Well seems like I won't be playing this game. Takes so much resources I can't even get into the main menu. :indiff:

Ok after now playing the demo I must say I dont like this game,

* The graphic dont look all that great, the tracks look plain, the other cars with you on track in the distance look wierd and like they are floating above the track (all graphic settings highest)

* The driving physics are arcadey, I dont seem to get much feedback from the tyres, I turn and the car just goes around the bend.

* The AI is pretty stupid, I purposely braked in front of one and he just braked also to a stop, even though I was on the side of the track and he could have easily passed.

* Menu's are annoying they clearly spell out "Console Ported", I hate that.

* When I let off the throttle the car takes a second to start slowing, not very responsive at all.

* Not very realistic damage model, I purposely crashed hard at alot of speed into the rear of another car (06 Civic) and all they got was very slight damage.

I didnt like the last Race Driver/TOCA/V8 Supercars game and I didnt expect much from this one, they added alot of modes but all arcadey.

I hated the fact that I can go around a corner, in speeds that in real life would never be seen in a car like that. Graphics are poor, anyone else missing the steering wheel inside the car?

Yeah the incar view is crap, with regards to the grpaihcs, I put them on maximum on my pc and they looked very good, but it didn't run smooth. You have to remember theres still a few months for them to optimise the code for the PC version. Overall I thought it was pretty good, regarding the cars cornering at speed, you'll find a lot of cars like that can when they've been made lighter and had racing tyres fitted. It's not as realistic as other sims like GTR, LFS S2 and Enthusia, but it's not completely off.

I agree 100%. As far as GFX I have a DX9 card and nothing was great lookin' to me. rFactor looks much better with setting maxed.

After reading all the replies in here I wont even waste my time DL it. The majority vote shows this game doesn not look impressive at all.

Yeah, I was particulary dissapointed at the engine sound.

The handling was very simple as well.

It's probably a case of the PC being too much of a port form the console versions, so the PC version isn't optomised as well. It could be sorted in the next two months but since most of you are more interested in the PS2 versions wait for a PS2 demo before you make your mind up on the game, you'll probably find it a lot better.

Downloading the demo as we speak, all these console ports/games designed to be released on consoles never get the true potential out of PC hardware :( Developers most of the time don't care either, apart from say upgrade.

GTA : SA is a good example, my 'now not quite so new' PC is far far faster than my old one yet I only gained about 5-10fps (Can stick up graphics as high as I'd like however with no difference).

I enjoyed the Race Driver 2 demo, so bought the full game but didn't really enjoy it (Probably because of the absence of the BTCC races too). Doesn't sound like this game is gonna be much better, atleast it will save me buying it plus i have GT : L. I still think the 'original' TOCA 2 touring cars is the best in the series.

What does Starforce do on a cd/dvd less demo anyhow?
