A couple of extra tenths have been found :). I don't think this will hold for top 100 so I may have to revisit. The first tunnel is probably the trickiest corner for me. Naif exits it insanely well.

I think that’s me done at KDP, the kerb lottery is not something I enjoy playing over and over and over again!

I’m not really motivated to try the Alfa either, doesn’t feel like Group 4 would suit Trial Mountain so that might be it for a few weeks for me!

I probably could've gone faster but I couldn't miss the start of the Hungarian GP so I had to stop😹 Anyway the 4C is great because it never leaves you wondering. The feedback and the handling is absolutely wonderful and easily comparable to some of the best driving cars in the game.

Smokin' lap though! Thanks for putting up, it's helping me a lot. I use your ghost most the time. 😎

Cheers mate! Trial Mountain is a track that I know very well, gelled with it since it's release. I used to panic during the final sector on a good lap, especially exiting the right after the flat kink section. That corner has a completely blind exit due to the inside wall.

But it becomes unblind when you lap the track over 500 times, If you know what I mean.

Went back to Trial Mountain today and made a really good improvement. Found a tenth over 50 miles this morning but beat my optimal this evening over the next 50 miles to get achingly close to ducking under 2:01. Very happy with this lap though and might not return, dependent on what the next event looks like -

I hadn't much time in the past days to do the TT's.
So only one session with the Alfa so far. It feels much better on those SH tires than i excpected.

I had several 2:02.5 laps, but i'm afraid to get closer to a 2:01 i would need a lot more laps. If i'll find the time for that, i'll happily return.

And the Datsun - oh my what a piece of ***********. That's the type of car that shouln't be allowed on track, that is not just a straight line! They should have call it the "understeery bouncy castle edition"!
I've been constantly on the edge from gold to silver. At the weekend i moved down to 3.03%, so i had to go again 😭

Pleaaaase dear aliens, stop it! I can't stand driving this thing! I'd even prefer that boring VGT from Spa, and i hate EV's!

Hot damn PD!!! I love this combo after such a long time of doing TT's in this game. I tried and tried to dial in as much speed out of that little 4C racer and did it deliver. Managed this time and I now know I can go quicker with some patience and attack, lol!

Also just a 2secs behind @Evilmuffin!!!

I took pictures of this white car version first when I was a silver time, then changed my livery, it added like two tenths to my time improving it ofc, lol. :D

Hi! I'm back a bit. Custom projects account is laying low for a while and i want to get back to learning something. Heard an interview with Calster on YouTube about racing on controller and had 3 little things to do afterwards:
  • setting ABS back to default
  • controller sensitivity back to 10
  • loading Calster's ghost (he is now uploading TT-videos every week)

I did the two current TTs on another account half assed and with more than +4% so i wanted to see if i could get back to gold. What can i say, the Skyline TT was very... unsettling. But after 178km i finally got a lap together. I don't know if i have time for another try tomorrow but this one could already stick.

Oh I know what ya mean! 😎 I'm getting better with the final sector panic. LOL I do like this track, it has a nice flow. It was fun in GT1.
I'm still trying to break into the 2:00s, first sector is killing me, if I can get 32.7xx's more often, I will get it. But it's usually 32.9xx's... I get the occasional 1:15.5xx at second sector. I'm all over it, just haven't put it all together yet. Currently 2:01.083

Echoing the sentiment of a few others. Not particularly fun... I like the Z-tune and I do enjoy Yamagiwa but they didn’t really work very well together. The lines you had to take were diabolical, so incredibly bumpy, the kerb jumping and all the grass driving. Yeah, no thanks. Apart from the long sweeping left after the esses which kinda sucked the rest of the lap was fairly solid, hoping that’ll hold for a top 100. Borderline but I think it should, in any case I feel done with it.

Slow ass Gr.4 to follow up is just depressing, seeking to get rid of that very quickly sometime soon. Step up the game, Polyphony!

After a few days of being busy & also not making much progress in the Trial Mountain TT, I was able to lower my PB to a Gold category time of 2:02:097. It's somewhat tricky as You need to be on the edge & be as close as possible to the walls to get a good time.

P.S. - Today I started my playing session with the last weekly challenge race at Tokyo which kind of frustrated & angered me for how it's designed. I took my anger as a motivation to try doing better in the TT here. Also, as I had raced the Tokyo race twice, I was already in the rhythm so I was able to kind of nail the first tricky fast sector of the TT which helped me get the PB time that I got.

