Yep, selling a 2-seater (370Z) because of a growing family should mean getting a 2-seater exotic :D you're logic is awesome :)

With the tariffs we decided to move up the purchase of a second car. I wanted to convince my wife that a GR86 is a 2+2 seater, it worked until we took one out for a test drive - no way we can fit two adult-size teenagers in the back, especially when my younger and taller daughter has longer legs than me (I'm 6' tall) :D It was a good try though :) (we ended up getting a second Crosstrek)

After the "disappointment" of missing out just on the top 100 for Dragon Trail, I'm happy to see another one in my sort of range of ability! Won't be anywhere near the top 100 for this one once it's all over, but it's fun!

That last corner is swiftly becoming one of my favourites to (try and) get right!

(@newmedia_dev I don't envy you having to do that in VR.... I would be sick more quickly than if I'd downed an entire bottle of rum!)

🤣🤣
Pffff you are amazing !!!! 👏👏

First test today in 2 news TT :
For the first one with the Fairlady Z I have gold for the moment in 0'52'870. Nice car but it looks like they put oil on the track it's so slippery...
1000007623.jpg

For the second in Tokyo I get gold too but I'm not a good friend of this circuit or Tokyo in general because the crash barriers scare me, and the slightest mistake is unforgiving. I have the gold so far with a time of 1'57'994.

The streak continues, and I'm very happy with it. I hope to be in the top 1,000 in Tokyo and improve on my position in Alsace.

This one suits me for some reason, I think it’s the right sort of power to weight and in VR the SH tires aren’t as bad as they feel in the other views.

I managed to improve a little and I know where I’m losing 95% of my time (T1)

Just an interesting observation is I only improved 2 times today following @Metalgear9493 and @Tidgney ghost both are not VR ghost laps as far as I know. When following your VR ghost Martin I think your lines are a little bit different because you are driving the angles different, you don’t spend a lot of time in VR so completely understandable still bloody fast as hell though 🤣

@Nebuc72 @ElectricNaz and @Gomario JSP really have this one dialled in early!!! Hats off!

Edit: @A_Higher_Place shhhh it is a meta just not the popular most used one ;)

I really do not enjoy these Tokyo tracks. They really test my ability to not overturn the wheel which inevitably puts me into the wall/barriers. I'll take this for a non-meta car!

I'm exactly a second off your time and I'm completely fine with it 🤣🤣, this is all I hate in a track, I'm a curb man.... this feels like one big barry R session..... not my cup of thee!, but ill try a tv session tomorrow morning instead of the Remote
well done as always!

Did visit Alsace too for a short few laps, short and fun lap with some challenging corners for sure, should make some fun sessions this week!

@newmedia_dev thanks buddy, Thursday is always a fun start, but the real progression lies in the 6AM alarm clock 😁🤣, let's see what the leaderboard brings this time!
And a .7 is a very descent start mate! Nice job!

@bliprunner ease up mate.... leave some for the rest of us 🤣
Well done!

You and your jabs getting casually gold on the remote, FFS, way to make talentless drivers like me feel good about themselves :D

I do agree with you on curbs though, I hate city tracks including iconic locations like Monte Carlo or Long Beach.

Naahh it's not always more difficult on remote to be fair, some combo's are terrible but some are doable 😁 but indeed tv is always better for those last tenths 😁🤣

When I started timetrials I wasn't all that great, and it took me quite some miles over the years and a lot of tips from the guys here to get better and faster, and I still run enough miles per trial but luckly it has been not to shabby lately so the Thursday Nokia style meters resulting in gold didn't come out of nowhere , practice makes perfect 😁😄

@A_Higher_Place I dispice those walls.... just no room for playfull driving, no poweroversteer corners because you will butt scrape to invalidation... so friends......no 🤣🤣

At Alsace I couldn't get lower then a .488 for now.... time will tell on the TV 🤣

Epic start bud,

I think with enough practice i will gold Tokyo, it is more fun that I thought it would be but still a tough gold.

The Z though, jebus i struggle with road cars and I am finding this TT very frustrating. I am half second off of gold and TBH it feel like I have hit a wall. I follow Tidge's ghost, ok he gaps me a touch in T1 but the entry to T2 he just vanishes, i try to copy his inputs but I just cannot keep the car stable and be quick at the same tie. I can keep it stable but I am slow, as soon as I hustle the car it slides on me. I really do not gel with road cars in general, I managed gold in the NSX recently but otherwise tend to fall in around the 4pc mark and silvered the recent GT350 and Vette trials. I don't understand how you guys are turning in at such high speed and not losing the back end.

Which controller type are using for this one.

Naz and Nebu are definitely using controller for this one I can tell by how quickly they go so fast.

For Alsace it’s all in the easing the car/balancing it with the majority of the time in the T1 line and exit and the restraint to coast the rollercoaster, the banked corner isn’t “that important” on a quick lap but you still need to be smooth.

For Tokyo the only think I can say is it’s been used a long in the last few months and is track that requires good commitment and throttle management, the choke points for most people aren’t the hairpins but the exit of the first tri corner where a good cutback exit sets you up to the grippy tarmac corner, you can abuse that a lot.

