Really not in the mood for this at all. Bump after bump around a horrifically boring track that I shouldn't have put on the schedule and the car drives like an absolute pig. Really not finding any motivation to continue running this, I could be doing loads of revision with this time instead. Argh.

Also, sorry for quitting out of the second race gents, I was feeling quite dizzy and unwell which is probably why I hit a car or two before leaving.

EDIT: Like I explained in the thread Furi will be taking over, best of luck to you all 👍

Grippy tires + No tire wear + Small easy track = No overtaking or getting away. The RX-8 seems to lack corner speed. Next track please!

Also, PM incoming.

I was too busy spinning out of 5th on the last turn to notice in the actual race :banghead:

GCSEs are easy. Don't worry- couple of hours a day is all I did. 👍

first 2 races were terrible managed 2 11th place finishes then managed another podium in race 3

I know mate, i'm a straight A* student but i've still got a lot of exams coming up and it's stressing me out a bit.

Just chill. I'm on a Level 3 qualification course in IT, 1 step from uni, doing 6 assignments at a time in 6 differing fields of computing...

Fair play, i'm only bothered about it because this is my first real set of modules close together. Before now they've been spread out.

Don't worry too much- GCSEs are played up to be more than they are, they're only to get you into a VI Form/College. You've got to be extremely lucky/intelligent to get straight A* despite what the predictions say. :)

When you get to A level, then you can stress. Because they're a hell of a lot harder. :(

Cheers man, i'll try not to get too uptight in that case 👍

Don't you spend a reasonable amount of time at home in VI form?

Championship points to follow on thursday evening, out all day tomorrow and thursday a 9-5 at college :ouch: .

i said in the chat about consistency my lap times are as follows

lap 3: 58.501
lap 4: 58.081
lap 5: 58.133
lap 6: 57.991
lap 7: 58.947
lap 8: 58.007
lap 9: 57.924
lap 10: 57.939
lap 11: 57.989

Check out the final lap of Race 2 before publishing anything though...

Not unless you're me. (part-time)

Generally most people are full time, but you do get a fair few free periods (you'll just want to work in them :)) depending on how many subjects you take. If you take 4 you'll have a few. 👍

Basically, as long as you've done the work in school for GCSE, you'll only need 2-3 hours of revision a day (past papers!!!!). 👍 That's how I did it anyway- you'll obviously be different. 👍

Relax.

I got 3 A level exams coming and im not nervous. (Till the actual day at least)

If its really stressing you out something that helps me is be around friends who make you laugh. A good laugh always helps with nerves and stuff.

just had a double exam today in maths. got 2 A's i feel, did every question one after the other, bit after bit, didnt leave a single bit out :D. the work you put it comes back round to help! im so happy, only 6 more exams to go :grumpy:. good luck to all those with exams soon, i know what your going through.

you must revise for TOCA asia, exams next tuesday evening for 3 more weeks. very important you put the work in. it should pay of . (see how i kept it on topic there :sly:)

I scored a 56.9 on one lap.

My 2nd race was ruined by lag at the start. There was some glitch and suddenly I ended up 9th or 10th. :banghead: I feel like the night could have gone much better.

Turns 8/9 of SSR5 are a little scary right now...the back end is always snapping out on me. :scared:

I got S1 on Friday, Unit 1 Physics tomorrow.

C1 today was pretty tough compared to the past papers. I got a banker 79 from last year to rely upon though.

I got 8 more to go...

Oh yeah, GCSEs are important and there is no point prioritising gaming over studies if you are academically orientated and motivated. This is why I hope everyone joins my Nascar Thunder Series to get rid of post-exam stress :D

Sorry I couldn't make it yesterday, had some things come up. I am also going to have to miss next week as I will be going to New Orleans for a ride and drive of the new Subaru BRZ, needless to say I'm pretty pumped to get behind the wheel of Subarus new FR creation. 👍

Yeah, don't get me wrong, GCSEs are important, but to be honest they aren't the be-all and end-all. As long as you do a few hours of revision a day you can get As and A*s with relative ease. 👍

GCSEs really don't prepare you for A levels. :scared:

Totally. I agree. I got 4 A*s at GCSE and in my first January modules at AS, BCD. Its a big shift. I got an A* in IGCSE Physics and I got a C in my January Module so its a big jump especially in Science.

Can I clear something up; how many A levels subjects do you generally take? I want to continue with Physics, Maths for definite, maybe English too.

I took Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Critical Thinking and Extended Project.

Physics is tough but if you're strong at Maths, you'll be more or less fine. English is fun too. I miss not doing an essay subject. Up to you really but I'd think with caution about Biology or Chemistry. Really nasty heavy theory subjects.

Go for it, mate. From what I hear, you're good to go. 👍

Wow I thought you did like 2 or 3

Yeah, I want to take Maths and Physics as a possible career path I want to look at is automotive engineering and if not I could pursue the physics option and go into science. I'm fairly articulate (as you're pointed out :p ) so English should be interesting, not looking at Bio/Chem so i'm good there.

Research uni's beforehand as well so you know what grades you want to get.

Physics and maths are very different to GCSE and a lot harder (I thought I caould drag my poor maths skills (still a C at GCSE) to try and do physics as I did well at science at school. Dropped it after a week.)

I am currently doing History, Sociology and Philosophy they are pretty hard but if you remember things well you should do fine.

And college is fun. :D

My results in January were. B in history C in Soiology and a D in Philosophy but just retook the Philossphy.

Btw most people do 3 or 4 A levels.

Ah, I should've done Maths, Economics, Geography and Politics. Ah, life goes on.

I used to be clever but just haven't committed myself this year. Got a scholarship into Sixth Form and then once my GCSEs came, they reduced it to one-year lol.

This is seriously offtopic...

I might have a look at the Biffy/Atin incident today and give my recommended solution to Furi.

Generally you'll take 4 A levels plus an extra qualification (general studies/extended project/Politics/Classical Civilisation etc.). But you can take
3/5 core A levels as well. 👍

If you're good at Maths, then it's a good option- once you've learned the new topics it's the same story as GCSE, just with a bit more brain power needed.

Avoid Chemistry like the Plague. :nervous:
