I was able to improve to a 1:44.208. I really focused on a couple of things… first of all, pushing very hard in sector 1 curves heading up the hill and trying to heavily leverage the oversteer heading into the last curve in sector 1. Gotta push very hard to get the car to destabilize in just the right way. Second, up-shifting at my slowest point and then accelerating out in many of the turns proved helpful.

Yeah, Sector 1 can be a chore if you're trying to score a good sufficient lap. Make sure to watch some replays from the top 1000 players so you can get an idea on where to improve. It's a big track so many ways can be available. Good luck and keep pushing mate!

Another day, another test at Tokyo Driving Park : And you'll keep telling me again and again. 🤣🤣
Well, yes, another improvement on my time, to 1'45'132 , with a truly interesting best time of 1'44'742...
so I'll come back...🤣🤣 maybe with an improvement...😉😉🤣

It would be cool if PD updated SPA track, speakers corner, that's honestly corner that I like the least on SPA... 🙂View attachment 1468017
Yeah, the turn was too tight everytime I drove through it. Spa is not my least favorite though. I like driving past the audience/crowd and gt7 workers out there. They should make it to where the driver can wave to them. But I doubt PD will add a feature like that.

@Barareklam so when do you predict that they will change the Spa track?

Probably never, as that's a motorbike layout.

Oohhh it looks.like a real nice one Jerome!,
Nice lap, very close to the wall end of S1! 😱
Seems fast! 🙏

A tout!
Thanks a lot my dear Jomar
This S is really very hard to negotiate because the slightest error in trajectory is unforgiving. And this wall at the exit is scary because if you don't take the last kerb properly the car jumps and is unbalanced. So yes I was very hot. I couldn't get close to my optimal time of yesterday of 1'44'7xx but I'm not losing hope. I hope your vacation is going well and above all that you will have time to try this TT which I'm sure you will like a lot

No time for this one buddy!, im on holiday until August 11 so hunt down the board for me! 😁😁😁🙏

Hard to find time for laps these days, but managed a couple of short sessions in the R34 and starting to work out the car and the track. Both sessions have my optimal at 44.18, but still a few tenths to find to stitch it all together on one lap. First sector feels more like a rally stage than a circuit, and the bouncing is a little unpredictable- same for everyone though I suppose 🤷‍♂️

Not running at Spa - did 5 laps at the start of the event, invalidated all of them, called it a day 😂

Someone earlier in the thread made it sound like it is throttle position sensitive, like maybe it will activate at partial throttle mid-corner.

This was mentioned in post 41,403 "Is the the Spa TT dumb as hell? It doesn't seem to be about racing skills but rather about the ability to activate the active aero just enough while not getting into the insane oversteer once you pull the trigger."

Active aero might be the wrong term I'm not sure. What I mean is that the cars grip and ability to turn benefits from accelerating mid corner, which is unusual. The down force is much higher when doing that rather than coasting through it which results in massive understeer.

At least that was my perception, but there are much more knowledgeable people here. I may be wrong.

Short answer to your question is that you need to accelerate slightly or at least not lose too much speed through corners to get around them quickly enough to have a shot at gold.

That's not downforce - suspect it's the game modeling some of the clever active differential equipment that came on the R34, moving power to the rear and making if "feel" more RWD that AWD

I'm still stuck at 3.03% at Spa and I'm done. Just going to eat the silver and move on. The car is annoying.
Me too... I tried again on Sunday, but those poles are driving me crazy...
If I try to pass close by, I go red, so I stay further away (not too far) and I'm slow...
I could be golden if I put it all together, but...
And I had a great lap... and the stress of probably losing everything, well... I lost everything at the bus stop chicane...

Whoever designed that chicane is a criminal...It's much too closed... SPA would be even better with a slightly more open chicane...

Now it's the R34's turn...

105 km in 45 minutes and I've got myself a gold medal....😎🤪🤪

300 km in total... damn: I'll have to go back to Spa??? 🤔🤔😡

No, while waiting for the next one tomorrow, I'll ride for pleasure...

For the record, I tried the ‘strong’ assistance, then ‘weak’ assistance, and finally,
I did my time trial without assistance... go figure...🤣🤣
