Just A Idea - When There Are 4 Or More Gtp Drivers In A Race With Regular Driver. Why Dont All Gtp Drivers Stop And Let The Others Keep Racing, Then All Gtp Drivers Can Have Our Own Battles With No Other Drivers Knocking Us Off The Track. ( Clean And Fast Racing ) I Wish There Can Be Only Gtp Tag Drivers Only Races Online?
 
I get the strangest feeling that you will not get many people agreeing with this idea, after all the point is to race. Private races should be in the autumn update, but waiting for other drivers to go past, stopping and then racing doesn't sound like a workable plan to me.

On a more general note, please do not start every word with a capital letter, it serves no purpose at all, and just makes you post more difficult to read. When you joined GT Planet you did agree to use proper grammar.

There will be soon, aren't people in the process of making private rooms or whatever. So only certain people can join.
 
Yeah PD is making an update, don't know how long but we will see private rooms. As well as clans/fan clubs etc.
 
Hi there, Energiya, and welcome to GTPlanet!

I've had some races where we would do just that (with Cashwars and a french guy called "Valentinik", I think). One of us would get punted off the track and the other two would just wait, regardless of what was going on in the race.

However, punters aren't usually very skilled, so it will always be probable that we close the gap and meet them again.

I know how you hate people that cheats and rams others, but the trick is not to stay behind them, is to get in front and vanish from their view :)
 
this may have been asked before....is having the GTP name in your PSN ID a must? i raced a GTP member last night and along with two other races with non GTP names like myself and it was brilliant clean racing...is the name a "must have"?
 
If you check the "Online races you enjoyed" thread, and many others, you'll notice that in these boards non-tagged players are as much praised as tagged ones. This same subject is also discussed in the "Biased GTP-ers" thread.

In short, the answer to your question is ... No, it itsn't a must have.

However, if you want to enter official GTP competitions (when they become possible,) I think you'll need to be registered in the Official GTP PSN ID Registry.
 
in relation to the same..might be a naive one..changing my PSN id is permitted or do i have to create a new account...?

Well, if there are a lot of punters, we would just catch up to them anyway. And we would never finish the races if we waited a ridiculous amount of time. For those that have GT4, remember Mission 34? You sat there for two minutes, waiting to start while the other cars have left. It was so boring.

Coordinating the exact start time would be next to impossible. People would be jumping early, starting late, and it wouldn't be fair like it is at the real start time.

Besides, the punters are easy to get around with enough practice. You just have to know when to pass when they make a mistake or how to fake them out. You'll get better as you continue to race.
 
i agree with DTWmetro, it really isn't that hard to get around the punters, even though i got punted 3x on T1 on suzuka, by the second lap i still got past the 2-3 punters at the back and made most of the time up.

All i know about is from playstation blog.com (GTupdate post) they said they will implement FRIEND INVITES and VOICE CHAT not priate rooms ( which sounds like dark- rooms to me).
Ever heard about 2.40, XMB, game invites, voice chat?

private rooms is the ability to invite friends :lol: firmware 2.40 is only in game XMB, didn't know anything about game invites...

Once private arenas arrive then yes, we can have 100% GTP_tag races. May I suggest you register your GTP_ PSN ID so that you can join us when the fun really begins:

This is just unfair, I bought the PSN version of the game and I'm unable to create a new user with the GTP_ tag. I am a member of GTP and I'm a clean good driver why should i miss out just coz of 3 letters in front of my name. Why is the tag so crucial?. So you wont let me race with you guys just coz I have not got a tag. I have also been punted of plenty of times by you guys so don't get so high and mighty about your 3 letters GTP_ does not mean a clean driver it means nothing apart from discrimination.

I also think it is unfair that you can't create a new user to play GT5P online just because you bought the downloadable version. I don't have a clue about how Sphinx will deal with situations like yours, I sugest you ask him directly via PM, or in the Official Registry Discussion thread he created.

Now, about the allegation that you have been punted plenty of times by GTP tagged racers, or that tagged players feel high and mighty about the three letters, or that these mean nothing but discrimination, I think your (justified) frustration for the inability to use those same three letters while racing GT5P got you way out of line.

