Too many right seat driven cars...

Hi!
I'm from Italy and I feel a bit disappointed to see many european cars with right seat drive. I know that PD people is japanese so they use to drive on the left lane of the road as british gentlemen, but could be really useful for many others to choose the left driving seat...
 
What? Which European cars should have LHD instead of RHD? Keep in mind that PD models the cars native to their country, so a Japanese Toyota (which would be RHD), or an Italian Lamborghini (which would be LHD).

It's not just British 'gentlemen' (I hate that steriotype), and japan that drive rhd anyway, why would pd have to change right to left, when there is still rhd people in gt5. Personally, you should just put up with it.
 
A choice would be welcome, but it would probably take a lot more work than we'd like to think. Aussie 'gentlemen' also drive on the right hand side of the car 👍

Sorry mate... I didn't want to offend you in any way... I was only thinking about LHD and RHD while using the latest DLC VW Golf that I supposed to be RHD.

I believe the OP meant that french, italian, american and german cars should be LHD and UK, Japanese should be RHD.
Not that big of an issue to me though.
 
I'd say "first world problems" like the guy in that thread about the constant server maintenance notifications, but from what I've heard about Italy's economy lately...
 
I'm fine with RHDs of cars that are native to countries that use RHD (i.e. UK, Japan, Australia), but when cars from countries that use LHD are put in as RHD models, it's kind of annoying (i.e. Volvo C30, Citroen C4, etc.). Far more countries drive LHD vehicles, so it feels like we're getting the shaft when PD does that.

I'm Italian too! However I agree with you, the cars that are from LHD country should be LHD... :)
 
I hate LHD therefore all cars should be RHD. Fair point no? It's all about perspectives. 👍

As for RHD/LHD, does it really matter?
 
Left hand drive cars are built as right hand drive to suit the export markets of the country they're intended to be sold, hence why BMW etc are RHD in the game, given that the Japanese market is RHD. It would be a huge waste of PD's time and resources fixing said cars to each origin country's specific cockpit layout, and arguably would add nothing to the game.

The C30, C4 are correct being RHD, the problem is that you have failed to notice that PD have selected UK MODELS of the cars, I know for sure that the C4 spec and C30 R-design PD have included are on the UK market.

That's ok. I think they used a car from Japan just because its easier.
 
The standard American MX-5 has the driver on the right I think. :boggled:
 
It should be noted that it is probable that most of the cars PD models for the game are JDM models, so even if the car is native to another country the version they base the cars in the game off of will be RHD. Not really the best way of doing it, but what are you gonna do? Not that big of a deal.




Now, that does not excuse cars that are only LHD being RHD in the game (or vice versa), but as far as I'm aware that is only the case with some Standard models.
 
I'm annoyed by all the RHD cars in GT5. Especially the european versions of the US cars we have here. Sometimes the game seems like it was made by and for asians/europeans

It doesn't matter on the track. You (well, I) get used to it very quickly. One or two dipped wheels and you're sorted. If you're the role-playing sort, then sure, bad luck.

I really don't think it's anything to get worked up about, unless you're into the history and politics behind it all...
The balance between "handedness" is pretty good, all things considered. Ideally, we should be able to choose when we buy the car which side the controls are on; we should even be able to perform conversions on those cars that were only ever sold in one handedness. Keeps everyone "happy".

This is not the problem. The problem is that there are cars that should be LHD and others RHD and are the other way around. I would hate to see Imprezas, Hondas or Jaguars with LHD. As much as I hate seeing a Ford Focus, Citroen C4, Peugeots or the Volvo C30 as a RHD.

I consider myself a purist and kind of a role-player like Griffith 500 said, adding the fact that I use extrictly cockpit cam. So I expect to see British/Autralian/Japanese cars with RHD. As I would expect German/American/Italian/French and others to be LHD.

But it's really not a big deal. Not that it shouldn't be fixed, though. Specially knowing how "exact" PD likes to be with their game.

My most enjoyable, regular car in the game is only RHD. the premium Miatas

:(

and their tops aren't down when you drive them, which makes it worse. The Miata TC is too fast and loud to be as enjoyable. It's more fun, but I like driving stock cars more than anything.
 
Reading this thread made me curious to know... If you are driving from a country that use the left side of the road to a country that use the right side (and vice versa) how do they do the trade?
 
Couldn't they just mirror the interior with very minor changes? If that was an option it would solve the problem pretty quickly and all cars could be LHD or RHD.

That depends on how the car is laid out. Some cars have symmetrical interiors other than the dashboard, but others have designs that are different on each side. If that is the case, a LHD version of a car in real life wouldn't quite look the same as a mirrored version of the RHD one.



I'd have to check, but I think the Nissan 370z is an example.

The C30 used in the game is Japanese market according to the description in the game, but that doesn't really matter.

Let's say you're Swedish and you only have 3 cars featured in the game and the only premium from your home country isn't even LHD (the type your country drives). Or hypothetically, since you're from the UK, what if PD made every UK premium model in the game LHD instead of RHD. Would you be a little peeved ?

It's a minor detail and obviously not game-breaking or anything, but it's a little annoying, IMO.
