SM Tyres
Oh joy!

Morning folks,

As expected a new session in the C5...and a descent tv worked far better than a crappy remote session 😂
But man i threw away some very descent laps right there at that hideous chicane....
Multplile .5's splits on entry of it.... but i scraped somuch paint on it it's not even funny anymore...
but still had a descent bankerlap,
Optimals say around 49 flat but i couldn't make it this morning 😟😂
but all not to shabby ofcourse, but there is more in it!

First sectors were descent but lost a lot in the last one, exit CoD was terrible and mist the apex of the very last corner....

This combo is just a step too difficult for me personally. Quite happy with P3 globally.

My lap was a bit of a mixed bag, did all the fast corners really well, especially the S's after split 1. But had 2 poor exits out of the 50-55 mph hairpins that cost me dearly. Most likely my final time unless Akagi improves again. Weak ABS chosen. 7-7 in-game force feedback settings.

sheesh...setting the bar pretty low for yourself there bud. I'm disappointed in you. :odd:

As of taking my hopefully temporary screenshot, I was at P2(3,131 :) ) globally with a 1:54.775 on the controller. My optimal was 1:53.570, as such I'm quite confident that I can reach silver on the wheel, once I get the time to sit down and try it properly. As far as I can recall, I quite like the C4 here in the previous TT and I'm much closer to silver with the C5 than I was with the C4, so there's hope. My new goal is to reach silver instead of just getting into bronze. As of now I'm on a 4 TT-streak (including the DeLorean gold and the still-ongoing NSX TTs), reaching regularly silver would be a huge deal for me, let's hope for the best!

Specifically I meant trying to challenge a replay hider that's 4 tenths clear on day 1.

Too difficult🤣
I feel you with that, so I'm just gonna take matters into my own hands.

It's been extremely difficult to hook up a decent lap so far, but I'm confident I can beat Akagi's time by a decent amount. My current best after tonight (48.049) lost nearly 2 tenths in S1 alone so I would've already beaten him if not for that. Maybe a 47.6 is on the cards if I nail everything I guess.

Altho VERY frustrating because I had a real terrible S1 and was surprised by a .105...
Fastest S1 was .571 this morning......on the the lap it was .745 😵‍💫😵‍💫 but had a descent chicane 🤣🤣

There should be 2 tenths left 😁

Bit to close for comfort

I like this one a lot. That's place 61 as of this posting. I hope to remain a top 100 and I definitely can improve this time if I have time to do so.

I hate to admit I really love SM tires. They feel much like cm tires or cs on cars in the proper class. The feel of them is good and the signal to the wheel feels really rich with info. I dunno. Maybe it's just a lucky combo for me. 😂😁

Oh I'm sorry @ElectricNaz . You are up! 🍻🍻

Challenge accepted Turbo Binder, if that is your real name

But for Monday as I'm drinking now watching the FA cup final in the sun, and then eurovision, so I won't be legally able to drive on this game until probably Monday 😂😎🍻 don't drink and drive people!

I neeeeed to hit my potential best with is a 1.49.0 but I've already changed oil (and washed) in this Chevvy THREE TIMES and soon to be 4, so taking a two day break haha

I swear I did a nearly-gold sighter in my own purple NSX on pad when making the article a couple of Thursdays back - 1:59.4 or some such.

Hopped in a loaner car... 2:01, 2:00, 2:00 on sighters.

Restarted from the pause menu, and 1:59.6 sighter, 1:59.4 sighter, 1:59.0 sighter, 1:59.0, 1:58.4 - and with a 1:58.1 optimal that I can't be bothered aiming at (lost 0.3s in S2  ).

Weird.

I didn't make it into the 49s last night which is a little disappointing, but I have time to improve so it's not a completely lost cause. I really do like this car and track combination despite the pitfalls. In fact if anything the pitfalls add to the fun because when you figure out how to straddle the line between glory and failure, you do end up surprising yourself. Chances must be taken to get a good time and that's what a good track should force you to do. Jeopardy is exciting.

The Corvette is a nice challenge. Did a first session yesterday that got me a 1:49.725, with lots of room for improvement. Unfortunately play time is still very limited for me these days. Leaving for a work trip today and will only be back on Friday, so not sure if I‘ll have another go. Have a great week everyone.

Edit: snuck in another short session before lunch and improved to 1:49.551, but that's it for now. CU next week. ;)

Morning all - had another stab at the Corvette last night, and despite getting a big rear axle bounce over the curbs in the fast right at the end of sector 1, I managed to find a little time and get into the 49s.

Fast forward to this morning and had another run in the NSX, and had two laps faster than my prior best. First one was only a little faster as I made a right mess of the last two corners. After a couple of scrappy laps and coming into the start of the lap with an armful of opposite lock (costing me over a tenth) I landed a 57.0 with the potential of a 56.8. Pleased with the lap but will try and have another stab at it later.

Managed an improvement from .802 to .664 which I am very happy with. The .5 is still possible but I'm probably not going to go for it because of how difficult it is to keep PB pace on this track while also not messing up on the chicane. But overall very good combo and very nice car for sure, I'm happy to see the C5 Corvette return in this game and I had a blast driving it!

With going back to work, starting PT, and spending more time with my parents, I haven't spent much time on TT's lately. In fact, I had only my second session at Autopolis tonight - the first being over a week ago. I gained a little bit and would probably be in the 26's if I spent more time on it.

I also had a quickie session at Dragon Trail last night. I grabbed a top 100 there in the C4 Vette, and that may have been the last top 100 I'd actually picked up (none yet this year). I'd have to go back through my results and look.

Morning folks,

The frustration at Dragon seems to higher than the fun it brings, last two sessions there is so much potential but it just doesn't work..., time after time i stuff up somewhere...
this session i counted 5 rather nice .4xx splits before the CoD, but all invalidated or thrown away in the last corner....which i totally forgot how to approach...., this is one example....11.456 and should get me well into the 48's but failed everytime 😂

Frustrating that there is time on the table, but .... i doubt i give it another shot, should stick for a top 100 and that's what i'm aiming for .....

@CosmicMinster bravo buddy, you realy killed this one!

Thanks! I really like Dragon Trail Seaside so it was very enjoyable for me. I see you are struggling with the chicane and the last turn. For the chicane it's all about aligning the car correctly, can't be too much to the right or left. It's tricky but with enough practice you'll get the hang of it. And as for the last turn, you'll want to be approaching from the left side of the road, brake at the 150m board, and bring the car in on the inside of the turn and then just stay on the left side of the road as you approach the finish line. Hope I helped!