The next part is the last sector where you have to flow right, left right. This is the exact same sequence as Suzuka. You don’t need to break and just flow coast, accelerate, repeat.

You can do both of these mate, I’m just a B driver and have them gold 👍

Decided to go with the Gr.3 Tokyo Expressway time trial first and managed a 1:55.413 in my first session. Not too bad, I think there is still a little bit more I can shave off but overall decent time. As for the Nissan Z34 at Alsace, I have not set a time for that one today but I will be doing that one tomorrow. I'm guessing the Tokyo one will have a more competitive leaderboard than the Alsace one, especially with it being Gr.3 cars so I'm likely going to focus more on this one. But anyway I look forward to Alsace!

The Z and that track are interesting. Not really a fan of that weird layout even in other races. Good enough for me.

As much as I'm not a fan of any Tokyo layouts because of the walls, this one was pretty fun. Gr.3 on RS is just about a perfect fit. My only issue is I'm not really a TT guy as I have no time for it like most of you do so having a race with a plethora of car options is tough for me to figure out. Nevertheless I decided to use Roxy for this one.

Seeing the times and positions you guys post here makes me always feel very old! 👴 To come up with a reasonably good position, i had a pretty early go yesterday morning and here we go:
Tokyo Gran Turismo™ 7_20250529113333.jpg

Not a top 100, but i can't remember ever to be so far at the top 🤟
Without those stupid wall penalties, this would be a very nice TT! At the moment i'm not sure if i come back to this. But i've reved the Supra always to the limit and watching Tidgney's vid showed, this is not the best way to drive that thing 😜

Alsace though, turned out it was a bad idea to try this - it's just not my cup of tea! But now that i've started it, i have to make sure it will stay in gold!
Alsace Gran Turismo™ 7_20250529122223.jpg

Strangely enough, the TT that attracts me the most is still Catalunya. Although i don't like the track (too many hairpins!) and the understeer of the Alpine is so ****. But i can't stop until i've done a 1:28!

Rarely do I enjoy road cars in time trials but a Fairlady in combination with a short track sounded good. For some reason I gave it a try with a pad and am barely in silver range. One more stint with the wheel to secure silver and off to Tokyo!

The track is longer and not appealing to me. There will be probably a strong competition and I would be happy to reach silver there. But I am sure that it gives me more pleasure and the pleasure/time ratio is my guide in GT7... So have fun and keep it slow because I need the silver credits for different crazy Projects! 😉

Here's the 2nd time trial, apologies for the delay it's been a very busy day with work, baby vaccinations and everything else! Here it is though!

don't worry, this is just the beginning, it will get worse and worse until he gets a job and you kick him out of the house.

but be careful, that you don't get the idea of adding a new section to your videos: gold at the wheel stimulates me, gold at the controller makes me realize that theory is important, gold in VR is fun, gold while with the other hand you change diapers might be too much for my self-esteem

Morning folks,

Thr Fairlady wasn't realy fair to me 🤣
I had splits to be hauling with them big boys.... but that last corner keeps stuffing things up for me.
Had a handfull of .6xx on S1 but that seems cursed with stuffing up the elevation shenanigan, which I like very much!

Progression but not as much as I was expecting 🤣

Thanks for these tutorials, but more for the first one (370Z), I golded this one by myself, but the 370z was tough to find how to be fast and accurate.
4 mill to the bag.

Let's be honest, officially you're a B driver but your pace is A+. YOu are within 2% on the first day and I am guessing a few laps of each TT without fail. With RWD road cars I know what the issue is, I am not able to control the weight shifting as well as the better drivers. I managed gold in the DeLorean (low power), the NSX (AWD) and the Z4 (light/tossable) but add weight and power (GT350/C5/350Z) and I struggle. Also explains why I relentlessly gold race cars, the low centre of gravity and downforce hides my inability to be subtle and manage weight transfer.

Which brings us to Tokyo, this is quite the ride and far more fun that expected, especially the final sequence which is really butthole clenching stuff. I am a tenth of gold right now but was on a lap that ended a full second under the gold time but JUUUUUUUUUUUUST shaved the wall on the 2nd last corner so lost the lap. This will be gold, just gotta get it all together.

yeah I struggle most with the weight transfer too. Cars like the vette at DT that have looser handling and get wobbly/bouncy are a chore...particularly on tracks the require some curb climbing. I usually am eventually able to get a handle on it. I'll get into a zone where my steering inputs become really quick and almost unconscious - almost like I'm steering in anticipation of what the car is going to do in the next half second. But the DT one never got there for me...or at least not enough to gold it.

That was terrible, I barely managed silver, just an awful car to drive. The GT350 was a better car but I could never gel with Laguna Seca and feel it is for Miata type cars for 500hp monsters.

Very happy to snag the high .7, which was what I was chasing for over 250 miles last night.

Sector 1 went purple by over 15 thousandths, with good speed up the hill too. Sector 2 could have been better as I slightly missed the turn in for the flat left, which also penalised me with some speed loss. But finished it off with a well timed final sector!

Unfortunately for the young EMEA hotshots like Damian Chafe and Naif, they stand no chance of beating this time with their Tyrannosaurus Rex sized forearms, sorry about that!
