I have seen the current WR replay and i have a trouble. At the end of the lap, near 1:11, Takacs hits a cone without penalty. Is it a bug or a trick, what do you think about that?

All three in the top 3 (I stopped looking there) are like that. In reality the cones won't have been there when they played, as I'm sure @Metalgear9493 would confirm. I suspect in replay mode the game creates a standard track map with cones in their normal places, then overlays the driven lap over it, instead of it being a recording of the lap. The driven lap still 'interacts' with the standard track map, hence dust kicked up, cones knocked over, etc., but it has no impact on what happened in (virtual) reality.

I tried again and did improve.

I can confirm that the entirety of your post is spot on. I can also reveal that I have zero intention of wanting to return to this track due to said cones .

Yup. The track loads in "green" in standard configuration, regardless of how many laps the player did beforehand. Telemetry is then used to reconstruct the lap.

I had just told my wife, who needed me: ‘I'm coming... last try...’ ... and bam!😂

Two days ago, I was at .6xx... Yesterday I was at .5xx, this afternoon at .4xx,
and then just now at .330 when I needed .322... grrrr 🤬😡🤬

Well, I hope it lasts eight days because I'm tired of this ‘circuit experiment’... since I have to start over every time...😂

Uhhhggg. I have to go back. I only had a short time to try it last week and got silver ish, I think. Got frustrated and quit. My DG score is like -0.77 on it. Going to get it in the green and I'm done with this god forsaken desert hell! :irked:

I took a 100% stock Q's 88 on SSRX to test for optimal shifting points.

After 105 miles the results were:

2nd to 3rd: 59 mph (7600 rpm)

3rd to 4th: 85 mph (7250 rpm)

After each shift the rpms drop to 4750 before starting to climb again.

Oh and my time on the Silvia TT is 1'26.450 (no run up or any cone manipulation)

A bit late to the party as I was on vacation for 2 weeks. As predicted, my original silver time with the NISMO GT-R lasted maybe 24 hours max. So only with only a few hours left from the TT I watched @Tidgney's video and loaded up his ghost. The result:

Yes, 1/1000 friggin' second away from silver.... ugh... As I was following Mr. Grady's ghost, I got a pretty good lap, easy silver but only up until 50-60% of the very last corner where I was a bit too eager on the acceleration and spinned the car. This was all with ABS (weak) only. After several more attempts I remembered CSA (strong) and ASM being available to turn on, so I did and did a single lap before shutting down the PS5:

So, the silver streak is kept alive, for now anyway. I haven't been able to even try the running TTs, I hope that the 4C will be nice to me and can secure a silver tomorrow night. I have no idea about the S13 though, I have never been on the Streets of Willow Springs, so that's gonna be interesting for sure.

Thanks for this! Do mind explaining how you determine this? I have always been curious how to go about determining the optimal shift points either theoretically or by testing as you die

Really depends on the length of straight after the shift point. For example you wouldn't upshift to gear 3 after turn 2, you will hold it in 2nd which will top out at 61mph. So essentially madmax's figures are a guideline but not corner specific.

Last night I tried the two current TTs, I have mixed feelings :)

4C Gr.4 @ Trial Mountain: first attempts with the controller, couldn't finish a valid lap (barely touching the curbs) but had a few minutes with the wheel and felt immediately much better and thought that at least I have a banker bronze - until the end of the lap when I saw that I'm not even gonna reach bronze LOL. I'm at 2:11.940, so a lot of work before I hit the goal (silver) :D

S13 @ Streets of Willow Springs: only tried with the controller so far. As I have never seen this layout before, it was full of nasty surprises. Nevertheless, after a few - mostly invalid - laps I managed to improve like 2-3 seconds over my initial time. Again, I felt pretty good about the 1:32.297 and the optimal 1:31.963. Again, I was badly surprised when I saw that I completely forgot about the target times. Still, at least it's a bronze now and have a week to improve, unlike with the Alfa...

Custom race with no other variables than shifting points.

This combo is so fun, managed to drop to a 1:25.289 but there is definitely a .1 possible as from what I've seen from my splits, a good combined lap will definitely manage it. That last little turn is my only issue as sometimes I do it perfectly and other times I'm way off, it's like a coin flip. Otherwise I feel like I have everything else nailed down.

Just the 1 session at Trial Mountain. Wasn't all that enthused by this combo, racing around Trial Mountain can be fun, but time trialling it is a bit of a chore.

Not sure why they'd pick such an underpowered car for a track with 2 long straights. I had enough time to sift through my music playlists every time I got to the main and back straights. The 4C is ok to drive, could certainly do with some more power, but it is a well balanced car and has plenty of grip, that does make it a bit dull though.

So many laps were invalidated in this session, particularly through the first set of corners. You forget that this track is basically a street circuit with how little run off there is and how close all the walls are.

This was my first and only sub 2:01 lap, and I immediately called it quits after that. The lap felt altogether pretty good, and I couldn't see many obvious places for improvement, and I really did not want to have to attack the first 3 corners again.

Tonight my streak of 16 consecutive silvers (sprinkled in with 3 golds, DeLorean, Le Mans and Nordschleife) ends at Trial Mountain. I could only do a few laps, vacation and work just went against it.

Can't say I'm happy but it is what it is. I hope that I can start a new and longer streak with the Silvia.

I got some more laps in, still don't like it. But, did start to find a groove once I got the feel of the car. I wanted to drop into the 25's, but the beers stopped that. I maaaaaayyyyy revisit this one to try 25's.
Funny thing, that 0.072 is the same time holding me off the 2:00 lap on TM :irked:

That's how it always goes when you're doing a TT. Actually anybody. You have to run at least 10 laps to get a feel of the car you're driving and to get used to the track if it's new to you. But it looks to me like you're handling Streets of Willow pretty smoothly, just be patient and hang in there. Maybe you'll get lucky and pull a 1'25.XXX lap out of thin air.

Good luck mate...
