Top 3 Most Hated Tracks in GT5

I don't like the long speed test special routes. I forget the number of it but one of the special routes that is actually a race course with a pit road is fine. Other then that there aren't too many tracks that I detest. The only thing I really hate is that ALL of the fantasy tracks have to have a unrealistic tunnel in them. What's up with that? Literally all of them do except for Cape Ring, which has an unrealistic spiral bridge and lacks real walls. Oh, and London just sucks.

I'm going to say something I know will be unpopular now, but I hate racing at the Nordschleife. Don't get me wrong, the track is fun to drive around by myself, but you absolutely can't race on it. A track that narrow with no passing zones isn't the ultimate track to race on, I don't even care, lol. In a lower pp car, sure, its totally fine, but you can't go online and have a race there with decent cars without having a wreck fest. Even if you are able to make passes cleanly on that track, the odds are slim to none that guys you are racing against can, and you're almost guaranteed a 50% chance of being put in the wall whenever somebody around you tries to make an overtake. Again, I think its fun to drive on by myself, but I mean come on, it just isn't fun to race on.

1: Trial Mountain. I can run the same car at every single track and have it perform perfectly, but the second I take it on TM it's like driving on ice. No amount of tuning fixes it for me.

2: Côte d'Azur/Azure Coast/Monaco/French Riviera/Whatever you want to call it. I know it's a classic track, but I just don't like racing it. Race cars make it a little more fun, but it's just a weird track for me.

3: Anything user made. Seriously, every Seasonal has one of those stupid Eifel tracks and I usually spend more time on there than I do any other track. As someone who races without the map, having tons of steep hills that have corners as soon as you reach the top makes for lots of crashes.

TSUKUBA-Endurances - its a neat track for short races. But 3 and 9 hours of it is boring as hell.

Two tracks I really enjoy are TokyoR246 and Sarthe

Madrid

Madrid

Madrid

Its the only one i really struggle with, I just can't find a rhythm

I have to agree. I don't hate the track, I actually think it looks fantastic. But I have a hard time producing fast lap times there. Still struggling with the European Hot Hatch seasonal race there :/

For cruising it's awesome though :)

For me it has to be Tsukuba, Fuji & Grand Valley Speedway. There's just something about the rhythm on these tracks... Or rather, the lack of it!

Cape Ring, Tsukuba and SSR7 come to mind.

I love Nurb just for the long drive.

La Sarthe with chicanes. I love it without, but the chicanes that pop out of nowhere in that straight break the flow for me.

Rome - again, very little rythem. I also don't like the lower traction on the cobblestone sections.

I've been able to pull off some pretty sick drifts in the Lambo Aventador on those cobblestone sections lol :trouble:
I don't really hate any tracks, but TSUKUBA IS SO BORING. Wayyyy overused in GT4, so naturally I dislike it in GT5. For some strange reason it seems really bearable in Forza, not sure why. But its just repetitive and has bland scenery IMO.

London, Trial Mountain Circuit and Fuji Speedway.

London is too narrow, Trial Mountain is upstaged by every other original track in the game and has that annoying chicane, and Fuji has constantly deceptive turns that are just outright irritating to navigate.

Number 3... Tsukuba. Great with lower end cars, a NIGHTMARE with supercars and race cars. And I prefer the latter.

Number 2... Nürburgring (Nordschleife, V-Type, 24H). The Nordschleife... No wonder Jackie Stewart nicknamed it The Green Hell.

Number 1... Indy Road Course. Oh God, the Indy Road Course...

Yes, I actually really like SSR7 and Cape Ring. I like SSR7 because it reminds me of Wangan Midnight and Cape Ring for having something which makes me like it.

hi guys,

new dude here. hope you don't mind my opinion

I don't hate any but not a real fan of tsukuba, but that's because I can't drift well in slow sections... Nordschliefe is good to hone driving skills. it has pretty much everything but one lap takes soooo.... atrociously long to complete.

;)

Tsukuba Circuit is basically nothing but hairpins with exactly one proper turn (just before the big Dunlop arch). If you just can’t get enough of hairpins, Tsukuba is your track. 👍

Trial Mountain has some beautiful scenery (I love the sections with trees overhead, sunlight streaking through the leaves; feels like home), at least between turns I just can’t get a feel for and/or concealed in dark shadows on an otherwise-bright track, and you can’t turn your headlights on. (However, the chicane at the end is just about the one part I don’t mind!)