Final session in the Z-Tune last night, was looking like I was going to fall out of the top 100, so I put one final session in for safety. After an hour and a half I found this lap, 1:43.430 which nestles me in around some other seriously quick GTPers. Was questioning if I was going to be able to beat my previous time as the session was not progressing too well, was struggling to get laps underneath a 43.7 and a large majority of the laps were being invalidated before evening reaching the end of Sector 1.

Actual lap felt pretty scruffy, somehow my S1 was the fastest I'd seen, despite bouncing around a bit from taking too much kerb through the first right hander and then getting a small slide in the following left. The long left hander felt a bit slow, but apparently was reasonably good. Chicane was almost perfect, took a bit too much kerb in the second apex which unsettled the car a bit. The exit of the hairpin left involved a bit of a power slide, not sure if that helped with rotation or just cost a bit of time. Following the downhill right/left I was up by 2 tenths on a .619 which made me a bit nervous so I missed the braking point into the final corner, took multiple stabs at the brake pedal when I realised I hit the brakes too early, so probably lost a bit more time there. Optimum at the end was a .38X, which indicated to me that there wasn't much time left in the lap.

Shame they picked Kyoto for the Z-Tune, this is really not a car you want to be abusing the kerbs with, which is unfortunately what you have to do to be fast around here. Its tracks like this that make me wish PD had a 2 wheels on the track policy, instead of 2 wheels on the kerb for track limits.

Took this shot of the middle apex of the chicane to show just how close I was to invalidating my fastest lap. You can see the gap under the sideskirt where the kerb ends in between the front and rear wheels. At separate points the front and rear wheels were 100% off the track, luckily not at the same time.

Added the TV camera replay this time to try and capture the extent of the track limits abuse, but I think the camera angles it picked don't show it too well.

In complete agreement, sir! Not much to add.

I was also very close to falling out of the top 100, that .569 good for P89 I put in yesterday had already dropped to P99 with around nine hours to go which felt quite risky. I was also beaten by two Swedish acquaintances, one of them by just a thousandth. Unbelievable. Couldn't have that, could we?

Frustration naturally followed entering this TT yet again. Got myself a new Z-tune because I wanted that Midnight Purple III colour (exclusive to Z-tune in BC and can't be purchased as a separate colour).

Had a mad luck attempt where I had .427 at the first split after the esses, by far the best start I had, in fact the only .4 in S1 I ever managed. Obviously lost it... Disappointment and anger kept building up. A cigarillo and music on the balcony later I finally got it wrapped up. Stress got to me in the final corner which wasn't particularly good the lap was good enough prior that it worked out.

So, after the 2:03,0 yesterday i thought i could improve that. Never got under 2:04. Most laps where even worse. Checked all controller and aid setting. Everything is alright but my skills it seems. :boggled:

What do you do in such a case? Getting grumpy, question every life decision and never touch the controller again. :grumpy:

When such a situation arrives, try playing with the sensitivity & assists. For long now I've had TC set to 0 but here in this TT I set it to 1. It's very handy in the first sector & last one. Check with CSA set to Weak as an option too.

Also it makes a difference mentally. If You've had a tiring day & then try to play this it won't help.

Thanks but my current goal is getting better generally. Not especially golding the TTs. So Aids off it is for me at the moment. Still, i got it yesterday, not today.

I will go on and watch Tidge and Calster on the weekend for this one. This of course helped a lot in the R34 TT that ends today.

I love most if not all Japanese older road cars. It's just that the CS or any Sports tyre variant shakes my confidence wide. Will try this TT but will get back to Trial Mountain TT because of RH tyres + Trial Mountain has a flowing format which never gets old.

Not sure whether this is an issue or not, but I've reported it to PD. You may see times suddenly drop by .5-.7 seconds on this weeks time trial as you can do a massive run and jump start through the cones. Could be a bannable offence or they may do nothing so just a heads up with it if anyones putting in any serious effort. I'll put something at the end of the video to explain. Definitely works though as I would have smashed my record and got a 25.6/.7 but stopped before doing it as I wasn't sure of the legality of a "Running Start".

Don't worry I can lose all of that time in the first sector alone 🤣.

I wonder what they can do server side to make the lap invalidated?

What helped me several times was watching replays from the top times/drivers. Not all of them a doing/driving the same and sometimes i found ways/tricks that suited me better then that what i saw in Tidgneys vids.

Oh nice, a Nissan that will definatly drive better than that GT-R! Oh, wait ...
And on my most disliked track, fantasic!
I'm out!
