Clicking on it doesn't work either. Maybe they took the original page down after realizing their mistake.

Went ahead, bought the car that's gonna be the focus starting tomorrow and drove a few laps on SH tyres (I assume that's gonna be used) with the stock car. Oh boy, I'm gonna be happy if I can scrape together a bronze... had to use full TC (5) to get around the course, at all, managed to get a 1:37.5 (started with 1:40ish)... I assume that may be out of the bronze bucket given how hard you guys drive :)

Great lap, I am sure you are getting that 16 in no time.

Are you regularly in chase cam? Also chasing both ghosts at same time? Or it was just for this video?
Preparation isn’t optimal, lol. Sacrificed too many hours of sleep last night trying to capitalise on the momentum but, alas, it didn’t happen, and a long pretty heavy day at work. Maybe, we’ll see.

Yeah, I’ve always driven in chase camera. Rarely do I use two ghosts but it felt fine here and I figured I might as well chase not only one of the top ones but my own at the same time as well since it was a pretty good time, good indicator and motivator for the 16 goal.

Last one we already had at deepforest if I remember correctly., but we also had a Mustang at seca one time.... ☹️.... very original choise both 😕😕🤣🤣

Well, I practiced with the new car as I don't have the '65 one. With SH for me it's barely drivable, with RH it's much more manageable, and was like 4-5 seconds faster - if this will be the setup, I fear that I can't reach bronze, at all LOL

I have to practice some patience now and wait for tomorrow to see my fate :)

I am repeatedly surprised to learn that there are top players that use chase cam. Isn't it harder to be precise this way? Or do the added surroundings add that much information that it's worth it? Or am I overthinking this?
I'm one of those crazy chase cam users. I feel like I can better judge where my car is on the track. Also, I've used that camera for 30+ years and what I'm comfortable with.
This one had tuning allowed if I recall correctly, didn't it?

:D Hi friendos!!

Back after a rather wonderful work trip and I got one shot today at the 4C in Willow Springs.. what a trial, perfect combination of grip and slip, great handling balance.. yeah. I wish I could keep on doing it!

Slight mistake into the final corner cost me a really really great time but I was really happy to get into the 1:16s

Well, there we go! Into the 16’s with a lap I feel really good about! Dantes of course had to come and rain on my parade but fair enough man, that’s a great time. Respect.

Probably overthinking it. I’d say that when it comes to camera views and various similar settings habits play a big role. For me personally I started with chase camera out of the available views back in GT3 because I really wanted to see my own car, seeing how cool it looked, instead of for example just a “hollow” bumper cam. Since then I’ve simply just stuck with it, could apply the same reasoning I had as a kid but there are other advantages also (and disadvantages).

When racing it’s a really good camera because you can see so much more of your surroundings and it becomes easier to have a good idea where your opponents are, what they’re doing/might do, etc. and generally to race clean. In some cases I might struggle to see the perfect line to hit an apex, which could be easier in bumper or hood but for the most part I go with feeling and intuition which works fine for me. And in overtaking situations where you ideally want to stay as long as possible in the slipstream I momentarily switch to bumper/hood for the overtake and then back to chase once completed.

There’s one specific TT where I was forced to abandon chase cam though, the Toyota Alphard at Autopolis, that thing is too massive... :irked::lol:

Enjoyed this more than I anticipated, but not sure how you guys are getting into the 16s.

Willow Springs as a track has always somewhat evaded me with some of the lines you need to take. Particularly turns 6-8, having to dip 2 wheels onto the dirt just seems to slow me down more than anything. It really unsettles the car and most of the time kicked the tail out. I think my fastest lap ended up being with 4 wheels on the track through that section, which seemed to give me a bit more control and predictability.

Also the final corner was a lottery of either nailing it, or losing 2 tenths to the line.

Happy to be within the top 200, normally there's too much competition in Gr4 and I end up much further down the order.

Improved a a fraction today at Deep Forest. I would have gone on longer, but several turns kept annoying me to no end, so I called it quits. I had a horrendous sector 1 on my fast lap. Otherwise, I would have matched my 48.0 optimal (again) time.

It did, and you were miles in front of me! 🫡😁
That may have been the last time I beat you. :P

Same here. It took up 3/4 of the screen at least!

I had one more crack at Willow last night to see if I could improve and this was the result. I didn't beat my brother but I'm still satisfied because being 1.21% off is a strong effort for me. I was driving at my limit, or at least extremely close to it because I could feel the tyres protesting as I threw it around the track. When that starts happening, your workload increases dramatically and I don't have the talent to push through it. Still, could be worse.

The results for TT138 at Willow Springs International Raceway: Big Willow in the Gr.4 are over here. I have updated the opening post with the index of all TTs and the second post with the community scoreboards. A reminder that each driver's results for every TT is in the Excel file attached to the latest results post.

Here are some interim statistics for TT139 at Deep Forest Raceway Reverse in the DMC DeLorean S2 '04.
