I was overjoyed when I did a 1:14.295 and reached silver, although I concluded already at that time that it's a shaky one. Sure enough, Friday evening the silver threshold was at 1:14.290. So, after watching @Tidgney's video (thank you!) and applying the red Martini livery from @KK78 I decided to give it another go. My previous optimal was 1:13.6, so a solid silver should be possible. I reached peak performance in the first lap, was sliding around like an idiot on ice, yet I did reach a solid silver by dropping 7 tenth and better than my previous optimal (screenshot taken today to account to be current):

As always, gold is near, not sure I can reach it though - but for sure I'm gonna try it, it's super fun to drive the Delta.
If you really want to gold this TT and it’s not one of the crazier ones :)

Do some time trial laps at Tokyo (daily A) the characteristics are similar and the control (fingers/pedals) the same thing you need for the TT the walls just make sure you are more precise

I'm a little late on this but I thought instead of posting my result after each session, I'd only post the result after my final session and in my third/final session, I manage a 1:10.896 which I'm more than happy with. Could have been a possible top 10 time if I had done a slightly better sector 1 but this was still a really good lap and there is no doubt that I can top 10 this if I spend more time on it. Combo overall was very fun but I kind of hated it in the beginning. The Delta is very nice and I'm happy to see it in the game, in fact it's the only good thing that came from the update sadly. Oh well, that's me done for this one.

B.Assie...... refering to Bassie wich (was) a dutch clown who yelled "Allememaggies" ( see the above second name ) a lot during it's tv show.. 😂😂😂

😂😂😂, B.Assie . that's pure gold

Thank you Jéjé for your help......

but I know how to transfer images from the PS4 to a USB stick.....what I didn't know was how to display large images in my posts on this forum.....🤔🤔

and this morning, as it's far too hot to do anything else ....even when you're retired, I searched the net and found.....just click on "insert image"....
and the proof: I'm putting up a photo from 5 years ago of the T300RS and a cockpit of my own making....49 it's for my year of birth....😂😂

since then, I've moved, I've moved to TGT2, an air-conditioned office and I've got a few more white hairs......😂😂

last night, I rode for pleasure, but I'm going back to the Nur this afternoon with the hope of putting up a great image
of an 8' 28.xxx....... 🤔😂

And I thought I was one of the old ones.

Congratulations, I hope to see myself like you in 30 years.
Thanks, that's kind....but we've just got to stay big kids..... 😂 😂

it always surprises me when I tell people I play the PS4.......what??...at your age!!??......🤣🤣🤣

but I don't watch TV apart from MotoGP and F1 and as I already read a lot, I had to find something else....

my brother (2 years younger) trained me in GT6, then having become passionate, GT5, GTsport and GT7.....

and at first, I did the TTs to win 250,000 in 3-4 rounds, then I insisted on the million, then this forum got me even more hooked on winning gold medals....
thanks to you all....:cheers::gtpflag:

Go go go !!!!! You can do it my friend 💪💪💪
what an idiot I am.....I wanted to do a 28.xxx and I did a 27.886!!! 😜😜😂

can it be cancelled so I can do it again??🤔🤔🤣🤣

and with a 27.134 in opti.....but that's enough for me....
and I'd pass Jéjé, that's not done.....😇

and 3000 something is very good......😂

in truth, I can't wait to get back to having fun with the Lancia...:gtpflag:

Had been a little busy. So yesterday & today I went back to the Nurburgring TT which I wholeheartedly love & wish to still get better at. Yesterday I lowered my PB to 8:24:170 which was about seven tenths faster than the PB I achieved last week.

Today noon I again was watching @Tidgney 's lap guide as there are a few tricky corners which are hard to nail lap after lap. I played the TT again this evening & was able to go six tenths faster with a time of 8:23:553 to put me at 531st ranking. Even though I've always made a few tenths progress a day I don't mind seeing my efforts being rewarded.

I'll play the Nurburgring TT tomorrow & on Thursday morning even as this TT is real addictive.

:bowdown::bowdown: respect my friend....

As the deadline looms, I tried my hand and feet again at the Nordschleife. Still silver but already found 2.5 seconds after watching @Tidgney's video:

I'm still pursuing gold, 1.1 seconds... maybe, just maybe...

