I would have used it to send a few cars to my main account, but this seems a bit complicated to do, so maybe I'll pass.

This literally takes less than five minutes to do and no one as tried it? I guess people didn't really wanted to download the file.

This will work, well until one of the people who downloaded the file decides to change the password and then everyone but them will be locked out and they will have all the cars just for themselves.:ouch:

ha i didn't even consider that. though you would need to know the security question or password to his email account

I've got about 20 laps left in this round of Indy, but I'm pretty sure the OP is right. As long as you're offline, or using it on an PS3 user account that hasn't signed up to the PSN, you SHOULD be able to use this. I'll confirm in about ten minutes.

Yeah, that should work.

But there's even a better way if you not on OFW anymore. Just change a few files inside the save and that's it, you will be able to use it on your own account if you want it.
I won't post how to do it tho, go google it if you want it so much.

Thanks OP, I will try this out when I'm done with my current session of my RedBull X2010 automagically grinding on Indy.

Was wary of allowing this, but it's his savegame, he can do whatever he likes with it.

Sadly that's not the case under the ToS. These are supported in law by all signatories to the Berne Convention including the US where GTPlanet.net is registered.

The ToS are quite specific;

Sony ToS for PSN:

You may not provide anyone with your name or any other personally identifying information other than your Online ID, nor the name, password or personally identifying information of any other person or business through any means, including messaging, chat or any other form of PSN communication.

You may not sell, buy, trade, or otherwise transfer your Online ID, Sony Online Services account or any personal access to Sony Online Services through any means or method, including by use of web sites.

It seems that deleting this thread and discouraging all such future activity from the site might be the best idea.

Just tested it in a simple way, made a new user and copied my own data directly over. Didn't work.

I wonder though, if the data is from a user who hasn't signed up on the PSN yet, would it work?

I'm failing to see why people are getting so upity about this. If this fella wants to share a save game and provides a simple solution for doing so, what's the problem?

Yeah, yeah "cheating" blah de blah. But if you get so concerned about other people not playing the way uyou would like them to, you might want to have a long, hard look at yourself.

Fair comment, of course... but distributing save games and the details of PSN IDs is strictly against the ToS. Personal opinion doesn't come into it.

I would presume that this site enjoys a good relationship with PD's publicity department. Why would they want to spoil that?

so the first person log on to this account each day can tranfer a car to his own account, all other users will get the message "you cannot send more than 1 car per day, as you have used your limit of the day"...?

Just a thought. You create a new user on your PS3. You do not register that username with PSN. How does the game know what PSN is valid for the username?

I'll try anything once and download your file.

Edit: Went with the simple approach. Copied a save from my USB into a new user with no PSN access and it would not load. Not sure what would happen if the save on the USB was created in an offline game. I presume the user name has no relevance with an offline only account.

It doesn't know, anyone can use that file, until somebody signs with it. That is the reason why it always asking you about signing in to PSN. That is technically what happened here I have a game save that was never given a PSN. When the backing up was enable I just copied this to my main file but still had the original unassigned file. This is what gamers tend to do when you pay them to unlock trophies for you. They don't play the game over and over they just copy the unassigned file and log in with your info and get trophies.

The problem is that I assigned the file a PSN because nobody believe it would work and wanted things the easy way. You don't need to be online just assign the user the PSN that was given in the file.

I didn't realise that your save was created in an offline only account. Gets USB stick and wanders to PC...

I always keep an unassigned save data since my launch console stop reading disk, I send it to Sony and to my surprise all my game saves were deleted from the system. I now use a different PSN since then and lost all I had achieve in the other.

So much for owning rare and valuable cars... Everyone on this website will now own them.

This was meant to be only for offline use for those people that can invest the time in the game. My wife as been really pissed off at me for about 2 weeks since I have neglected in a away my kids since the game came out. I will reach level 40 A-Spec tomorrow and I'm done with the game. I will leave the game running on B-spec just to get it to 40 but will hardly play it from now on.
