First throw at a top 100... such few corners....so much inconsistency...

Alright fellas!!

Well, I wasn’t going to even attempt the World Series TT but given the meta is one of my favourite Gr3 cars I thought I’d just drop in and see if it was fun. I don’t really like Tokyo, I don’t really like walls… but on Racing Soft tyres I hit the wall more on turn in than I do on exit so at least it’s not complete understeer city!

I’ll upload a replay in VR for a POV following the (at the time) WR ghost. It’s actually a lot of fun, I love the Supra!

And in VR FPV (whoops I missed a wall kiss, at the start there, just skip through that if anyone wants to watch an actual lap lol)

EDIT: quick go at Alsace, so close to a 51.xxx! I probably won’t have time to improve before the trial ends as I go on holiday tomorrow so that might be it 😊

Naif is RELENTLESSY fast
You should have been here when Jeddah/Ebrahim randomly rocked up 🤣

In all honesty though most of the Dstinct and VQS and a few others teams (AHR, P1R, TCR, etc) have these absolute monsters for TT or race pace

Bloody hell Dan 😲

officially you're a B driver
I can only use the labels they give me, my alts are both A

But that is not the point, I was more trying to galvanise you (lurkers) to try, if I can do it everyone can. When I first joined I knew everything. Then realised I knew nothing. Re learn, experiment, win, fail, quit it does matter as long as you try and learn at the same time.

YOu are within 2% on the first day and I am guessing a few laps of each TT without fail
Yeah, I can’t dodge this one and it’s true. But I can explain it a little. I set my QT/TT times through the day and I do my racing of an evening…and I drink more that you should and more than you should. The definition of functional when drunk (not functional drunk!!)
With RWD road cars I know what the issue is, I am not able to control the weight shifting as well as the better drivers
Honestly is just letting the wheel do its thing, thinking the car is gonna shift or reading the camera queues

The one thing I will say with weight transfer is speed is your friend on the initial correction, if you don’t snap the counter steer fast enough you are a passenger.
Which brings us to Tokyo, this is quite the ride and far more fun that expected, especially the final sequence which is really butthole clenching stuff. I am a tenth of gold right now but was on a lap that ended a full second under the gold time but JUUUUUUUUUUUUST shaved the wall on the 2nd last corner so lost the lap. This will be gold, just gotta get it all together.
Don’t drive so hard, if you are 1 sec in gold already it’s just a clean lap you need.

You got this, and honestly I think you are a faster driver than you think you are just a couple of awareness tweaks and letting the car coast a bit more and you’ll always be in the gold. You got these mate

Bruh. Leave some time for the rest of us! Sheesh.

Managed to do a wheel session with the 370Z and the RSR. As expected - although at some point I was ready to give up -, with the wheel I reached silver (for now) on Alsace. Not sure how long it lives but hope dies last. Optimum is 53.99 but I'm happy with this:

Just for fun I also tried to RSR with the wheel, managed to shave off almost 5 seconds from my controller time:

Current silver is ~2.32 seconds away, not sure I have that in me. I will certainly try some more and maybe try other cars, plus I haven't even watched @Tidgney's guide (but thanks for the 370Z tips!), so there may be some improvement possibility!

One thing I have to revisit though is the Alpine VGT at Catalunya, silver is still ~1 second away...

A few things here. The RSR is not going to cut it, you need to be in the Supra or the M6 Sprint, maybe the Lexus if you're struggling for pace.

Without being harsh, at 2.02 you're leaving a lot of easy time on the table, watch Tidge's guide and you should be under 2 mins pretty fast. After that it gets tougher but a sub 2 should come quite easily. No more than TC1 or you get hammered on the exits and carry that all the way down the long full throttle sections.

I thought this would've taken me a lot more time to work out. The track is quirky and not one I have much experience on, so getting into the gold was a bit of a shock but then again, the track is small so it's not like you have a lot to remember. I'll be having another go on Sunday night.

