There was some marble areas really close to the racing line on one corner at the RedBull Ring. I got onto it several times and each time feared that would lose a lot of grip but I never did.
...I think I'll get some testing to do. Donno how to make it consistent though, but will try...
Because as up until now, I didn't notice any difference TBH, only difference that I've noticed is if I go out of track, tires need some time to get grip back, but that was said in some of the patch notes a while ago...
I thought they were put in to represent where there would be grip loss would be when the "grip loss reduction" was set to real off line. Or was I just imagining that?
If it’s set to “low” then I still believe there is a reduction but it isn’t very severe/doesn’t cause you to lose grip for the next few corners like running off the track does.
But if it’s set to real then I can confirm that there definitely is a difference and that it seems to have a lasting effect for a corner or two afterwards too.
I noticed this especially in the FIA FRS race at Fuji. Trying to take alternate lines to pass others would just end in my car washing out, especially in the last sector.
It's seemed really inconsistent to me, but two of you mentioned different settings, as well as the FIA races, and that makes a lot of sense. I'm going to pay more attention to that the next time I drive.
Yes it absolutely makes a difference.
It's in the patch notes from the patch before last.
I'd imagine settings would have an impact on the strength/ length of grip loss.