Firstly, even if the "odd apple" (as Sphinx put it) is always possible, I just don't believe you, and I say this with the experience of many nights of online playing, in races where there were tagged and non-tagged players.

Secondly, if you find "odd apples" you should report them, as asked by Sphinx. If you don't want to do that, at least PM them, and read what they have to say before jumping to conclusions and accusations.

Thirdly, I don't understand how you are, at the same time, frustrated because you can't change your PSN ID to add GTP_ to it (and I repeat, I fully sympathize with you about that) and convinced that the use of that tag "means nothing apart from discrimination"

Yeah just friend/game invites are not exactly the same than a.... private room.
In private rooms you can kick players, may it because they are better or worse than you... which means you will never be able competing with the best drivers out there, only with the ones you may think they are the best. - you is not you personally, but generally :)
BTW could someone explain me how this privat - rooms shall be implemented in GT5p ?
It will be in the full game GT5 most probably, but PROLOGUE ??!

All you have to do is PM me, Inform me about your problem (I'm not a mind reader), and I will help you like I have helped other members who have the same problem as yourself. :rolleyes:

I want the tag so I can join in, the community races. I joined this forum for that reason. Only to find that I can't because I not only needed the game and an account here. I also needed the correct formation of letters in my ID.

It make's no difference to me if you believe me or not, it has no relevance in my game, but, yes i have been pushed a number of times by GTP_ players maybe deliberate maybe not but, defiantly so.

What is the use reporting to a community that will not accept you because of your PSN ID, i thought registering with GTP would have been enough. Report a "bad apple" I am a bad apple coz I aint got GTP_ apparently.
 
Thats a bummer, how can they tie a full downloaded game to one single account !!! Does that mean you would have to buy it again, just because you want to change your ID?

Don't know why I'm complaining to you lot really guess it's PD's and Sony's fault. Should be able to change your PSN without buying the game again.
 
err am i missing something here, you can have more than one PSN account, don't think you can change it, i had till recently an account with Cashwars and an account with GTP_Cashwars(now deleted)

Contrary to popular belief, GTP members have been found to be mere humans, complete with emotions, bad apples, the lot.
You will find that most GTP drivers (Especially the ones active on the forum) are quite clean, that said, this is still racing and 'if you can't stand the heat, get out of the pitlane'.
I mean, there are more cars then two involved, are you sure the punt you received wasn't the result of another punt further back.

You need to be carefull before accusing someone, that's why we replays are lacking so much.
I'm sure that if i analyse myself in a replay, i'll see things i didn't know i did (or didn't), there is so much going on, it would be premature to assume certainty without having seen the situation from everyones perspective.

I'm not pretending i am always patient and understanding, i too do get an occasional 'red haze'.
I'm sure i make my occasional mistakes, and it is frustrating when someone deliberately punts you.
Especially if they wear a GTP tag, and i'm sure i speak for all (but one;)) of us when i say that hearing stories of bad behaviour by fellow/sister(wouldn't that be nice) GTP members it makes us angry and dissappointed (in varying mixtures).

Please do remember that GTP does not 'hand out' tags, anyone is free to choose their name (or change it, if you have the hardcopy), so it is not even certain that the one that punted you is in fact a member, GTP cannot control the PSN id.

Apart from the already mentioned threads, there is a thread wrt 'truth123', a non gtp driver that seems to be quite popular (though mysterious as the stig he is said to be), most of us are aware the world doesn't stop where GTP ends.

I like the idea of waiting, but like most others question if it's practical.
The races where all contestants are more then 30s apart are commonplace (since PD it seems listened to us nagging about the rubberband ;)), we\d really have to wait a full minute and then hope a driver like truth123 is not leading the pack because we'll head for two rounds then ;)

For me, i just need to be quicker then the punters, so another decade of practicing should get me there :cheers:

I think our startingtimes are known by most now -don't you love seeing that progressbar fly to completion, missing the schedule by 30 secs is not an option i noticed :)
