Uh-oh.

The "Stock" Evo reaches sixty in 3.1 seconds. Not cool.

And the handling is too good. It darts around.

This game is sooo fun!!!! I played for an hour so far and it is already well worth the buy. I just beat Tier 2 Class B 4wd challenge. What a blast. Its sooo much better playing a race game with intelligent AI! :) Plus there are 20 other vehicles!!!
It is a little easy right now so I might make some other adjustments to make it more challenging. This reminds me a lot of Toca 2 and that is a good thing. :)
The graphics arent the greatest but I could care less when the game is this much fun.

If your talking about the Tier 2 class b evo challenge, that evo is not stock at all so 3.1 is quite realistic. :sly:

Ashley.
Pro sim will make it much more realistic, my evo 5 managed a 1'40 on laguna...

I completely agree. Listen to Ashley, he knows what he's talking about. 👍

Pro-sim is the only way to go if you're looking for realism.

Yep, this is a wonderful game, a huge leap from Toca 2, doing the classic rally in pro career mode right now, fun as hell.

I just did the Global GT in Pro career, on hard difficulty. Wasn't all that hard, but the race in the rain was very hard. I just skipped it.

I only got a small taste of it last night, Pro Career the 1st tier of classics, the palmer and the strange dirt thingies as well as a token layer of the world tour.

:)FAST AS FUGGIN HOTKNIFE BUTTER!:)

With the complete ruleset turned on, the flags come thick & fast at first but that's why i chose the Palmer series @ the Bedford, no AI to get the feel o/th wheel and WTF? these things are all Nitroed inc. el clio, the delicious Jag & the Palmer Audi.
What's truly superb about this game is it relies on the attractiveness of the venues and thusly, must be the benchmark for online racing.
GT4 is all walls nearly which (thekanyon) you can drag yourself through w/ the requisite infinite number of runs.
Cannot do that in TRD3, at least not with full rule implementation, & MOST of the tracks on this platter are high-speed aerodromes & F1 sets, thusly you rely on much smaller visual clues for braking points which you will be penalized if you over-extend therefore you must learn the racing line, you have to learn w/ your sense of control well established:trouble:.
It's not really a dreamland of marques, a little bit of a grown up attitude will survivor;).

Ashley.
The rubber is very sticky, pro sim was on all the way, difficulty on 95% and laps set to 5.:)

The F1 races are intense, very fast indeed, when your overtaking or being overtaken, you need to be so careful as one touch could end you race, you even have to be gentle when hitting rumble strips, especially big ones, they can break your suspension, in practice at hockenheim my front right went a wobbly after continuously hitting a rumble strip hard lap after lap.

Despite how hard it is to win races, the lap times seem very fast. I did a 1'05.xxx at Hockenheim GP and only got me 17th place with the pole time sitting at 1'02.xxx. Its dissappointing that the F1 series only has 9 races but the fun factor and challenge makes up for this:D Heres the list of tracks that you run in the F1s..

Hockenheim GP
Nurburgring Short
Osceschleben
Shanghai
Bahrain
Silverstone GP
Adelaide
Eastern Creek
Spa-Francorchamps.

No Istanbul, that only seems to be in the DTM.

I like your difficulty level, Ash,👍 that Nurb short sounds tasty.

I unlocked the Special 60s GP for the simulated races, treated myself to a 5/3/5lap series of Mondello, Snetterton & the Norisring @ a v.cautious 75%.

The noise of the Lotus type49
lotus.gif
is pure sex! but 192mph on the straight of snetterton from a 175bhp machine? is this TT gone flat?
It is a might twitchy but i leave pro-handling & damage on, what i do do though is take gravel traps off for tricky races & qualifying, especially if you are'nt perfect on that track as nullifying the lap + oth penalties is too distracting if ure worried about the perfect line & handling the beast

I love the way Codies have made the new vehicle tweaks far less leftright 3lev and more like what PD were getting at.

But the Lotus is absurdly sexy, godbless the noriserring but i made 28secs headway on 75% AI and had the tuning so the tail was coming around real intuitive Only; :grumpy::grumpy:No Space to save the frickin' replay!

