenths can maintain a gap enough to hold out another week. S1 at 0.6 is quick! Fastest I could do was a 0.716. Sector 2 is always a gongshow after.

ON another note, this TT does not make me want to buy a Yaris.

Oh ****! Both TTs have dropped further today. My Opt at Le Mans isn't enough for gold now so that's game over there. My 5th Silver. I'm not happy about it.
I got a few tenths back into gold on Catalunya but Shooter keeps finding time from somewhere so I don't think I'll feel safe until it's over.

I didn't even want to drive tonight but decided at the last moment to give the Nissan another push before bed.

I had the best sector splits so far, everything was flowing nicely, spot on braking points, no wheelspin at all, traction out of every corner just right, boost building like a charm, even the Porsche curve entrance was good and the esses were proper, and then the second to last chicane, I just lost it a bit, compromised my entrance to the last chicane, lost the momentum, and eventually lost my 4 tenths... It could have been a nice entrance to the 24 club but hey... I'll take this, considering I only did 3 proper sessions, unfortunately no more free time because of work.

At last I manage a 45.8 after many failed attempts and frustrations. This was my last day to work on this time trial since tomorrow is update day and new time trial day so I thankfully manage a .8 time which is good enough for me to put this time trial to rest. For the people here who are worried about the gold time, I think the record will drop more, maybe into the .1's but nothing below that. So that means the gold is estimated to be around a mid to low 46.5 or maybe a high 46.4 by the end. To be safe, you should aim for a 46.2 to the minimum, that should guarantee your gold time safe. Easier said than done I know but don't worry, you'll get there, just keep pushing!