I’ve yet to meet a turn in Autumn Ring Mini that isn’t a tedious chore to get through, and the whole hexagon segment in the northeast corner can’t decide whether it wants to be one turn or several, and has no clear line through it.

Why all the hate for Cape Ring? Although I don’t like the hairpins that connect the Inside and Periphery tracks. And the fact that the Full configuration – the one I’m used to! – runs in the opposite direction of every other configuration (except South) and there’s no Reverse configuration for any of them. :grumpy: It’s still one of my favorite tracks, though!

Nurburgring Nordschleife 24h a.k.a. The Behemoth--and is it indeed. So boring, long, can't stand it. It's somewhat interesting to drive but its so annoying. Thinking of that 1-Lap Guide Run in the GT4 license tests makes me sick to my stomach.

Tsukuba--too tight and short, definitely made for FF cars, same with Autumn Ring (although the latter is quite fun)

Motegi--don't have it in GT5 but I hated it in GT4 so I'd imagine it to be the same. I like the oval version though, unlike the road course its actually not brain-numbingly boring and earns you easy money in GT PSP.

I don't drift but yes I agree Tsukuba is extremely slow and tedious.

I concur with the statement regarding Nordschliefe 👍 and welcome to GTP! :D

EDIT: And I have no idea why you guys would even contemplate hating Trial Mountain and Deep Forest, most favorite and fun tracks in the game IMO but I grew up with them in all the GTs so they are pretty sentimental :P

Deep Forest - While I admit I love the scenery and would gladly pick it to cruise on if it were in real life, I'm not a fan of it anymore. Feels kind of... simple, especially with the rework. The way it was laid out in GT2 was my favorite design, seemingly all blind corners in the middle section because of the way the trees crowded the side of the road.

This might be a bit of a shocker, but for almost the same reason I don't care for High Speed Ring - while I admit I love the first turn (reminds me of the old Fuji Speedway), the sweeping S-turns in the middle are... generic, and the course really doesn't have that much more to offer besides the bridge (the lake and water is gorgeous, though.)

And, possibly destined to cause some hate - I despise Monza. Why? It's almost all straightaways and simple turns (excepting the chicane and the 2nd turn leading up to the bridge.) What matters the most on this (especially online) is engine power and top speed, and there's always someone who's either late on the brakes or just wants to be a 🤬 and punt you into the gravel or barriers. Don't get me wrong, I love the history of the track, and the location is fabulous.

I do wish that all the Monza and Fuji layouts were in the game, I want to relive the high-banked turns.

1.All the "original" tracks (including course generator ones)

2.All the PS2-like tracks (which leave us with only 2 tracks, Spa and the ring)

3.Spa, it's the worst representation of that track that I've ever seen, did they even bother to go to the track and drive on it?

So there you go, I really like the ring though.

For me it's;

Tsukuba - Just too short and twisty, no feel or rythm to it. Gets really boring after a while, I think whoever has done the 9 hour endurance race on there has the patience of a saint!

London - Same reasons as Tsukuba, just too short and no rythm at all.

Rome - Again just too short, does have nice rythm but when they first said they were bringing it back I was expecting the original or a brand new one that was much longer.

I guess it's fair to assume you've been there yourself and driven it extensively? No? Hmm... :sly:

On topic, 1. The GP sections of the Nürburgring, screw you Hermann Tilke!
2. Circuit de la Sarthe, just because of the erratic penalties.
3. Fuji, see 2.

- Cape Ring (too "original")
- SSR 5 (horrible environment), 7 (BORING), X (too long)
- High Speed Ring (need rework back to GT1 with banked turns all the way)
- London (too short and narrow, no longer straight and lack of pits)
- Eiger (no words)

1) Autumn Ring Mini. I just can never get a rhythm going on this one, nothing natural feeling about it at all.

2) Cote d'Azur. There's 3 or 4 corner combos on this legendary track that frustrate the h*ll out of me, particularly:
- at the crest of the first hill
- approaching back straightaway where the tunnel is
- the final corner series before the home stretch with the steel barrier on the right. How many times I've hit that thing and lost 4-5 places or been DQ'd! Grrrr!

3) Special Stage Route 5. With the night lighting it's just plain hard on the eyes, especially if you've been at the game for a while...and forget about doing it in a day lit room with any sunlight falling on the screen.