Played both TTs yesterday. I must say even though the Tokyo TT is much harder (on paper) than the Alsace TT, it's much more fun still. Because of the RS tyres that give so much grip & the smooth flowing turns of Tokyo, happily drove 34 laps till I could better my best time of 1:59:056. Improved to 1:57:712 which as of now seems safe for Gold.

On the other hand, I found the Alsace TT much more of a challenge. I'll any day prefer a road car over a GR car just for the sheer fun of driving it but the Sports tyres really draw my confidence out of my body. This layout has so few corners which aren't even tricky as the Tokyo one but due to lack of grip, I couldn't do better as of now than just set a Silver time of 53.394. Just 9 laps were enough to give up for that session.

I did the same and back with a wheel I am 0,1 away from gold, for the moment... Don't see myself returning with the Fairlady, so it will be a very safe silver.

Tokyo still awaits me and I might go with some other cars before changing to Supra or M6 (why isn't there a 4-door raad car version in this game?!).

The Alpine is good but unfortunately I am not. Here will be another Session to improve within the silver range. Overall a nice set of TT!

"a silver ager"

Such is the life of a family man. I owned a 1969 Giulia Coupe when single, had to sell it when family arrived. 15 years later with kids aged 11 and 7 went with a 911 as it has 2+2 for the little blokes.
I am heading in the opposite direction. I spent the last 30 years driving a range of reliable family cars culminating in a beloved Subaru Liberty (Legacy). I just upgraded to a new Giulia. The joy it gives me suggests it’s my gateway to increasingly impractical performance monsters.

The double apex corner (2 right handers) at the dock section is a place where any user can gain or lose time. I find it so hard to nail those sequence of corners.

I really enjoy the S section before the final left hander onto the main straight. With the RS tyres, it's a thrill to weave through those esses.

I've noticed many a times though, the Supra car is the preferred choice of car for such TTs where GR cars as a whole can be chosen. Any reason why apart from being nimble & obedient!

Few laps this morning before fishing 😁
(Pike season has started again after two months of closing)

Managed a .295 at Alsace but that's already on a very thin top 100 thread..🤔...what in godsname is necessary there top secure first page 🫨🤯😵‍💫😵‍💫🤣🤣

Also ran Tokyo....still no fan of walls.....🤣

Morning all - morning session at both of the new events today. Alsace is is all nuance and timing, Tokyo is all about bravery and getting on the throttle early. Hopefully I get the time to run both a lot more - they're very different but, for me at least, quite enjoyable. First 30 miles at Alsace....

...and another 70 at Tokyo - tried the 911, but hopeless amounts of understeer just suck time out of the lap. Haven't tried the Supra yet, but the BMW was instantly much faster! Was going to try the Jag as well, but it's not even available 🤷‍♂️. Target of getting into the 55's

@Dan_Tes - you're on fire mate!

Last time out, I barely managed to gold the NSX at Autopolis, and silver the C5 at Dragon Trail Seaside (like the car, like the track, didn't like the combo).

Having a pretty rough go at it with the newer batch of TTs, but managed a trio of silvers.

Catalunya: Alpine VGT - 1:31.528 I'm just... slow

Alsace: Z34 - 0:53.775 Curse you, awkward tight downhill left! /shakefist

Tokyo Expressway: NSX Gr.3 - 1:59.370 Curse you, walls! /shakefist

We are always very close in times and the type of ones we are good at and struggle with. In the end I managed to gold the Alpine and Tokyo so I reakon you could get there as you tend to match me to a tenth. 370Z is another story......

Well thank you for support on my last post, but I went back to the TT after I had to buy a Porsche 911 RSR to try and tackle this TT and managed to fair much better this time, managed after 5laps of intesnse controller bashin, a decent 1:58 at Tokyo Expressway. Still gunning for that Glory Gold time, I believe it is acheiveable before London's event!
