Welcome. TOCA's Season 4 was very hit and miss. 11 races saw some errant driving, contreversial cars, but at the same time still had 16 car races which were astonishing. This thread is the build-up and Q&A to the next season - under the working title of TOCA5. Anyway here this thread will serve as a general news and Q&A session. Below this OP will be updated with all updates.

Testing has commenced. TOCA is giving all cars multiple shakedowns at different tracks and sorting out regulations. Also possible are cars which have more power stock, with ballast to bring them in line.

Tsukuba after a successfull night racing in TOCA Asia has been revealed as being part of the schedule.

Cape Ring South, Monza, Tsukuba -These 3 are the TOCA test tracks that cars are currently being tested on.

Responding to questions:
I remember TOCA ran Tsukuba in S3 with very few problems although if there is no ABS, well..

ABS will be on at 1.

Three questions from me

1. What cars are you leaving in /taking out?
2. Are all the problem drivers that were in 4.2 allowed to join season 5?
3. Are you going to be tougher with drivers that ignore you and continue to rant in the forum/game?

1. The Mini looks very unlikely to return. VW chances are slim requiring a minor miracle.

2. Certain drivers have been looked at and if they are allowed to join, will be under close scrutiny.

3. Yes. Stewards can also wield the axe.

This.

Then add Sports Softs. ;)

RH tyres are 100% in.

Cars have been tested in spec by a test driver who took them for several laps of Cape South. These were the lap times, cars codenamed:

1:20.9 "Mercury" (S4 Spec)
1:21.5 "Venus"
1:22.2 "Uranus"
1:22.5 "Neptune"
1:22.5 "Pluto" (tune, potential S5 spec)
1:22.6 "Saturn"
1:22.9 "Mars (potential S5 spec)

However interesting was a car that appeared low down the timesheets, with the following times:

Kyoto-Gion.jpg

0kg - 1:22.712
50kg - 1:23.041
100kg - 1:23.163

Something for you guys to mull over then...

Todays news: The axing of Le Mans from the calendar has been confirmed. Two or three other races look likely to lose their slots as well.

21st July is official date for R1 of TOCA5

One car officially confirmed, displayed in my GT5 PSN picture.

If you need a car tester, I am here.

Just hope you take my advice if you do want me to test them. :)

S4 cars are very close spec-wise to S5, so any S4 spec tests are valid in my book.

I personally think you should keep the Mazda, Ford and Honda the same, and ditch the Scirocco completely. Infiniti, I don't think that will ever be capable of keeping up. Don't know about the other Mini's but the Countryman is as ugly as it is slow. I am sure the Volvo can keep up one way or another.

2 of the S4 cars are confirmed. The VW will be investigated without turbo, in N/A form.

I think then it will be too slow on straights.

Just use the Golf GTI all ready.

The Scirocco is not a touring car. It's more of a mini GT racer.

Disagreed, Scirocco is definitally a touring car.

A fat one...

Agreed.

The Scirocco was originally part of a two-to-four season plan for VW to be in TOCA.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Golf VI in TOCA5.

Furi, even though I admire your persistence in continuing, while also being excited about a new season coming, I can't trust that dirty driving would be gone unless you bring back a stewards' panel.

Which is why the stewards panel will return.

As revealed in TOCA Asia, Tsukuba is in TOCA5.

Furi I would never take over...

...YOU BETTER PUT MONACO IN OR I KEEL YOU.

Don't listen to Dax, he wants to kill TOCA with his track choices.

If you want help with stewarding, I can be of use. I won't be racing, but I'll be happy to give some opinion.

3rd party input could be required. I'll take that on-board Biffy 👍

And I would gladly be of service in the steward panel. ;)

My current GT5 PSN pic is a teaser.

I wanna be a steward :)👍

seeing as it's a Q&A i have a few questions to be answered. Will SSRX be in the track list? it has a great history, excellent facilities, and quite frankly one of the best tracks in GT5. Overtaking is hard but that makes the racing better with reverse grids. I for one would really like it to appear in the calender.

Might join full this time. :)