Regarding the heat wave: yes, we also have it here in PA (plus high humidity) but in my office/basement I'm sitting in sweatpants, T-shirt, long-sleeved shirt and hoodie as it's effing cold - with the aircon set to 80F (26.6C). On the other side, in winter, with the heating set to 72F (22.2C) I'm sitting at the same place in shorts and T-shirt LOL

well..... a good day to TT.....😎

I was so looking forward to it that I went this evening....

I was at 12.8xx, with an opti of 12.6xx......which is just what I need to be safe for gold, as there are still 8 days to go and there's a risk of it going even lower....

well, I finished the day with a 12.352....that's it....😂😂

maybe I'll go back there if I get out of the 4500th....
in the meantime, I'm going to Monza because there I don't have enough of a lead and the gold risks soaring....

I went back to good ol' Grand Valley TT in GT7, and was determined to get GOLD, lo and behold after a 5-6 laps in the lovely Delta Integrale today I acheived it to start off July! Always looking to improve, here is a video included also!

This is the most I could be bothered with on this occasion. Just could not find any interest driving the Swift around here.

Plenty of time in the lap, my entire first sector was atrocious, as was "Miss-hit-Miss" which looked more like "Hit-cut-miss" and the mini-carousel was so many levels of slow. Could probably find a bit more time through the twisty bits between the 2 Carousels as well.

Bit disappointed that this was the car they chose for the Nurburgring. In general I love driving the ring, but in a car that spends most of the lap in 4th gear, it was a bit underwhelming. The Swift would be better suited to Tsukuba or one of the mini Willow Springs layouts, but for a power circuit like the Nurburgring, 137hp is just a bit dull.

Also for some reason they chose to put this on Sports mediums. This might've actually been a fun challenge on comfort soft, but sports medium gives the car so much grip that you can start taking quite a few corners completely flat (I'm looking at you Mutkurve)

Won't get another chance at this, so that'll be all. Probably about 8 laps total in the end.

Onto the Lancia!

Had little time the past few days, being the end of school and start of the vacation for the kids and all...

Did manage some limited time with the Delta yesterday and got my time to a respectable 1:12.217
Optimal is 11.9xx so I will try and put some more effort in when time (and the kids) allows

My daily marathon yesterday was the first stint with the Delta at GV. I like it and is a good combo but at the same time I have to state that I am slow. Without any guides or ghosts I am at low 13 while my Friends list tells me that 11 shouldn't be too hard... Nonetheless a nice one. Enjoy!

So, about those 1.1 seconds that were between me and the gold medal at the Nordschleife...

IMG_1450.jpeg

Had a 90ish minute session, completed 2 (two) valid laps, the first one was whatever, this is the second and last lap, improved 2.7 seconds over my previous fastest time... I was twice on track for a 8:28/8:29 but first I stepped on the brake a bit too late at Hohenrain, and just before the gold lap I messed up the right turn from the Bellof-S to Schwalbenschwanz - I completed the latter lap, it was still a low 8:30. I also checked that at my eventual gold lap I was like 4 tenth slower in the first sector (Sabine-Schmitz through Hatzenbach), so a mid 8:29 would be definitely possible. It won't happen though, I'm too happy with this. Gold at Le Mans, gold at the Nordschleife... with my complete lack of skills this is beyond incredible... Now, I have to try to find ~1 second at Grand Valley for an acceptable gold...

Also, just reflecting on some comments how much grip the Swift has with the SM tires... I invite you to try my G29 and my copy of GT7, I assure, there's zero, as in absolute zero grip with this combo :) Maybe our understanding of grip is different but the blue Swift above was like I drove on ice. Same with the Lancia at Grand Valley, just sayin' :)

Yesterday after setting a PB of 8:23:553, I wanted to give another shot to the Nurburgring TT. Much to my delight, I was able to improve my PB to 8:22:976 which puts me into a solid 392nd rank. I could've gone a few tenths faster still as my 1st sector was about three/four tenths slower on my best lap.

Will miss this TT once it's gone tomorrow.

PEBKAC? 🤪

The Swift has too little power to be on sport mediums here, they’re too grippy and such a weak car has no need for these grippy tyres. What that grip also does is make the car jump and bounce around in a really awkward and unpredictable way because the chassis doesn’t seem to be built for this kind of grip. Set up a lobby, throw BoP on and go around in for example comfort mediums and compare for yourself. You’ll of course be slower going around a lap but it feels way more planted and natural and no longer a chore to drive.

Anyway, just started this. Will report back tonight but not looking great. Hot and humid as hell, stupid flies flying around the living room in my way breaking concentration and yeah, sweating way too much. Gotta go and get a fan.
