Guys, let me just make one point clear.
ABS does not belong in the same category with the other aids. All the others, from driving line to traction control, make driving potentially much easier than if they weren't used, which is why they should certainly be off for any serious racing event. However, ABS is a completely different story.
Let's say some people are faster with a DS3, others with a wheel. If the series head ruled that a wheel is mandatory, it would be unfair towards DS3 users. Some of them might not even have a wheel, and even if they did, they would be handicapped because they couldn't use what they are the most effective with.
Same for transmission. Some people (including me) are faster with AT, while some are with MT. If MT was the only allowed type of transmission, it would again be unfair. Some guys, especially those with a DS3, might never be using MT at all, and in addition, in some instances there are no buttons for shifting, because L2 and R2 would be side views!
ABS is the same story. Look at marunda. He finished 7 of 7 races in the Elise championship on the podium. No ABS, while the others had it. Some of us are just plain more skilled without using ABS than with it. Why on earth would ABS have to be disallowed if some, or in this case, the most drivers have probably never driven competitively that way? It's just plain craziness! It's like making everyone drive fully tuned Zondas with comfort tires. There is no point in making it too hard if the guys in the series are not some kinds of professionals who practice GT5 for 100 laps every day. I have always thought we have just raced for fun in TOCA, and that's it. We don't need to become professionals to have fun, right? Everyone can use whatever settings they want, as long as they remain within the obvious regulations. Doesn't that make you already happy? The original concept for Season 4 was looking so promising, but no, it had to be changed to only make it harder and create more banter than ever. I can certainly say that even though I wasn't there, I can tell something's screwed big time.