& thank you:tup:, MasterGT, for the flags&rules evaluation guide

also, this makes perfect sense;

Here is why the ToCA 3 engine sound for your car sometimes breaks:

"RD2 uses a looped, memory resident sample system whereas RD3 uses long sweeps that have to be spooled real-time from the DVD.
The engine sounds can only cut out if the DVD fails to read that sector of the disk, which is much more likely with old and worn decks, dirty lenses, scratched disks or DVD-R's (much higher error rates). Read errors happen all the time, even on new DVDs and decks, but the decks are designed to cope with this. We also buffer the sound ahead of when it is needed and so can experience a large number of read fails (around 20 I believe) before any dropouts occur.
If dropouts do happen, you will lose car engine audio for a few seconds before a backup looped system (used for other AI cars) takes over. The spooled system then picks up again when the read errors drop. You can test this by playing the game and taking the disk out. The engines will stop before the looped system takes over." Remember as well..you will have to turn the pro sim settings on each time you start the game, glitch in the saving. And i swear by the 95% difficulty at the moment:D doesnt make it impossible to win but it certainly makes you drive hard and well for it..

Where are these pro sim and sim options? I went to the options, and turned on three "sim" options (damage, handling and something else), is that it?

Anyone did the TMS on hard?
I managed 32.5, while the AI did 31.8. It's very hard.

Felipe: Yes, I think you did it right. Just remember to always turn them on when you restart your PS2.

Always review Options at acceptance/start of every Series, then, as far as i know (old N/APS2 syndrome) you may restart every practice, qualifying or race turn (event). There's also the profile step for disable auto.

Yeah, those are the ones, but its amazing how much of a difference they make.

I just got my 19 cup in pro career, and I unlocked the Bonus WilliamsF1 Challenge. You can race the F1 on Bathurst, and it's really hard just to stay in one piece.

So much fun. :D

Just got it and I'm enjoying every second of it... Played just a couple of cups, but unlocked the Honda series through the Honda UK website. The lawnmower race is great fun!

i'm on pro carreer and i;m doing well! i went on class GT and i'm on British GT, i want to race with those tuners! Iwhen i've done that i will probably do open wheel, the only thing is that you have to race in the go karts, which i hate!:ouch:

I had time to play this a little more on saturday. I unlocked the monster trucks and spent the rest of the night popping wheelies with them and just messing having fun with the replays. I cant wait to try this online some time. :sly:

Well, I was able to rent this so will see how bad or hyped it is. I'm not expecting much. I guess if it's decent I might consider the PC version.

I'm so trying to like it but it's just so damn boring and bland. The PC demo was the same way. I'm looking forward to CRC '05 though.

Since I rented this and happen to have the ARmax cheat codes I used them to see all the contents of it and it's still not a game that I'd buy, not even for the PC. Oh well... I wasn't expecting much anyway.

Eh, we have different tastes, I think this game is very good.

20 cars at the same time, damage, 35 motorsport and 80 tracks does it for me. 👍

I think the majority of the members that play this game will like it. Its better than I expected. Its like having several games all in 1. :)

I love the fact that you can run against 19 other competitors and the fact that its a 'proper' racing game. I had the original ToCa PS2 game and liked it a lot, it was a breath of fresh air compared to GT3. I was expecting a great improvement over the original and ToCa 2 (which i never got around to buying) when Toca 3 was anounced, having had it for a week i have to say i'm very, very disapointed by it. It's just more of the same without moving the game on at all. It's very 'arcadie' in the way the car handle, you can lap so much faster than those cars do in reality to the extent that it really spoils it for me.

The Cracker is right, so what it has more cars during the race, the ai sucks and you never see most/all them because ur at the front (ok ok didn't try the hard mode). The damages is so damn fake it's not even funny, I think Forza or PGR3 (can't remember which one) actually do better at this. To top it all off... GT5 will have all of it and more (except for damage probably).

This really isn't that much better than RD2 but the details to the racing rules is unique.

The AI is great, your playing on easy and your saying it sucks, ding, ding, it wouldn't be easy if it was hard. Put the AI on 110% start int he middle of the grid and then see if it's a walk in the park. The damage ranges from superb to unrelistic, but it's certainly better than Forza, parts can't even fall off in Forza, you can lose everythingin this. I can't compare it RD 2 I missed that one, but it's certainl a more enjoyable game than GT4. And heres hoping the GT5 does pull all this off better than RD3, that'd just mean GT5's going to be an even better game.

Of course Forza and PGR3 are better but this is still a good game and lets try to keep this from becoming a comparison thread. Its pretty hard to top Forza. That game will probably be at the top of my "Favorite car games" list until they make Forza 2. But toca is a different game that has every type of car game in one.

I agree completely. And let's not forget to ensure handling is on pro-sim (not sim) as well.
