For those of us on a budget you really get great value out of the Tommykaira ZZII ’00. For 60,000 credits you are getting one sweet monster that will run with the best of them and stay on track. Sure it’s just a standard car but its handling will shock you.

I have added pretty much every tune item to mine and it sits at 916 HP and 648 PP. When you first buy it make sure you do an oil change to boost the horse power before driving it. I have raced it in all kinds of races and you can always turn down the PP to get into others. It will run at 267mph on its own and so far I have peaked it out at 285mph hitting the rev. limiter.

Below I have a few photo screen shots and some photo made images. A great race to grind is Like The wind. On race 1 so far I have only managed 2nd place but on race 2 & 3 I come in 1st every time. Payouts are around 43,000 Cr. So if you are budget minded, a purist or are crazy enough to love grinding your credits this standard car deserves a look.

I'm not getting the same enjoyment out of the ZZII as I had in previous GTs; it feels far too easy to drive. I've kept it stock as far things go under the hood, but I did add the brake upgrade (first time upgrading brakes in GT6 actually), 1" up on the wheels, and of course threw on a sexy wing (like my GT5 version). Nothing has been done to alter the stock suspension.

I almost want to tune out the stability for a more wild feel , and also because I feel that it is creating understeer upon exiting corners.

Braking also seems to lock a bit too easy (maybe it is the upgrade??).

Everyone talks about how great the Rocket is. My fully modded 654pp ZZII and 658pp Rocket are within .15 seconds of each other at Tsukuba. On a high speed track the ZZII will walk away from the Rocket.

 I love the ZZII. I've used it for 38 Golds in the National and International races.

It has a slight understeer to it. Has anybody tuned this out?

The tommy kaira has been the underground tip for GT3, 4, 5 and now 6 also? :D

Just won the GT Championship with this car, fully tuned. Way too easy although once I passed the AI they kept close to my tail in some races. I enjoyed the championship, no doubt :D but I have way too much understeer when exiting corners. Any tip?

Wow just ran a 4:13:410 in Race 3 of Like The Wind. 77,220 credit payout with the first day login bonus of 110%.

Could be a number of reasons. Mine started out close to what I consider perfect, but there are a few things that I do to AWD cars before even driving them. (I just drove it to be sure I remembered correctly) Changes from stock: Dampers (compression) F 2, R 2 (in real life extension should be greater than compression), custom differential with acceleration sen. Front 60, Rear 15. I actually have my front downforce reduced to 85 from stock, which would increase understeer but increase speed. But again, I wasn't having a problem so that's what I went with. You may want to leave the front downforce at stock for now.

Extenuating circumstances...you may be using a controller. I use a wheel. I put racing hard tires on all my test cars for comparison between other cars. If you are running stock tires that may be the cause of understeer. If the above doesn't work out for you, or want to use stock tires, you may need to adjust the front to rear ride height. In real life and Forza, if you want to reduce understeer, you lower the front and/or raise the rear ride height in proportion to each other. In GT6, especially MR cars, it could work that way, or it may work the opposite way. Only way to know which direction to go for each car is make a change and try it.

I bought every part for mine, but you don't have to buy all the parts to make the ZZII handle. Some people like more oversteer than others. Either way, adjusting the ride height as explained should make this car do what you want. If you feel you messed it up, copy your stock B or C tune to your A car and try again.

I guess I need to give this thing a try. I kind of avoid Standards like the plague (mostly because I like to turn off HUD completely and use cockpit view's dials instead) but there aren't a lot of good premium options for fast MRs in GT6 that don't have serious handling issues.

Just got one of these, maxed it out, quickie tune and into race 3 of Like the Wind.
Draft (476km/h), lowest bend speed(430km/h), return trip (458km/h), no nitrous finish time 4.05.929 - one quick stable little car.

Had a go at race 2, not as easy as race 3 and not familiar with track but clocked a 4.05.514, this car mullers the opposition :)

Does anybody feel their ZZII handles much worse after the 1.02 update? I don't know if it's because I just spent the past 2 days on the kart races and then the X2014 Jr. races, but now i'm trying to do the IA 500PP series and I feel my ZZII now handles like a brick. I'm still winning by a fair margin but I have to slow down tremendously in order to turn. Pushing the DS3 sticks all the way left or right after smoothly braking into gear 2 and i'm heading straight into the walls. Restored my body rigidity just to be sure but it didn't help. Hmmm.

I drove mine tonight and it is handling great. Did you change controller sensitivity for the karts?

Yep, but I increased it from 1 to 4, so it should be even more sensitive now. Maybe I just got too familiar with the handling of karts/X2014. But I did just read a few minutes ago in another thread where somebody mentioned handling for their car got worse after the 1.02 update, so it looks like i'm not the only one.

i hope PD will give us more updated standard cars in the updates, including the ZZ-II of course :). It has such a great handling!
