Tire width/wheel size

I think we should be able to change them, particularly for cars people use for drag racing. I'd love giant tires in the back with wheelie bars and tiny tires in the front. Also, I think that we should be able to use smaller tires to utilize how many times the drive shaft spins to how much the wheel turns each rotation. I'm sure there are ways to correct this now but adding that would make the performance combined more realistic in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure the wheel size does change when you're adding aftermarket rims instead of the originals but I don't think it makes any difference in handling and performance as the various tyres do that so I dont think PD will bother introducing it.

For example they don't really care too much on bodykits or style of exhausts, vinyls etc as they don't focus on modified aesthetics too much (example-standard cars) but rather the way the car performs.

I don't think they change size but they add or remove weight.

Yes slightly. It's been proven. It's almost not noticable. I believe it was implemented in GT4, and when purchasing a wheel it says avoid purchasing big bulky wheels if you want to add weight to your car. I don't think it had an effect until GT5 though, even though it said that in GT4.

See that is something I was not aware of whatsoever

Most people aren't until someone brings it to thier attention

Are these changed in gt5? If not should we be able to change them?

No you can't change them but on certain cars like the '69 Camaro RM for example has thick, wide back tires.

I think you should be able to change some aspects of tire/wheel size.

It could change with different tire "stages", e.g. Softs. For example, lets take the Sports tire "class". We know that it's compounded and built for high-performance street to sports cars. Now if you compare Hards to Softs, the following aspects could change between the two of them:

  1. Tire tread: The tread is lessened to improve contact patch, but it can be dangerous on wet terrain, as there's little way to channel out water. And noise frequency is lower than Hards (not sure about this, as we'll have to know the tread pattern).

They could be more aspects that could've changed between the stages, but for now the tread seems to be the most significant.
