Last night i was driving and i was able to do it without any tier noise. and each lap became a faster laptime. Is it just me or does tire noise mean you are going slower than you should be?

Tire noise comes from the tires when grip level is at the absolute maximum I guess, and when you lose it completely they screech. So tire noise has no direct connection to laptimes I guess, but you have to make the most out of the grip. Like sometimes it can be a good thing to oversteer.

The smoother the faster :)
Remember, From outside to the inside, then to outside again ;)
But sure, on some turns its OK to have little tire noise.

i mean. im using the g25. the stearing gets very tight when i have the most grip. maby im wrong. but i feel i have the most grip when there is not any noise. Maby wat im trying to say. Is tire noise the way PD says your at the limit. The fastest i am able to go without drifting(tire noise).

no tier noise. and its being driven hard.

There is tire noise from the 350z. Listen carefully in the first right corner after the long straight. That's the sound of being on the grip limit. Which means it will understeer unless you snap on the throttle and get oversteer. A bad solution in most cases.

Well there is some tire noise, but it's more like a scraping sound. Which is really how it should be in GT5p for the most of the time too, but the tire noise is a little off.

But yeah, I don't think tire noise is directly tied to lap times either. Maybe the laps you've driven that had tire noise were not as tight? Racing lines mean a huge difference. I guess ideally you'd be on the racing lines with a little tire noise. Not the screeching tirenoise that means you're drifting though.

ill try to post a video on it. so you guys can tell me wat you think.

is there anyway to take a gt5 replay and put it on to a memory stick?

If by tire noise you mean screeching. Then yes, of course, that will affect your lap. As it's the sound of your tires losing traction and slipping.

But in some corners and some cars its an unavoidable consequence. Just make sure it happens as little as possible.

STI for example, Biggest scratcher for me, but still has fast laps.

Tire noise depends on the tires you have, now my car doesn't make any sound when turning, even on the limit. If I slide the tail then it will make a sound, but its from tires not griping on the right direction. ie drifting.

In GT5 you will always hear a tiny noise, but if you hear it very very loud, its cause you turning the wheel more than what you need (FF cars) or the rear is sliding (FR cars).

So yes, minimum tire squeal is the optimum when turning, IMO.
