Yeah,I'm having the same trouble :)

Understeer on turn-in and understeer on the power as well

I'm just driving round it atm.

Would welcome any advice to cure the power understeer-on the 2nd double apex corner before the long straight and 1st tunnel, the ghost I'm chasing looks like he can go full throttle, whereas I've got to wait to get on the power and its costing me at least 3 or 4 tenths. :grumpy:
 Not a tuner at all. Just mess around with it, but no where near being a tuner or your TIME! Not sure I got bumped into the 200 zone yet :(.

Sorry for critizing it. I just noticed it was harder for me to getting the car to slow down. The 2 double apex I have the same issue too. It is a 3rd gear entry and 4th gear exit point, but in the apex is where my car pushes to wide if I stay WOT. So I do have to lift a bit to make the exit clean.

The big issue that I seem to have is turning the car into the slow turns after braking...it just wont responde quick enough to do a slow down, point and shoot out of the corner like I would want it to do. Losing lots of time before I am pointed enough to get going.

Day or so ago I wrote;

"However I'll settle for my latest time of 1:48.626 (back under 1,000 for a while, #957 and inside my usual 4 sec's off the lead ) in the Supra, thanks Killer.

I found that the Supra doesn't corner as well as the NSX, may be just me, but it was pronounced. Of course seeing the NSX way back there in the rear view mirror on the straights is a real booster."

IMO PD messed this TT up big time. I was having so much fun in the NSX. After the up-date you need the Supra to be competitive. The Supra is such b*itch to drive like Numb said. Tried your tune Numb but it's still understeery as hell. Tried Ridox2JZGTE tune and it's less understeery but you had to be so careful on the exit (lowered the rear toe and the LSD a bit). I improved, yes but having lot less fun driving it. I want to be competitive but also want to enjoy it. Couldn't they wait with the up-dat till after this seasonal :grumpy:

Thanks to the both of you for sharing your tune.

1:45.7xx atm and still about .3xx to .4xx left on the track here and there. But i doubt if i'm gonna try to nick it together.

Another disappointing action of PD :ouch:

Finally the network comes back on line :)

Just had a 1st hour in the Yellow Hat... 1'45.466 for 18th.

Got what feels like a nice tune going - it's still got a bit of mid corner understeer, but I don't think it's possible to get rid of that completely, only reduce it.

Car feels quite nice to me... not as well balanced as the NSX, but if you get your entry speed right, and don't try to pick up the throttle too soon, it's pretty decent.

I'll post the tune shortly once I've run a few more laps.

Your right. Patience is needed with that Supra.

Can't wait for your tune

You mean 1:45 ;)

Nice 1-I'll give that a go in a bit 👍
Knew it wouldn't be long before you overtook me on the leaderboards :)

I took my final drive ratio to 3.390-found I was bouncing the limiter on the 2nd pit straight.
EDIT: just noticed that amo has used the woodone supra for a 44.3!! But it hasn't logged his replay for some reason.

Did anyone notice that the premium epson NSX is 9cm wider then the other NSX's and that the other premium NSX's weigh 1100kg instead of 1150-1170kg's. The nsx is down on power and wing, but up on torque and maybe just maybe the width of the premium epson NSX could make it competitive with the Yellow hat YMS Supra 05.

Hi Stotty,
may I say awesome tune. Instantly made all my PSN friends jealous  Golded, moved up > 12.000 (!) places in global ranking.

Here's what I have so far....

Gears (Set final to 5.500,..

One small correction though: shouldn't final be @ 5.000 ?

Thanks again!

Yes, should be 5.000... Post editted 👍

Just had a go in the R35 at Madrid... yuck! What an understeering POS that is. Got myself in the top 100, but doubt I'll bother with it again

Thanks for the tune buddy. Gonna give it a go in a bit, on my way home from germany, on the phone right now. And great lap time 👍

What's wrong with the leader board. Mygranturismo and the ranking app is not showing anything :grumpy:

On thing though... before I even drive the car... the diif settings are very high. I'd expect a car with those settings to understeer on corner entry (high decel) and oversteer on exits (high accel).

Edit
For me, not as quick as my own tune... 1.45.8xx was my best lap in it.

It is hard to drive with your diff settings! if you try my diff with your suspension you'll find it's actually quite easy to drive. For me (and my style), your tune has a fraction more understeer... noticable in the 2nd part of the 2 double apex corners, entry to the 1st part of the fast left/right and also in the 2nd part of the chicane. More than likely expainable by different braking techniques - I set mine up to take advantage of the 'brake release oversteer', but someone with a different braking style might not get the advantage.

I'd say it's different technique - I'm about .3 quicker with my diff on either of our tunes!

40, 50, 20 is usually where I set the diff when I start tuning a car

I have Amo on my friends list and he usually shares his cars. In the last TT I noticed he was using 5 45 5 on the SLS when I borrowed his car... just made it too wayward on corner exits for me. I know there's a traction advantage if you can use a tighter diff, but I don't have the throttle control skills - or the patience to wait for that one lap where I don't get a tank slapper going somewhere

I often switch between active steering strong, mild and off. Depends on the car, the track, the tyres, my mood etc. Tighter diff certainly helps when it is turned off.

I also tend to use a downshift to induce a bit of oversteer for the tighter corners.

Stotty, you're the geezer once again. I was doing better with the Tom's Woodone Supra until I tried your tune on the Yellowhat. Ironically last time I tried one of your tunes I found it too lively and fiddled with it to make it easier to drive, but this time I found it too neutral and raised and softened the back end to try to get more oversteer. I've set my best time with it like this but it may just be down to more practice. Last time I regretted trying to improve on your settings but if you don't try you don't learn.

I've used your tune Stotty, and I'm still around 1:47.5xx, though I've made up about two seconds with it. I don't know what's wrong with me  I haven't had time to play GT5 as it's exam season, and I haven't done the Twin Ring in a while, so I'm a bit slow :irked: Just need more time to learn the lines I guess ...

Nice setup, I did 1.45.9 in few laps, but for me it is very possible to do 1.45.6 or 1.45.5, if your configuration has some improvement please post it.

I improved to 1.45.713

👍

setups are great but i do wonder about the technique.
That sudden slide in the middle of the corner - what inputs exactly are used to achieve that.

Slowly lift off the break while steering into the corner. The faster you release the break the more the back end steps out. Try it to the extreme in the begining, to get the feeling and then just fine tunenit to perfection. That' the hardest part

Hope i explained it right

Look at one of the replay's at the top of the board. Use cockpit view. How they steer and after that look at the hub display of there pedal control

RUF CTR2 and Tommy Kaira ZZII are both a lot of fun around Madrid

With the right tune, they may get close to the GTR V spec

Wow, using pmjg's loaner Woodone Toms Supra instead of the Yellowhat Supra with Stotty's tune, after about a dozen tries I jumped from 1:48.4 to 1:47.8.

And now we have a wet season electrical storm here so I'm turning everything off, pulling out all the cords and I'm outta here.

I would add that I changed the LSD to Stotty's 9 10 5.

It's times like these that I realize I take California weather for granted.
I <3 you Cali!
