As per tradition, saw Tidney's lap guide & tried the Fuji TT. Lovely car have to say. So even though I was keeping in mind Tidney's braking references, I was driving on A/T as the gear changes in M/T really gets me on my toes especially in the last sector. I managed a best of 1:43:752 after running 23 laps which is a modest gold time.

Literally all but 3 laps in my 23 lap run was in the 1:44s.....

Love the car but not much of a Fuji fanatic.

BTW, when I bought this car, loved the fact there were 18 colours to choose from. It's always exciting if a good amount of colour options are available from the start.

I tried the new TT yesterday and can't say I'm too happy for now. Car's OK, obviously with the grello color, although this is the first time I had to use TC since the Alpine VGT at Barcelona. I think I can bring it into silver territory by myself before watching any guides, we'll see. One thing's for sure. I didn't like Fuji until now and my dislike just got worse. The 3rd section is super awkward, seems like they realized that they have to finish the track and just threw something together...

A relatively short stint for my first go at Fuji. I'm not a fan of the course (80's and 90's layout notwithstanding), but I like the car. But I'm sitting here wondering how in the world I'm sitting in the top 3 on my friends leaderboards for all three events right now (even somehow ahead of @Gomario JSP on one??). :odd: Have my alien "friends" not come out to play yet?

It's demanding for sure.

in my opinion the second last corner of Fugi is one of the most complicated and precise corners to nail from any track I've encountered, mainly due to the blindish exit (If you're using bumper cam), and how you have to deal with the clunky ripple strip stuff on the outside to maximise the exit angle.

I spent less than an hour at Fuji last night and I think I'll be fine in 1'43.974....
if I believe Tidgney who's predicting 1'44.100.....

with the GTO, I'm 3/10 short which I think I'll be able to find here or there but the problem is that I hate these cars that don't brake. ....and suddenly stall.....grrr.....🤬🤬😡

I'll try to do that by Wednesday evening but if not, I'll settle for the money....😂😂:gtpflag:

Nice lap buddy,

Yeah... the smurky mercy ...i know...
The problem is the descent lap I thought I did in the beginning, but then PD did gave us tomany great TT,'s were a top 100 was possible ... , and i still need quite some miles to get better and learn the combo's in order to end up high ( for me ) 😁🤣... that returning to the AMG is less attractive to me..
I don't think I could find that much time on it even if I tried again tbh !

Did try Fuji again this morning.... but the last sector wasn't available in my brain...
sharp lefthander before the last corner is hideous... and I think in all my laps I never did hit the final corner.....or apex... 🤣

Wasn't the day.... multiple .2xx but wasn't going to happen today 🤣

Oh god, I just remembered the Monza TT is ending tomorrow evening. Not really in the mindset to do this but ho hey, here we go...
I'm not on your level everywhere (as we've discussed before) but I knew it was never my bag so I bumped into a safe yellow quick and bailed. Monza sucks. Flat tracks are just not my jam. I'm sure you'll find a top hundo right quick!

Well, happily some smooth sailing for once, just a mere 97 kms. There are some gains available but it felt solid enough and sometimes you want to leave things be and stay sane. Other things in life to do as well. Honestly, I doubt I could do a top 100 here to be brutally honest, with it essentially working as qualifying for the AMG VC competition and it being Gr.3 on Monza. I’m alright but it’s not my strongest suit and a lot of other really strong drivers have been sweating it hard, so yeah.

Fuji's 3rd sector has everything I hate about about a corner.

1. Decreasing radius
2. Uphill on entry (Hard to rotate the car because extra weight at the rear)
3. Elevation drop on exit (Front end goes light, can't steer, then rear ends go light and you spin)

It is like the whole thing was designed to annoy the driver with forever understeer, then spin the car around when the rear hits the elevation drop.

In reality though they just tarmac’d the terrain.

I can imagine as a driver it’s no different to sector 3 at Laguna or Most of Knockhill in the UK, technical yes, but it is for everyone and we feel the pain.

I quite like it in ruf as it’s more stable than most stuff in that section but I’m in the minority. Can’t hit the last apex for love nor money to be fair

Decent first session. I like this car but don't quite have the shift points dialed yet for the best exit speeds. It was getting better as the session progressed, right until it didn't. 😂 Fun car though and planted in a weird way and fun to drive for certain. Hope to be back because I'm pretty sure I can improve a little.

Morning folks,

My plan for this morning was to get my garagecar on the board, but after 30 minutes of trying I came to the conclusion that my initial 42.150 was kind of high 🤣.....

I ran 222km throwing sub 42 laps away in S3
It's very delicate when driving on the limit especially in the 2nd gear exits, I tried 3th comming up mainstraight, I think I can make it work but you have to be on point or else ghost is off to Pluto ..

Eventually I did PB at the end with a .101 so kind of happy with the garagecar in there 🤣, but there is just more if I can plant S3 in my brain.

Love the RGT, always been a Porsche fan, predictable but sort of floating on the edge

Just for sector times,
I restarted a lot so optimals are not accurate

The lap, for the once interested 😁

Ok, so I'm closing the door on this time trial today and my result is a 1:41.871 which was set yesterday. Todays session however I unfortunately did not manage to make any improvements but I did get close. I was looking to be about .15 up on my PB which would have easily gotten my time down to a low 41.7 but as you know when it comes to Fuji Speedway, sector 3 ruins everything. As for the combo itself it was decent, I forgot this game had the RUF RGT to be honest, I do remember it was an update car but I don't remember which update and I never drove it once either until now. Overall though, good combo and decent car, handles really nice on the SS tires.

Managed to get the 911 down to a 43.7, I have about another 3 tenths in me but I think that is a safe gold. It's a weird car in that there's a ton of understeer until there's ...... well not! You sorta guess when the front end will bite upon release of the brake.

Living dangerously at Interlagos, with the top time dropping I am at 3.00% :scared:
